So it’s almost been a week since the last update, apart from the few posts below which I thought I’d brighten up the blog with
So last Tuesday went to the gym for a chest session, and managed to literally break my own body
I’ve already got a dodgy wrist from playing in net during 5-a-side 2 fridays ago, and all was going well, body was beginning to hurt as per usual, until we went on the “Pec Deck” Didnt go too heavy as my arms felt like lead anyway, but bringing it in, I felt my shoulder/left arm suddenly pull! Like a dick I continued a little, but then felt the pain get more and more so stopped. Got home and watched some telly, before trying to go to sleep.
Didn’t really work, as everytime I turned over, I felt a sharpish pain down my arm
Managed a few hours sleep, but didn’t feel the best Wednesday morning! Wednesday night once I’d got home, I watched the Spurs vs Liverpool Carling Cup game and it was awesome! Such Shite defending that I was used to watching with Newcastle  With Liverpools Reserve team soundly beaten by Spurs. Before I got home tho, there was a major operation needed to go down! I Maddsy followed me to my house bout 5ish, then we headed over to his, loaded his rather large ex-telly into the van, and drove it to my house. We managed to struggle to get it into the house, nearly dropping on numerous occassions (due to fucked up shoulder) and then by bout half 6 we were done. Had fun watching Kieran run around like a mad hatter shouting “HI Wiggy!!” as per usual, and Stevie said it’s the first time in about a week that he hadn’t been crying and being a pain in the ass :D Maddsy then set off to Currys to sort out his new TV and everything and ended up having some sort of hissy fit, cos the TV he wanted they didn’t have in stock, altho they had two show models or something, and he was still there after 8 when they were due to close  Sleep was minimal on the Wednesday night also, and at some point in the night I woke up with a sick taste ion my mouth! The sort of acidic taste that makes you feel ill on it’s own
Thursday seemed to drag on forever, and even once I’d finished work, and decided against further punishment atthe gym, I still couldn’t get a decent nights sleep! Even tho I was in bed by 9, I was wide awake watching a DVD till gone 11 :evil:Â Friday was pretty much the same apart from the fact just after dinner Maddsy decided to drop the small bombshell that he had booked the afternoon off
Thats for the prior warning haha!! By 5:10 I was chatting to Wendy and Dee and then decided to bugger off home and get ready for some more Friday Night Football. Went in net for a bit, but played crap and even when I came out I was shocking to be fair, as my trainers didn’t provide all that much grip so I was more like Bambi on ice! Did manage to crop Bold tho which was amusing  Near the end I stretched for a ball a little too much and felt something tweak at the back of my knee, and for the rest of my friday evening it was a little sore. Before football I rang my mum as I was gonna go over if they were still going ahead with having a visitor stay over. I’d not seen my brothers God-father for years, who was also named Lewis White! My dad had been through Uni with him, and they still keep in touch from time to time, but they met up in the afternoon instead
Boooooooo! Ended up sat chatting on msn for a bit, due to lack of menetary funds to do little else  Scrolling through the Movie channels, and I saw one of my fave films was on. American History X I think is awesome, but I still turn my head away when he has the guy biting the kerb, then in a Gears of War execution style “Head stomp”
Saturday was pretty much a loss, with me having a right old lazy day, watching Football on the telly, and managing to watch half the 2nd half of the Newcastle game. Heard from the some guys on the net that we were playing really shite, and didn’t deserve to get back in the game, but in the 2nd half we looked a little better. Little Michael Owen came on, and missed a sitter, before having a decent headed chance saved, before showing he’s not lost his predetory instincts, with a poachers goal, when Kirkland saved an Ameobi shot full stretch, and the ball just span out his reach and he consigned himself to Little MO getting there before anyone to notch an equaliser. The goal of the game came not long after, when a decent run from the Zog, Who should be getting a game ahead of Duff, fed the ball to Martins just inside the box, who took a touch, then rifled a shot past a helpless Kirkland to give us the lead, in a game we were not really in! The of all the twating people, Titus Bramble pops up with a last minute header, which Duff SHOULD have stopped if he’d gone with his head, rather than trying to get rid of a ball thats chest height using his knee
At half time we’d have taken 1-1, but being 2-1 up with minutes remaining is gutting! 2-2 seems to be JFK’s favourite result at the moment :lol:Â Next up we have a stroll in the park against Chelsea, and I’m really not looking forward to it, having watched them Saturday evening with a chinese!!
