So thats the first round of EURO 2008 matches out of the way, and I’ll say that I’ve seen the majority of the football  and have been very impressed with some of the football I’ve seen. kinda gutted I go away this saturday, as our pre-season training is about to start, and I miss having a joke arsing about with the lads. MOST have a decent sense of humour, altho Gongo takes it all far too serious at times! Anyone would think we were in one of the top divisons rather than bottom of Division 5  That was one of the reasons I left Potters, because I wanted to play football for a laugh on Sunday mornings.

Still gonna go with my first pick, and say Spain. Think they’re due a good tournament, and from their first game they look in great shape. I know history says they normally start like a house on fire, and then fall away just after the group stages, but if they can keep David Villa and Fernando Torres fit then they’ve got the creative midfield to cause anyone problems. Obviously the Germans being their efficient selves will appear in the semis at a minimum.

This week after work I’ve just been chilling out and watching the football if I’m honest. Decided against going to the gym, as I doubt it’d do much ahead of my holiday, so I’ve mainly been sorting a few bits together ready for my packing! Really can’t wait, and I’ve been researching the best bars over in Fuengirola ready :D

Looking to go out tomorrow night for a drink or two with Wayniac and Bagi, as it’s Wayniacs birthday on Monday and with me not being here, decided to go for a few steady ones somewhere like the Junction or something :D

Jun 10

So with John not being able to see, It’s given me a free week from the gym (which will save me a good bit of petrol :D ) So I’m gonna chill out all week, and start getting some things ready for next week.  To be honest it felt like my holiday had started yesterday, atleast temperature wise  Lets say it was quite warm in the office, and even tho we didnt have the air con unit on, as last time it ALLEGEDLY tripped the electrics, It makes very little difference anyway, apart from those who are sat right next to it.

Chilled out last night, watching what was by far the worst and dullest game of the Euros so far! France vs Romania.  From the moment I got in from work and put this game on (bout 20 minutes in) It was evident that the Romanians were there to try and get a point, or frustrate the French into making a mistake and claiming all 3.  Lets say the pundits in the BBC studio were not impressed with the game in the slightest.  Due to being enslaved in the office yesterday I was feeling a little horrible once I’d gotten home, so had the windows open, and went and had a cold bath.  Felt much better after that, and sat chatting to Webbo on facebook whilst we both watched a master-class in Counter-Attack football.  Many people are saying Ruud’s goal was offside, but this article I found this morning on the goal, on the BBC website claims otherwise…

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s opening goal for the Netherlands against Italy provided the first major talking point of Euro 2008.

Van Nistelrooy looked in an obvious offside position when he steered a close-range finish past Gianluigi Buffon to put the Dutch on the way to a crucial 3-0 win in Berne.

Italy coach Roberto Donadoni was gracious, saying: “I accept it. There’s no point crying about it. The referee made a mistake. He’s human.”

Italy’s fans, however, were not as forgiving after watching the incident replayed inside the Wankdorf Stadium in Berne.

But what looked a desperately poor decision was, in fact, a brilliant piece of officiating, according to the chairman of Austria’s refereeing commission Gerhard Kapl and Premier League referees’ chief Keith Hackett.

Both said Van Nistelrooy was played onside by Italy’s Christian Panucci, who had been injured seconds earlier and was lying behind the goal when the Dutch striker scored.

Kapl said the goal was “100% correct, without any doubt”, quoting article 11.4.1. of the refereeing code that states “an opposing player cannot be offside when one of the last two defenders has left the field of play” - as in the case of Panucci.

Hackett added: “I have listened to the commentators criticising the first Holland goal stating that Van Nistelrooy was offside.
Christian Panucci went off through contact with his own goalkeeper Buffon.

“He is still considered part of the game.

“The fact is the assistant was correct. The defender who slid off the field is still regarded as active.”

Kapl added that the rule was specifically designed to prevent a team causing a deliberate offside - but does that tell the whole story?

Panucci was in no way attempting to gain an advantage or deliberately trying to play the Holland attackers onside.

He had actually been knocked behind the goal by a collision with his own goalkeeper Buffon, so where does the law stand on that?

