Someone posted a link to this Sleep Hygiene Test on a forum I go on, so I thought I’d share my results

Sleep Hygiene Test - Abridged

“Sleep is that golden chain that ties health and our bodies together.”
-Thomas Dekker

In our fast-paced modern society, lack of sleep is becoming an alarmingly serious problem, one we often fail to take seriously. So we’re a little wiped-out - no big deal, right? Wrong! In fact, 40 million of Americans are suffering from various sleep disorders, and 20-30 million experience intermittent sleep-related problems. There are numerous disastrous consequences; falling asleep at the wheel is one of the most common and lethal problems on our highways, accidents due to fatigue in the workplace are costly, and we are less equipped to deal with stress resulting in higher rates of depression and burn-out. What’s the solution to solving this exhaustion crisis? Getting more snoozing time, of course, but first - simple awareness and education. You’ve come to the right place.

You need make sleep a priority by really tuning in to your body’s needs for sound and uninterrupted sleep. Advice & Tips

Here are some tools and tactics that will help you drift off to dreamland for the right number of hours:

  • Keep a sleep journal (find out how many hours you need to sleep per night to feel well rested in the morning) and arrange your schedule accordingly.
  • Avoid alcohol, caffeine, heavy food, and smoking in the hours before going to bed.
  • Try to unwind earlier in the evening. Allow yourself to be totally relaxed when your head hits the pillow.
  • Make a real effort to go to bed at approximately the same time every night.

So thats another weekend out of the way, and we’re even closer to Christmas now!! A time I’ve not really enjoyed the 2 previous years for certain reasons :(  Anyway was our Owens birthday on Thursday, so went round straight from work, via Tesco to pick up some Hot Wheelz cars for our Owen, and also some Wrapping paper for my mother.  In typical fashion I didn’t get her text till I’d LEFT Tesco and noticed I had a missed call asking to get some Milk too! Anyway on the way out of Tesco I saw Sami, so had a bit of a chat with her, and she told me she was sorry that she’d hung on to 2 of my DVDs for so long, and promised she WOULD return them soon when she gets chance.  We’ll see I suppose.  Anyway got round to my mum and dads and was hoping for a few games on our Stefs FIFA 09, but just as I pulled up at the ‘rents, they’d beaten me through the door by a matter of minutes.  I was gutted as I know our Stef playing on the XBOX when my dad gets home from work annoys the hell out of my father, as he likes to have the news on whilst he sorts his tea out

They went to pick our Owen up after we’d had some tea (Yeah I managed to sort out a bacon cob and a bacon and egg cob as my dad was cooking them, along with a Cappuccino with Nutmeg  I was proper lording it up I can tell you HAHA!  Our Owen walked through the door looking a little pleased with himself, telling us it was his birthday and that he was 4, and he noticed a few presents on the table, and asked mama if he could open them, so she gave him a hand.  Wasn’t long till he noticed that they’d changed the living room round a little, by moving a settee and chair round, and our Owen turned round and said “You’ve changed it!” Little kids are ace.  He seemed to have fun with the Remote Controlled Land Rover my I got my mum to buy him, apart from the fact he couldn’t get it to turn, despite my fathers best efforts of teaching him! He’ll learn soon enough I guess.  Our Lewi came round, and so did our Hev, and we all had some Birthday Cake, and then I made my way off home as I was a little knackered.

I laughed when I heard this story from a “lad” I know on Sunday morning when I went to watch a few mates play football (on seperate teams too which made it fun) who’d gone to the Chesterfield vs Mansfield Derby game   Story is from the CHAD website. It is a tad unfair on the SSA members who’d paid to be on the bus tho.

MANSFIELD Town supporters on a £40-a-head corporate package at Saturday’s FA Cup clash at local rivals Chesterfield were left stranded when police commandered their coach . . . for a group of hooligans.

And when they asked police how they were supposed to get back to Mansfield, the fans were told: “Get the service bus!”

Club officials will make an official protest about the incident on Monday.

The supporters had paid £40 for a corporate day out to the big cup clash - including bucks fizz, a meal, a matchday programme, matchday tickets and return transport on an executive coach.

But they were shocked at the final whistle to find a group of ‘troublemakers’ on their coach - leaving them stranded on the streets outside Saltergate.

The coach, containing fans police believe had travelled only to cause trouble, was then escorted out of Chesterfield and back to Mansfield.

Stags commercial director Bob Gorrill, who was in charge of the corporate party, protested in vain to police outside the ground.

Fortunately for the fans, space was found for them on two double deckers hired by the Stags Supporters Association (SSA) for its members.