For the past week whenever I’d seen John he reminded me that we needed to beat Huthwaite Old Boys when we played them on Sunday morning. They were top of the league, not having tasted defeat in their opening phase of matches, and were looking good, having already beaten Cockle FC 3-1 at Cockle’s ground, and had a very lively 4-4 draw in Huthwaite! A few weeks ago Brad was mentioning that we were entering a time when we were entering a time when we were playing the better teams in the league, and since he’s changed the formation we’ve won 4 out of the last 5 games or something! I think it’s testiment to the fact that we seem to have added a bit more steel into our game, that last season we’d have been walked all over, shown by the mass 20 odd man brawl that almost kicked off! They seemed like the sort of team that just kicks you to intimidate you, and it got a bit too much when some youth just swung his foot at bud, getting nowhere near the ball, and meaning we had to take him off! Dont think he’ll be playing this week
Jock got his marching orders along with their goalkeeper, and there was only about 3 players didnt get involved… Me, their number 9 and Rob our keeper
Brads match report…
Today was the turn of the only undeafeated team left in the division, Huthwaite Old Boys, to visit Healdswood.
One change from the previous week saw Bud start on the left and Willa moved onto the bench. Rotating is something the management trio will have to look at, especially now Jock looks like he could be missing a game or two, but more on that later.
We started the game in fine form and were pressing Huthwaite further and further back into their own half, Smithy had a effort cleared off the line before Scotty’s shot took a deflection and found the back of the net. 1-0.
But taking that early lead seemed to go against us, as to be fair Huthwaite was running the midfield and pushing for an early equaliser and they well have got it had Smithy not ‘professionally’ brought down the nippy Huthwaite forward after he had looked to have got by our big no.4, there were shouts of ‘off, off, off’ from the opposistion but the ref rightly showed the yellow card. You’d have thought Smithy would have took this on board and not commit another foul, however 5 minutes later he was at it again and chopped down the striker again!!! To our amazement Smithy was let off with a warning this time and he was allowed to stay on the field.
Huthwaite were creating chances but stand-in keeper Rob was on hand to get behind anything they could fire at him.
Just as the whistle was about to go for half-time Greg found Sami with a great ball and Sami lobbed the keeper from 15 yards. A great goal!
Half-time 2-0.
Huthwaite came out raring to go and sloppy defending (for once) left the Huthwaite striker at the back post to fire past Rob.
This seemed to spark us back into life and we eventually started playing some cracking football, a great run by Bud ended with a Huthwaite defender taking him out (not for the 1st time) inside the box, up stepped Jock and calmly slotted the penalty away, although the keeper was unlucky not to have got a decent hand to it. This was to be Jocks last contribution to the game, as after Bud had been cropped again, a 22 man plus brawl broke out, with only Wiggy staying out of it haha, punches were thrown and players were pushed and grabbed by the neck, in the end Jock was shown red along with Mr Tumble (Huthwaites goalie) but amazing the player that had cropped Bud in the first place was only shown a yellow, you could get sent down for assault and it would’nt be as bad as what Bud received.
It was to be Buds last involvement as the injury was too much for him to carry on, so on came Willa, with Jock off we left Winty upfront on his-self, Wiggy was soon replaced by Brad due to another injury as Greg was replaced by Craig cause of injury again.
Thanks to a slip by a Huthwaite defender Winty scored and remains joint-top scorer with Scotty, a competition that will be sure to go right to the last game i think.
Today we played a very strong and physical Huthwaite team, who were undefeated and flying at the top of the league, but we took no notice of them and played our own game, which was too good for the current league leaders.
MOM - Smithy - Chosen by Col, another cracking display from Mr consistancy, if he carries on like this he may get a call from a Mr Capello
Goal summary:
7 min - Scott Hart (7/10)
Scott Hart fired home from long range with a well-finished right foot goal, following a through-ball from Sam Whyman.45 min - Sam Whyman (8/10)
A well delivered through-ball from Lee Gregory was converted by Sam Whyman. A first-class finish with the right foot from 18 yards out.72 min - Stephen Kerr (7/10)
Richard Waring is fouled in the box, and Stephen Kerr slotted home with a great right footed finish.85 min - Chris Wint (7/10)
Craig Baguley supplied the through-ball, and Chris Wint found the net from just inside the box with a speculative right footed effort.
Once the game had finished I tried to get hold of John to see how they went on, as they were playing Jolly Friar, who began the day in 3rd, just ahead of us, and half an hour later he rang back saying they’d been cheated big time, and drew 5-5, and Northy had been sent off
Makes things quite tasty at the top, and even tho we’ve played a game more, it’s better to have the points on the board than games in hand!!Went to the pub for a shandy after football for the first time in a while, and had a laugh with the lads, before trying to get hold of Tibbzy, as we’d sorted out me going round to his for an hour or so playing on COD World at War. Unfortunately he’d over run in Notts, and had to call into work to sort some stuff out, so we cancelled for another day, and I headed over to my mum and dads. Surprise surprise our Heather was there as usual, and I’m sure she’d had her dinner there! I ended up eating the spare dinner, and then my mum made possibly the strongest coffee I’ve ever had! Jesus! It certainly woke me up!! Watched the Hull vs Man City game and then headed home to have a nice long bath and relax. Sunday night was another restless night, as was Monday
Hmmm any longer and I think I may go see the doc! I’m gonna go once the football season has finished, as my right knee is giving me a bit of trouble! See what happens
