Was busy browsing a forum, and came across this, a story on the Daily Mail site!!! LINK

A town was cut off by floodwater yesterday after torrential overnight storms - which caused 6ft high drifts of hailstones.

More than 100 people were evacuated from their homes in Ottery St Mary, Devon, and 25 were airlifted to safety or rescued by firefighters.

Cars were buried up to their roofs in hailstones and the freezing conditions caused floodwater to form treacherous icy patches, causing dozens of car accidents.

It’s been along time in coming to be honest! Specially for the long suffering Newcastle fans, but last nights result, a 2-1 win over West Brom, is HOPEFULLY the change in direction the club needs, and now we’re jumped out of the bottom 3 and into 15th (ahead of a full Premier League program tonight mind) We can hopefully start to pick up some results starting with Aston Villa @ home on Monday night (Yet another game live on the telly

Anyway the team seemed to want it more than the day we’d rather forget, and I think the inclusion of Jonas Gutierrez and Joey Barton into the midfield added some pace that we lack when we play with Butt and Geremi, and we had 2 good chances in the first few minutes, before Shola won us a penalty, which Joey Barton stepped up and cooly slotted into the goal, despite Carson’s best attempts at trying to put him off :)

We were still playing some nice stuff and Jonas seemed to be at the heart of it, and recently Duff seems like a man transformed (apart from Saturday that is)  Habib got a good cross over near half-time and Oba had a pretty simple finish with his head, altho the defender may wish he’s actually stood up as he could have got more of a touch on it

Second half you could sense the crowd and players were nervy, and West Brom had a hell of a lot of possession, but only got one goal back for it, and in the end you could sense the relief upon the final whistle!  Now I know quite a few people who follow the Toon didn’t wanna see Joey Barton in a Newcastle shirt again given his previous record, but a lot of the fans I chat to in one particular thread on a forum all seem to think that he owes us fans, and after his kissing of the badge to rile the Scumderland fans at the weekend, he needs to get his head down and concentrate on his football.  At the end of the day Nicky Butt is almost too slow, and I’m hoping a newlook midfield of Jonas - Guthrie - Barton N’Zogbia/Duff can help supply Owen/Viduka/Martins or who ever may play up top, and help us finish in a respectable position.

… Does not mean its your god given right to come flying up behind me on a dual carriage away, and try and get to to pull into the other lane, just so you can get 1 car closer to your destination! Specially when there is a convoy of lorries and trucks in the left hand lane, and a steady convoy of cars overtaking them! Happened on more than a few occasions yesterday on the way to and from Bristol! Not saying it was just BMW drivers but they were the worst of the bunch

Anyway I was not in the best of moods on Tuesday afternoon, when at 4pm Maddsy came upto me and had me look on the aa website at a route planner from here to a postcode in Bristol, then said “Al’s loading the car up for you” and gave me the job sheet! WTF! If you’re gonna do that atleast tell me first thing in the morning, as I can then have the afternoon off or something! Anyway got home that evening, and decided against going to the gym as I’d feel even worse getting up at 4am stiff as fuck!

Ok… I’ll hold my hands up now and admit that I’ve been pretty crap at blogging these past few weeks! Seem to wait a whole week, then cram a whole weeks worth of blogging into one long boring blog  To be honest I’m going through a bit of a “Can’t be really bothered to do much, due to no energy” sort of phase :(  Anyway its taken me a long time to say this, but I managed to play a part in collecting the first 3 points in an R & K / Rachells shirt on sunday! (more to follow later  ) p.s. this is another LONG post

A While back I had a debate with Lee and Fee over which was the best browser, and I’ve even had it recently with Smash and Maddsy.  Well for ages (before I started using Blogexplosion) The stats didn’t lie and it was the Ghey IE that was the most popular browser for visitors, but the more popular my blog has become lately, the more Firefox users have been visiting :D  List below of top browsers since I added  Google Analytics in June 2007

Found this article on Reuters Oddly Enough page! I’m tell Maddsy, Brad and Colin here and now that you have no chance of me swimming in Kings Mill Res, catching Bad Aids, and what ever other diseases fester under them waters, to “Cleanse my soul”

HARARE (Reuters) - A Zimbabwean soccer player drowned in a crocodile infested river during a ritual to cleanse his team of bad spirits before a match, a state newspaper said on Tuesday.

The Chronicle quoted unnamed sources as saying about 16 players from second division side Midland Portland Cement were told to swim in the Zambezi river in the resort town of Victoria Falls ahead of a soccer match on Sunday.

“The technical team told every player to get into the river so that they could be cleansed of bad spirits,” it said.

The paper quoted local police commander Peter Rodzi as saying that after the swim, the other players had noticed that one of the team was missing.

“The area where the team was swimming is prohibited as the current is strong. The river is also infested with crocodiles and hippos,” said Rodzi.

Belief in the power of spirits is widespread in Zimbabwe and many African countries.
