Ok… I’ll hold my hands up now and admit that I’ve been pretty crap at blogging these past few weeks! Seem to wait a whole week, then cram a whole weeks worth of blogging into one long boring blog
To be honest I’m going through a bit of a “Can’t be really bothered to do much, due to no energy” sort of phase :(Â Anyway its taken me a long time to say this, but I managed to play a part in collecting the first 3 points in an R & K / Rachells shirt on sunday! (more to follow later
) p.s. this is another LONG post
Anyway, Friday night I was chilling after 5-a-side, where I was quite impressed with pinging the ball right into the top corner of the net from bout 18 yards out :D Not been scoring all that many, even tho it’s just a kick-about. No Phil last week, so we’ll see if he’s there this week :) Thoroughly enjoyed the weekend, as it was the first weekend not travelling to Manchester for 2 weeks, and to celebrate I met my mother in town and we she brought me breakfast in Debenhams
(Even tho it was her birthday a few days before-hand) Met up with my sister in town and we had a wander round bumping into a few people including Troy the Ghey, and my Uncle Mick and Aunty Ann, as well as a few neighbours on my mum and dads street. somehow I got talked into giving my mum and sister a lift over to Matalan
No idea how or why, and after that I gave them a lift home and then chilled out for the rest of the afternoon/evening watching the international football :DÂ Good result for England altho they didnt really seem to play that well till the 2nd half.
Got up nice and early sunday morning ready for what I was hoping would be my first start of the season for R&K and we were playing on Manor which wasn’t all that far from my house :D We were playing against Rileys who had beaten us in the first game of the season 3-0, and so we were looking for revenge. Would have been extra sweet, as we were coming up against a lad who I’ve known for years as he used to live on the same street as me  When Brad mentioned the team and that I was to have the number 2 shirt, then explained his formation I thought he’d been smashed over the head by his missus the night before! We were lining up in a 3-1-4-2 formation, with Jock sitting in front of the back 3, which consisted of me, Smithy and Gregg. Bud was another welcome debutant (altho he’d come on as a sub in the previous game, it was his first start for the club, and he helped himself to 2 goals! One was quite a finish too, which I’#d become used to seeing for Sutton RS when we were there a few years ago. I was happy with my 8 rating, and thought Smithy was immense, and it was good playing alongside him, after last season when we never had the sort of commanding CB like him
Match Report…
Five weeks ago we played this team and lost 3-0, today we have won 2-1 and it just shows how far you players are progressing at such an early stage.
After last weeks performance, changes had to take place. Bobby was away, Sami and Craig dropped to the bench and Brad did’nt even make the bench!
In came Wila and Moorey, and making their first starts of the season in came Wiggy and Bud.
I took a gamble today and went for an untried formation in 3-1-4-2 and it seemed to work just as well in the Mansfield league as it does on Champ Manager!
We started the game on fire and hit a couple of efforts just wide of the Home team goal. Then after some great play Smithy found Bud who after skinning 2 players nestle the ball into the bottom corner 1-0.
At this satge we should of increased our lead with Scotty going close on a couple of efforts and Winty hitting the post. However we were made to pay for not taking our chances when a long-ball in our box was not dealt with properly and Smithy gave away a penalty. Although Rob got his fingertips to the ball, it was a well struck penalty and still found the bottom corner of the net 1-1.
Again we had chances just before half-time time but could not find that final bit of composure to finish them.
Half-time 1-1
To be fair to the players, their heads did not go down, after seeing so much of the ball in the first half to come in at half-time level just did’nt seem right and heads could of easily dropped. But they did’nt.
Again we started the second half on fire having the lions share of possesion and creating alot of chances.
Changes were starting to be made with most of the players having given their all, Moorey was the first to be replaced by Sami, then Winty and Willa were replaced by Mark and Craig.
It was not until the 85th minute that we got the goal we deserved, a corner had come back out to Craig who’s shot found Smithy, and after the keeper pulled off a great save to deny Smithy, Bud was on hand to nod it into an empty net 2-1.
Today showed me just how well we can play together and to rip apart a team that was unbeaten and had only conceded 2 goals in the league before today, shows great character. The only downside on today is that it could easily have been 4,5 or 6. But 3 points is 3 points and i’ll take them anyway they come.
I wish the game was being shown on Sky just so Andy Gray could tell us our Possesion and shots on goal, because the chances we created today must have doubled our tally for the season.
MOM - Nick, chosen by Col. There was many players that could have got it today but Nick just edged it with his determination and accuracy at winning the ball.
Well done everyone, next up Innovate at home.
Goal summary:
15 min - Richard Waring (8/10)
Converted from six yards out with a right footed finish, it was a superb individual goal which Richard Waring wont forget! The move started with some clever play from Matt Smith.85 min - Richard Waring (6/10)
Some good work from Matt Smith led to a goalmouth scramble. Richard Waring took advantage by scoring a clinical headed goal from close range.
