Commemorative Shirts to be worn this weekend

When Sir Bobby Robsons 2 former teams go head to head at Portman Road this weekend.  It’s live on the BBC and I think it’s gonna be a bit of an emotional game.  Ipswich will be naming one of their stands after him, and I’m sure the Newcastle fans will do their bit to make it an amazing day, as Lady Elsie Robson and family will be in attendance.

NEWCASTLE United and Ipswich Town will wear special commemorative shirts in memory of the clubs’ former manager Sir Bobby Robson when they meet at Portman Road later this month.

Sir Bobby, who served both The Magpies and The Tractor Boys with great distinction during a decorated managerial career which spanned 40 years, passed away in July at the age of 76 after a long battle with cancer.

In the aftermath of his passing, both St.James’ Park and Portman Road were visited by thousands of fans from around the world wishing to pay their respects to the former England boss.

And The Football League have now granted special dispensation for the two sides to alter their playing kit for the game on September 26.

Let’s hope we can spank the Tractor Boys and get Roy Keane the sack, because I REALLY can’t stand the twat! Never have done, and given his Village of the Damned connection, NEVER will

You know, my sister-in-law and niece sent photos from when they went to St. James’ park after Sir Bobby died. I’ll have to post them to my blog or flickr account one day. Shame they only show the Premiership matches over here. Maybe they’ll have something about it on Sky Sports as they show that on the Fox Soccer Channel.

Yeah saw pics on the news and it looked an emotional place! Shame if you won’t be able to watch it :(