I have only one small problem with that…. Are defending teams not meant to try and cause a deliberate offside?  Anyway the other 2 goals were awesome, and involved Giovanni van Bronkhurst, belting down the wing from his left-back spot

Bagi has told me this morning that his missus Carla has been to visit, and thinks that she can use this to find out all the mischief me and Bagi get upto when we’re out on a night out… Disclaimer time… Non of these events are factual.  I made them up   Only joking.  He told me to say hello tho, so “Hello Carla”

First of all… Happy birthday from Saturday to Bagi, who’s well into his 30’s by now

So Saturday morning, got up earlyish and headed over to work to get stuck into all the artwork I’ve got to get sorted for this week!! Cracked Itunes open on the mac, and set about getting as much artwork done as possible :D Managed to get a whole lot sorted, altho the printer kept fucking up after a bit, which was annoying, but I think I’ve sorted it now! Anyway thats a lot less I have to worry about this week now, just making sure the printer dont fuck up, and I keep it printing the stuff Crit needs

From there I nipped over to my mums for 5 minutes before going to have my haircut (again). Claire decided against changing the style this time, but says that she’s gonna have a good thing about changing it next time I go in, so gave her an extra week to think about it  From there I decided to go and see how Maddsy was going on with his decking, and I was a little surprised to see how much he’d got done and everything. He almost killed his dog, by tripping over th lead, whilst said dog was asleep, and the batteries on the drills decided that enough was enough, when he had about 3 more screws left to put in HAHA! It was quite funny watching him trying to saw some of the posts to the same level as the base. Being as knackered as I was I decided it’d be better if I went before Stevie and the kids got back from dancing, cos I couldnt cope with Dylan and Kieran running round after me, so headed off home to watch the start of the Euros :D Sorted out with Bagi what time and where we were meeting, and where we were heading for a night of birthday festivities, and Chez-Vegas was his port of choice!

Whilst chilling out at home for a bit, I got a text off John asking if I fancied hitting the gym for a bit, so as I hadn’t been since Tuesday night I jumped at the bit, and he said it’d be in about an hour. After bout half an hour I got bored of being at home waiting, so headed over early, and decided to do some work on my legs (Which are still hurting now! Also not a good idea when you’re gonna be dancing later that night too!!) Had a good session on the chest, before I headed over to my mum and dads to get ready (namely cos I wanted a shirt ironing  ) Got there to find out my mother had bailed on me, and I had just under 45 minutes to get ready, fill up with petrol and make my way to the Junction near Kirkby! Luckily enough I managed it, with me ironing my own shirt for the 2nd time in 3 weeks  Check my bad self!

Met up with Wayniac, Bagi, and their mates Ian and Tony, and then we made our way over to Chez-Vegas. Took bout 20 minutes and we were parked up round the back of Wetherspoons, with a parking fee of £1.10!!! RESULT!! Anyway we decided to start off in Spoons and had one in there before making our way over to Barracuda. Was feeling knackered at the start of the night, but after a few Pepsi’s I soon woke up :D Headed to S41 and text Nic and said I was out again, and she said meet her in the Courtyard at half 9! Only problem being non of us knew where the hell it was, so we went to a few more pubs instead :( Including Slug and Fiddle, The Beach Bar, Mojo’s (walked in and straight back out again… IT STUNK) Yates’s where I bumped into MArc Stevens and Harry Potter (Paul Marriot) and some lasses from Mansfield, on top of bumping into Bud and Ian from Hill Crescent, and another lad called Carl Davis I know from Rainworth

Near Escapades there was this lass who was wasted asking if we had a fag she could have. Ian put his arm round me and said “you can smoke him if you want?” She took a cigarette instead. We could tell she was wasted, as her short skirt had risen more than it should, and you could see pretty much all her thong  Proper classy bird. Wayniac meanwhile was chatting to these 2 birds, and asked me how old I thought they were. I guessed at 19/20ish only to find out that they were 15, and on their way home