Once we’d finished I decided against the pub and made my way home to chill out and have a nice rlaxing bath, whilst I spoke to a few people on msn, and ended up watching some more NFL on Sky
During the last week, I only went to the gym on Thursday night, and it was fun to say the least
We decided to try something a bit different and used one of the metal 50kg weights as opposed to 2 20.4kg (45lbs) plates and a 11.3 KG (25lbs) or 3 20.4 kg plates for John
I was dreading trying to lidt it at the start, but soon figured out it’s all in the mind ha ha! Altho I do look a little odd on the picture John took for comedy purposes! The rest of the week was spent chilling out at home on msn speaking to a few folks, including my new friend Sandra from over Dublin way ;) Had a few nice random chats about this and that, and I’ll say she’s a really nice lass, shame she lives in Dublin :p She was texting me Friday night, and the texts got less and less the more drunk she got hehehe! She told me on msn that she had a bad hangover saturday, but still went out till the about 7am sunday night
I remember them days! nowdays I’d rather be tucked up in bed by 11
Football wasn’t as fun as usual on Friday and speaking to John about it neither of us really enjoyed it as one or two people were being a bit too mardy about things! It’s only a kick about FFS! Anyone after that I went home and chilled out for the night, and hoped for an early night ahead of yet another early start on saturday morning heading to Littleborough! Didn’t happen tho as I just didnt seem tired, and it was about 1am when I finally turned the DVD off I was watching in bed, and managed to fall asleep.
Was up at half 5 and made my way down to the unit to pick uip the L200 this time, as Mark had taken the van upto Scotland, and it felt a little weird driving it at first, but it was a nice trip up the M1 to the M62 and across. The journey only took an hour and 20 minutes, so I was there for around 7:10
as I was expecting a drive across the Pennines again like the last few times!! So I ended up sat around for the best part of 40 minutes until Jonathan and his crew arrived. Luckily with it being only 1 marquee, I was on my way home by just after 9 and was home in decent enough time. Had an hour or two on Football Manager 08 before I made myself some dinner and watched the Inverness Caley Thistle vs Celtic game, whilst switching over to the Boro vs Chelsea game from time to time! Saw the first Chelsea goal, but then proceeded to miss the next 4 hahaha! Before I knew it it was time to head back up and pick up the marquee. Everything was fine, until I got towards Huddersfield on the M62 and then the heavens opened. Top this off with the fact a lorry carrying Hay had lost one of it’s bundles right in the middle lane made it a bit dodgy driving round there  Got piss wet through again taking down the marquee for the 2nd time on the trot, and then made my way home, only to get stuck in traffic for half an hour bang next to the junction for the M1 GRRRRR!!! Spent the rest of the night just chilling out and chatting to a few folks on msn before tiredness really did take a hold.
Got up Sunday morning in a hopeful mood, hopeful of continuing on from the previous weeks game, and got to football to find some daft bint had droven into the front of Winty’s car, so he wasn’t best pleased. We kept the same team from the previous week, apart from Sami dropping in for Bud, and we never really got going.
Match Report…
Its going to be a short Match report this week boys on a game that created few chances for either team.
The only change from the previous week was Sami coming in for the absent Bud.
We did’nt start the game too badly and had some good posession, but besides a Scotty effort which went straight at the keeper we struggled to test the away goalie. Innovate got a typical ’smash and grab’ goal, a well struck shot from outside the area went through a crowd of players and found its way into the bottom corner. The only other chance of the 1st half fell to Innovate but Rob superbly tipped round the post in the last action of the half.
Half-time 0-1.
Straight from the kick-off Nick went on a mazy run before hitting a shot just over the bar, if it had gone in it would have surely won our Goal of the Season award.
However Innovate stepped up a gear and soon got a second goal which seemed to kill of any hope we had of getting back into this dire match. Smithy had a chance from a corner but Fisher got a touch onto it and skyed it over the bar from 6 yards out.
A very disappointing result today boys, the thing is we know we can play so much better but we are lacking the consistancy to get back to back wins.
On the other hand, Innovate are are very strong team and will be thereabouts come the end of the season, so to feel disappointed just shows how far we are progressing.
MOM - Smithy, chosen by Col. Matt was one of the few players that actually looked like he had a decent game.
Headed back to my mum and dads for some dinner, and my dad asked me if I fancied joining him and my mum up at the Golf Club, as they were eating round 2ish, and there I was looking like a tramp having been to football, so I knocked that idea on the head haha! Ended up watching the Steel City Derby, and then headed off home to watch Spurs lose to Stoke and end the game with 10 men
 Thus meaning we could pull away from them at the bottom with a decent result against Man City Monday night!
Monday night came, and I got on the phone when I got in from work, to speak to Northern Rock RE a payment I owed them, and it turns out they didnt receive another one! Which has really pissed me off right now, as I’ve had no correspondence from them regarding this matter!!Went to the gym in a bit of a huff, and John seemed to notice I wasn’t myself so I had a bit of a rant, before we chatted about each others games of football from sunday morning! (Really can’t wait till we play them at their ground
)Â Got back home and watched the Newcastle game, and within 10 minutes I was shouting abuse at the telly, and Beye appeared to win the ball, before Robinho collapsed and seemed to try and cheat to make sure the ref gave a red card, as he soon jumped up and slotted the penalty home
I thought the lads played fucking brilliant to say the ref seemed to give most of the major decisions City’s way and if only we could have held on another few minutes
Anyway thats me upto date now! So I’m hoping to blog a bit more soon! Thanks to those who have started leaving comments on my previous post about the ballt of the blogs

It was a weekend of crap refereeing decisions. As a Blades fan, I was disgusted at the Kilgannon red card, which basially cost us the game. The Beye one on Monday evening was even worse. Bring on technology. Those goons are ruining the game.

I knew there was something I forgot to mention, but I was too busy trying to cram the last week and a half into as small a post as I could as not to bore folks
It was a silly red card, but the one for the Wednesday player was great HAHA
