Confessions of a Sober Wiggy ;)

So thats another weekend out of the way, and we’re even closer to Christmas now!! A time I’ve not really enjoyed the 2 previous years for certain reasons :(  Anyway was our Owens birthday on Thursday, so went round straight from work, via Tesco to pick up some Hot Wheelz cars for our Owen, and also some Wrapping paper for my mother.  In typical fashion I didn’t get her text till I’d LEFT Tesco and noticed I had a missed call asking to get some Milk too! Anyway on the way out of Tesco I saw Sami, so had a bit of a chat with her, and she told me she was sorry that she’d hung on to 2 of my DVDs for so long, and promised she WOULD return them soon when she gets chance.  We’ll see I suppose.  Anyway got round to my mum and dads and was hoping for a few games on our Stefs FIFA 09, but just as I pulled up at the ‘rents, they’d beaten me through the door by a matter of minutes.  I was gutted as I know our Stef playing on the XBOX when my dad gets home from work annoys the hell out of my father, as he likes to have the news on whilst he sorts his tea out

They went to pick our Owen up after we’d had some tea (Yeah I managed to sort out a bacon cob and a bacon and egg cob as my dad was cooking them, along with a Cappuccino with Nutmeg  I was proper lording it up I can tell you HAHA!  Our Owen walked through the door looking a little pleased with himself, telling us it was his birthday and that he was 4, and he noticed a few presents on the table, and asked mama if he could open them, so she gave him a hand.  Wasn’t long till he noticed that they’d changed the living room round a little, by moving a settee and chair round, and our Owen turned round and said “You’ve changed it!” Little kids are ace.  He seemed to have fun with the Remote Controlled Land Rover my I got my mum to buy him, apart from the fact he couldn’t get it to turn, despite my fathers best efforts of teaching him! He’ll learn soon enough I guess.  Our Lewi came round, and so did our Hev, and we all had some Birthday Cake, and then I made my way off home as I was a little knackered.

Work wasn’t too bad on Friday, but me and Maddsy decided to bugger off just after 5, having updated the MM Hire BLOG, being the pair of Rebels we are hehe, and I chilled out for half an hour watching MTV Base’s Top 10 songs of the moment.  Do love listening to that when I get chance, and then decided to get ready for football again.  Must admit the standard of football seems to be getting better the more the non-footballers play, and it is sometimes quite a close game.  Teddy was in net for ages, but nothing of note happened, so once he’d let one in I went in for a bit! Little did I know I’d only concede one in bout half an hour, and only make a few decent saves   Stood chatting to Troy and Teddy for a bit afterwards about this and that, and Teddy mentioned the possibility of starting a team up next season and just getting a load of us to play, as he can use his links with Manor or something (Him being a teacher there or sommat  )  Spent the rest of the night chatting to a few people scattered round the UK on msn, and spoke to my mum, and sorted out meeting her for our weekly Breakfast in Debenhams HAHA!!

Parked up in the Tesco car-park Saturday morning, and made my way into town to meet my mum (She literally kicks off when I park in the 4-seasons Multi-Story, cos her little legs can’t seem t carry her up the few flights of stairs hehe!  Had a walk round town and I ha,d the what is now usual, 6 piece breakfast and a large Cappuccino! Making me hungry thinking bout it again! Hash Browns, Scrambled Egg, Sausages, Beans and Fried Bread mmmmmmm!  Called round to my mums, and decided to stay there whilst she went to the coffee shop, and had a blast on FIFA 09, being Newcastle and battering the scummy bastard from down the road, and taking great pleasure in fouling the hell out of Cisse and Diouf  Such a child I know   Was really looking forward to the Arsenal s Man Utd match, and it didn’t disappoint! John text me just before the game kicked off, asking if I fancied going to the gym, as he was gonna nip down for a quick session, but I was due to have my haircut, and didn’t have suitable clothing to be pumping iron!  Thought the game was awesome, and it could easily have gone in Man Utd’s favour, but luckily Arsenal hung on, and took the 3 points YAY!! :D

Got to the hairdressers a little early as usual, and found out it was Laura this time.  Had a good chat with Laura bout her new truck and this and that, and then I made my way off home, just after my dad arrived for his haircut haha!  Got home and watched one of my 2 new DVDs! Yes I have bought 2 more, The Bank Job and also I am Legend.  Watched The Bank Job whilst messing about on the olde internet, and then decided to start getting ready for Troys birthday night out :D  First night round Mansfield for a while, and I’d already been warned by Kirsty to make sure I didn’t miss it!!