Bout half 10 Bagi decided he wanted to go into the club already, so not being ones to dissapoint, and the fact it was his birthday, we all agreed. Drinks kept flowing, and we had a great time alternating between the 3 floors. In the R&B bit I bumped into Nab again! Once again he was showing off that he had his VIP band on *yawns* Got to about 1:15 and we were ready for going, as Bagi could hardly stand up hahaha!! We text Ian saying we were going for some food, but then Bagi turned round and said “Fuck it he’s loaded. He can get a taxi :? ” So me, Wayniac and Bagi ended up leaving Chesterfield without the other 2  Drove into Mansfield as I fancied some food, and Wayniac decided to pretend to nick some of this lasses chips, to which he got a reaction from her and her fella!! Great… back in Mansfield I see. Waynac got a lift home with some entity going by the name of “Mono-brow” and I fancied Subway, only to find a massive queue, and these women going for it arguing and shit, so we decided to call it a night. Got home bout 10 past 2, and couldnt sleep for abit, so ended up chilling with a dvd on till I nodded off.

For some reason still found myself awake at 9am, with the sun beating through my window, so I decided to get up and by 10 I was on my way for some Macdonalds breakfast. When at the gym Saturday, John mentioned that him and his mate Northy were gonna go gym Sunday afternoon, so John could show him some routines we did. got there just after 12, and we had a good session for an hour and a half. This proper killed me tho, so I went over to my mum and dads with the intention of having a shower, but found myself asleep on the settee watching Rush Hour, before deciding I’d be better off at home  Spent the rest of the evening watching the 2 Euro Championship games on the BBC, and was quite impressed with how the Austrians played, baring in mind everyone thought they’d be the most boring team in the tournament!! Gutted to see German beat Poland, but it was always gonna happen wasn’t it  Had a cold bath and then put Anchorman on till I fell asleep.

Already we’re in June! My god the time really is flying.  At this rate I’ll be 30 and single before I know it, and the only comfort I’ll take out of that is that Maddsy and Becca Musson will have reached that landmark before me   Anyway its been another boring-ish week if I’m honest.  Since Monday night I’ve been to the gym once, on Tuesday, when we worked on the back (only just stopped aching from Monday’s  proper good chest workout HAHA).  Slowly got bored with the wrestling application on facebook, altho you can guarantee Maddsy is on it all the time, either that or Bowling! I have taken quite a likening to the bowling application, but my computer at home is running vista, and it’s very temperamental.  Saying which I noticed that Mozilla have released candidate 2 of Firefox 3, so I have installed it and decided to give it a whirl.  Hopefully the newer version will be available on “Download Day 2008″ which is sometime soon, when they’re hoping to break the record for most downloads in a single day   Geeky-ness apart…

Wednesday I chilled out for the evening, as John had been on a “Mansfield Safari” and hadn’t gotten home in time.  Nipped up to Asda, got some money out, and then headed to the shop, before calling into the chippy to get myself some tea. Stuck Kill Bill on, and sat messing about on the internet with first Kill Bill 1, then Kill Bill 2 on in the background  Ended up chatting to Kay and Emzi on msn for a bit, before heading off to bed.  Work is becoming increasingly busy again, which is about right with my weeks holiday fast approaching! The major dilema being posed at the miunte is not “Who am i signing for next season” as thats about the only question Maddsy is asking me at the minute (other than “You getting the drinks in”) but do I take my mobile phone on holiday with me! At this moment I’m thinking no!

Thursday I got in from work, and headed over to Tesco to fill up with some extremley over-priced petroleum before meeting John over at the gym.  Reached into my wallet to get my bank card, only to find it wasn’t there!  Thought “OH FUCK” And so headed home, pretty much on an empty tank at this point   Turned the house up-side down, as well as the car, wondering if it had fell out of my pocket when I got into the car or something.  No such luck!! ARRRGGGHHH.  Retraced my steps, from when I last remember having my card, and no-one had handed it in in either the shop or the chippy, so I raced back home and phoned Natwest who were very helpful, cancelled the card, and then told me I’d have a new one, ready activated sent by a courier in the next 2-4 working days! Bang before I go on holiday! Altho I’m not happy at having lost it in the first place grrrrr! :(  My mum and dad nipped round after they’d been shopping, as they’d lent me some money to sort 2 new tyres out on the Integra, and lent my dad my Matrix trilogy so he can stick it on his new posh I-touch thingy-ma-jiggy.