However, many of the ‘executive’ fans had to stand up on the buses for the journey back to Mansfield.

One disgruntled supporter, who did not want to be named, told Chad: “I paid £40, partly to guarantee transport to and from the ground.

“The police apparently said that these hooligans had come on the service bus and had no transport booked back to Mansfield.

“The police just wanted these idiots out of their hair; they weren’t interested in how we were supposed to get back to Mansfield.

“I didn’t know that the police had powers to do this. It was not the club’s fault and with the help of the SSA, they made sure we got back to Field Mill.”

Police had kept Mansfield’s fans inside the ground at the final whistle for a few minutes as they tried to avoid trouble between rival supporters.

Earlier groups of supporters from both clubs had left the ground early under the watchful eye of a large police presence.

to my little nephew Owen :D Hope you have a great day little man.

Anyway been a few days so pretty sure it’s worth an update :D  I’m aching like fuck from the gym on tuesday night.  First time I’d done anything on the chest for nigh on 2 weeks, and I struggled to lift what I had done previously, but managed to JUST make it through the session.  That was until John decided to do some crazy ass exercise on one of the benches at the end! Fair play it was only 25lbs free-weights, but it went a little something like this…

  • 1 Bench-Press
  • 1 Fly
  • 2 Bench-Presses
  • 1 Fly
  • 3 Bench-Presses
  • 1 Fly

and so on untill we did 10 Bench-Presses and the final Fly.  It really began to hurt around the 8 Bench-Press set and thanks to John shouting “Come on… Easy” I managed to complete the whole set! YAY TO ME!!

So this weekend I’ve not done a deal, but still ended up waking up on a Monday morning aching like hell, and VERY tired :(  Friday was a laugh at football, and it was fucking freezing!! bought some kids gloves to wear, but they were a little too small, and have since gone to a good home! (Winty’s new missus to be exact)  John turned up in an Alton Towers fucking Poncho (For reasons unknown to anyone but him and Day, and we had a laugh! I’ve sprained my little finger on my left hand, pulling of a “top draw save, straight from the top draw that one” (As Jamie Redknapp would have said) altho I did let in a stupid goal, when I tried to be a bit too clever   Got home and carried on where I left off on my Football Manager 08 game! I’d got Stags to top of League 2, with me, John and Maddsy in the team as budding 16 year olds  The only problem with this game I find its that it’s so god damn addictive! Before you know it it’s almost 2am even tho you think you’ve only been on it for a short time

I have a bit of a dilemma now.  I’ll admit I dont go out all that often due to in part financial conatraints, and I do love playing on the XBOX 360.  Now the problem is me and Crit have been looking forward to the release of both these games since their announcement, and expect both to be up there for game of the year, altho I can see Gears of War 2 winning it, as I’ve been told the gameplay on COD: WaW is pretty much the same as COD:4 with a few changes.  The dilemma is… Which do I buy! ! I think Gears is released next week in the UK, and COD: WaW is out the week after :)

Well it’s Friday bloody morning again! Another week seems to have flown by!! And it’s safe to say winter is on it’s way and it’s gonna be bloody freezing if this last week or so is anything to go by!   First time in god knows how long I’ve actually had to scrape ice of my car and that was 3 times out of 5 this week :(   Watched the North London Derby on wednesday, and had a few quid spare, so opened up a Betfair account.  Deposited £10 into it, and decided to play on the arcade a little.  After 2 spins on one of the super slots, It alerted me I’d won £125 :D :D So that quickly came out of the account, apart from the £10 I put in, which went on Adebayor to score first! HOw gutted I was cos that would have been another £50 in my bank account HAHA. There has been very little else to update with, apart from I am all caught up with Prison Break  Jesus it’s still as good as always :D

Had a very quick session on the Shoulders last night after a good week or so off from the gym, and it hurt straight away  I say quick session, cos we were flying through it, only for Caz to ring John and say she was locked out her house Whoops!!

Got a letter through the post the other day addressed to the previous owner of the house, and I don’t normally open these, just return them, but I think the nosey bugger inside me thought sod it, as it looked official enough, and it turns out I was right.  The previoous owner, who hasn’t been living there for a good 3 years now, has an over-due debt with Powergen, and it was a FORMAL DEMAND for the money! This is coming after they sent one about 6 months ago also, and that got the same treatment…. Me basically ringing them up and saying “She no longer lives there, I own the house, and have no forwarding address or contact phone number” To be told they’ll amend their records and I should get nothing more from them! Lets see if that happens !