Kirsty text me when her and Jay were leaving his house, and so I met up with them in 53! Troy was typically late as ever, and then people started to arrive.  Was good to see some people out like the Twins, Mr Kirk (a.k.a. Geoffrey Bubbles in a previous blog post :p ) Ant & Kel, and also bumped into quite a few people I knew from various times in my life like our Lewi’s mate Muff a.k.a. Harry Potter   From 53 we headed upto Yates’s and Vicky met up with us outside!  Bumped into Bagi at the bar, and sent him a text saying he was looking very nice in a gay sort of way  and his mate who was looking over his shoulder kinda looked over at me thinking WTF!! All I got back was “Puff ;)” Which upset me! Bagi used to be fun! Think old age is catching up with him HAHAHA! Headed upto top Spoons after that and then over to Flanagans. As everyone knew the bouncer, he let us queue jump upstairs.  Sat down upthere having a chat with Jay and a few others like Johnny T, and mentioned something to Jay which he has since passed on! Cheers mate  HAHA!  Went over to Liquid, and as usual, for some reason, I nipped over to see Pete, and got a free drinks voucher out of him.  Had a decent time in there, and  bumped into some of Johns mates Day, Orwin and Matt, and they said John had gone home early.  Also got chatting to his mate AC, who plays for Arhcer 703 along with one or two other lads I know, and I mentioned to him who they were playing, and who plays for them, and he suddenly cheered up no end  Was home for boput 20 past 12 tho as I was shattered :(

For some reason even tho I was shattered I managed can’t have been no more than 3/4 hours sleep max :( And So I got up bout 10ish and got ready to go and watch Archer 703 vs Cockle.  Was pissing it down, and my hands and feet were going numb, but I was enjoying chatting to the Archer linesman, who I’ve known years, and who went with Our Stef and them to the Chesterfield vs Mansfield game, and thus told me he got a free ride back on the executive coach as my previous story  HERE

Bit of a write up from the Cockle Match Report…

Archers pressure finally paid off, and with the red mist still surrounding Mitch’s head he was found to be wondering out of position which allowed the Archers forward to out pace Little Jon and fire a ball across the goal which “Luca Toni” aka Big Jon slid in to defend and put the ball into his own net. - AWESOME OWN GOAL TO BE HONEST JOHN MATE!!!

97 min - Ryan North (7/10)
Ryan North glanced home the header off his bird’s nest following a cracking delivery into the box from an Alan Smith free kick. Ryan (who looks more like he should be in Mcfly every week) left the keeper stranded. - His hair was a mess by the end of it! - NORTHY’S GOAL WAS A PRETTY GOOD HEADER!!!

Got round to my mum and dads, and my dad had already finished his golf (To be honest I think it started raining, so they cried off home, or at leas he did… FAIR-WEATHER PLAYER!!)  And then the latest revelation came out! My MOTHER thinks I should be paying board, as I seem to be round eating all their food.  But what was really said was my sister thought I should be charged for my Sunday dinner!!! And it should be “Buy one… Get one Free” so she could have the free one   Had a good laugh watching the Blackburn vs Chelsea game as it was bucketing it down with rain. and the ball sometimes got stuck in puddles that were slowly appearing! It’s a shame we’re too quick to call off games when there is a bit of bloody water on the pitch! Unlike Spain where they just give it a shrug, and get on with it, like the Malaga vs Barcelona game showed a few weeks ago

As this pic from goal.com shows!!  Was quietly confident for the Newcastle game until I saw the team announced, and they spoke to JFK and he said Steven Taylor wasn’t playing! He’s looked pretty solid with Colo alongside him in recent weeks, and Cacapa just fills me with dread whenever he gets near the ball! My fears were to be reality, when for some inexplicable reason he stooped to head away a ball that would have floated out for a goal-kick, you’d expect him to get a good distance on it, but he headed it STRAIGHT AGAINST Colo, and it fell just right for Andy Johnson to smash it first time between Shays legs  Back to our shambolic best, regarding defending!!  Got a lucky goal back via Shola, but then Cacapa showed the strength of a 3 year old kid, to be gently pushed out the way by Andy Johnson, before Colo felled the England front-man in the box!! Of all the people to give a chance to go down in the box, only Gerrard would have gone down easier

Left my mum and dads feeling slightly deflated at the result, but not shocked, as the last few results seem all so familiar! We show alot of promise, take 2 steps forward, and then one back :(  Why Charlie N’Zogbia is constantly left on the bench when Damien Duff just seem to run into an invisible wall, stopping and ruining any chance of a quick counter-attack   Got home and watched I Am Legend for a bit in bed, before trying to get some sleep! Didnt manage too well, and felt shattered as hell Monday morning! Turned out our Lew and my mum had repeatedly tried to ring me, cos our Lew wanted a lift to Woodhouse! Didn;’t have chance to go to the gym Monday night, as John was working late, but I had a decent conversation with him on the phone later in the evening, and we chatted bout the gym and maybe trying to step it up a bit more now Winter is here, and also his Own Goal HAHA! Chatted to Kirsty and Jay on msn for a bit, whilst watching Spooks, and then deicded about half 11 that I’d be better off in bed! Will add a few photos from our Owens birthday when I get chance later or something :)