Today I’ve been busy as hell at work, and not had much chance to get the artwork done that Crit needs for Monday, and baring in mind next week I’ve gotta go through everything with Zoe to refresh her mind, on top of doing a shit load of artwork, AND design and quotes as well, I’m gonna be a very busy man!  Had a chat with Olstar about some bloke from russia it appears, who had managed to insert certain things into the code on my blog headers and things! I did wonder why it was odd that people were searching yahoo, google or MSN for Viagra, or other pharmacutical delights, and coming across my blog  So as I’d caught 0lly on a good day, he’s designed this wonderful theme for me! Cheers brother :D :D :D  Took my car down to the units below, and had some new tyres stuck on the car, and we’re all road legal again   Tonight I’ve been for a kick-about, and was due to go and see Olly and Gemma, but they’d got back from shopping, and decided they were too tired for visitors! Will defo visit sometime this weekend I reckon.  Did get to have a bit of a chat with Phil and Liam :D

Tomorrow I’ll be at work for most of the morning, and then nipping to Rainworth to have my haircut, before possibly heading over to Maddsy Titchmarsh’s to check out his new garden!!

Found where I’m going in Spain, and quite looking forward to it now…

Well it’s that time of year again! Almost summer which means another fucking dose of BIG BOTHER!  God I hate this show!!!  Specially as I was pretty much forced to watch it for 3 years   Anyway I can not stand this program, and am boycotting Channel 4 and E4 for the next however many weeks till its over!

Right! Bit of a rant coming up!

Basically before Bex left we got a letter from the electricity company, saying our current direct debit of x amount was not enough, and they recommend that we change our direct debit, as it was not covering the amount of electricity we were using.  Without giving it a second thought I left it at that.  Now I’ll admit to one thing, I hardly ever pay any attention to my bills, and as long as there is a direct debit set up making sure the bills are covered, and that I have enough money in my account to cover this I leave it at that.  Anyway, by chance I happened to notice my Electricity bill whilst looking for something else in my file of bills and random things.  Basically over x amount of months I’ve managed to get myself nearly £300 in credit with them!  The cheeky thing is they dont send you letters telling you!  They just sit there watching your money fill up! Cheeky twats! Anyway I decided enough was enough, and that I wanted to lower my payments and also wanted the money back, as it would serve a better purpose in my bank account rather than theirs!  Rang them and explained that I’ve been paying far too much over how ever many months it’s been, and that I wanted to lower my payments.  All OK according to the bloke, but lets see how easy it is to get them to part with my money! Hmmmm.  Anyway that was on Monday.  Thursday I walk through the door, and they had sent me a bloody letter.  Claiming that as part of their REGULAR REVIEW of my account, THEY have come to the conclusion that x quid a month is far too much, and that they suggest Y quid a month instead! Which just so happened to be the same amount that I TOLD THE ON THE PHONE I wanted to pay! :?  So do they only review peoples account if they ring up and want money back?  Also I’m due another bill later this month, so not gonna chase my money, until I know what they next bill is, and how much I’m in credit with them!  IF it’s a substantial amount, and it takes forever to get the money out of them I’ll just visit uswitch.com, and change my supplier!  I just couldnt believe the cheek of the letter!!

Jun 5

Had an email through off this bloke, who said he’d been on my blog, and noticed I enjoyed writing bout football, and directed me HERE Was welcomed straight away by Mani who has set it up, and he told me he’s trying to make it into quite a large football supporters community of all nations.  So I thought I’d introduce myself with a topic that we’ll no doubt hear about all summer, along with the “Will he.. won’t he” Ronaldo to Real Madrid transfer saga….

Seems no-one wants the new Chelsea job.  Ancelloti ruled himself out the other day, and now Roma coach Spalleti has seemingly said he’s not interested in the job.  Why does it appear some managers are not wanting the Chelsea job? Could it be the interference from Mr Abromovich? or his insistance for “Sexy” football.  Guess we’ll find out soon enough.  Also Will Mourinho test Chelseas resolve and willingness to build on their runners up tag last season, with a few bids for some of their players!  Should be an interesting summer down at the Bridge!!

We shall have to see indeed!!
