I am a part of all that I have met.

So continuing from Sundays post

Finished watching the Chelski vs Arsenal game, and was a bit gutted that Arsenal lost! Would have preferred them to have won, and taken it to the wire between them and the Mancs, but maybe it’s a season too early, and if they can keep the same team together next season they’ll be mentally stronger.

Sorted out going out Sunday night with John, Caz and his mates, and said I’d be round at Caz’s for bout half 7. I was gutted that I hadn’t had time for a power nap, and by the time I’d gotten out the bath, and actually Ironed my Cardigan and Jeans, It was best part of 7pm! Quick chat to Lizzie on msn and I was away! Quite surprised by how much snow was on my car  Parked up at Caz’s and within seconds, their neighbour was out in the doorway telling me that I can’t park there, cos I was blocking him in! My reply of “I’m only gonna be there 2 minutes mate, I’m picking my mates up” had him scuttling indoors again  Went over to the Badger Box for a drink, and to meet Johns mate, and bout 8ish the funbus came to pick them up. John went into town with his mates, and I drove me, Caz, Orwin and their mate Matt into town. Poor Caz wearing shorts looked a bit cold, and thinking bout it I could have dropped her and the others off outside 53, rather than parking up at Dee’s and walking down with them! Altho then I wouldnt have been able to chat to her

Mansfield was rammed sunday night, and it was great to bump into loads of old footy mates, who were out with their teams, or old mates I’d not seen in a while. Ended up going upstairs in 53, as they’ve re-opened it to the general public, rather than seedy old men like myself  Altho the decor hasn’t changed one bit. Bumped into Master Taylor in 53, and he was wasted as always! Moaning as always haha! After bumping into a few more folks in 53, including Jez Kabia, looking his gangsta best  We headed off to Wetherspoons, and stayed in there for a good few hours, laughing and joking. Blaine FINALLY made an appearance bout 11ish and everyone was getting quite drunk, even tho it took best part of 40 minutes to get served in Spoons  Met Johns mate Northy and Smithy, and for some unknown reason John decided to introduce me to Orwins Sister! He aint got a clue why even now  Me, Northy and Smithy ended up chatting about Newcastle, and who our best forward is. Smithy said Viduka, Northy said Owen, and I think it’s Martins hahaha!

From Wetherspoons, we headed over to Liquid, and it was prob the first time in a long time we had to queue up outside. once we got in it was RAMMED! At one point you could hardly move, and were getting knocked from pillar to post. Turns out it was Jackass night in Liquid, and Pete and the DJ had come up with a few games. Including 2 blokes in their boxers, having jump leads attached to certain parts of their bodies OUCH!! Left Liquid bout 2:45ish, and made our way to the car. Decided to nip to MacDonalds, only to find that it was shut when we got there DOH!!

Woke up Monday morning bout 8ish, and as much as I tried to stay in bed, I was wide awake, and found myself watching the end of Season 5 of One Tree Hill so far (gotta wait till 14th April for next episode  ) Spent all morning chilling, and tidying the house a little, before heading over to my mum and dads for dinner. Our Lewi was there, and Our Tyrone came through the door too  He really did put his foot in it with his comment the other day our Stef. Got home later that afternoon, and found myself falling to sleep on the settee. Spent best part of the evening chatting to Emzi on msn whilst watching the Top Gear does Ground Force from Sport Relief. Jesus it was soooo funny

Tuesday was my last day off for a while, prob until Geoffrey wants to take some holidays *rollseyes* and I spent the day tidying, and sorting through loads of washing and things, before heading over to the gym for a shoulders session. Was a good workout, made even better by this brunette walking in hehehe! Had a chat with John and Blaine, and I thanked Blaine for the bottles of water he’d decided to buy me in Liquid Sunday night, and I was reminding them of some of the things that went off, as their minds appeared a little hazy hahaha! Got home, and found myself watching a few episodes of CSI on telly, whilst playing Scrabble on Facebook against Maddsy, and chatting to a few folks on msn. MY chat with Maddsy basically went…

Maddsy “Your turn”

Me “Your turn”

Maddsy “u”

Me “u”

HAHAHA it was one of the most riveting conversations ever :D

True Faith Match Report from Saturdays game against Fulham :D

Match Report

Fuckin’ relief! A week ago we looked firmly in the shite and nothing less than four points from Brum and Fulham would have done. Well, we’ve got it and while the job is far from complete, there can be pats on the back and sweet tasting ales all round because we thoroughly deserved the win here and judging by the way other results have gone this weekend it could be even more vital than first thought.

A mental day weather-wise greeted the same starting XI that had started at St. Andrews to the pitch at SJP with sun/sleet/hail/snow cropping up every two minutes and for once we had the perfect start. Viduka is undoubtedly a flaky character in my opinion and has been absent at times when we needed him most but there is no doubting his ability and it was proved six minutes in when he took a touch and bent a great finish past octogenarian Kasey Keller. You could almost feel the relief although given what has passed at home this season we were never going to be safe with one goal. That said, we had the better of the first half. Bullard was Fulham’s only real attacking threat and in the main he was limited to long range efforts. Fair play to him though, he’s a likeable fella and today he was absolutely everywhere, picking the ball up deep, getting out on the wing and pushing forward to be a real nuisance. The sort of chap that would make a fucking good signing in fact!

We should have been further ahead at half time than just the one. Firstly a real scramble from a corner saw Faye acrobatically firing just across the face of the goal and then Owen missed an absolute sitter, presumably stunned by an accurate Geremi cross and forced into heading straight at Keller with little conviction. In the middle, Barton and Butt were also heavily involved and this was turning into comfortably Joey’s best match for NUFC with glimpses of class, albeit still two yards off the pace.

Sitting on a one nil lead, the crowd were edgy in the second half but in truth we dominated the game without getting the breakthrough we deserved. Barton came close, Owen and Oba looked a threat up front together and Beye and Enrique did their best to get up the flanks. Fulham were severely limited by their front two being utter toss and it was a mark of both utter stupidity and expectation that the crowd groaned (and I’m being kind) when Martins was taken off for N’Zogbia. It wouldn’t even be true to say that Geremi had been shite second half (his corner kicking aside, which is absolutely fucking rank) but the consensus amongst a minority seemed to be that we should play with four out and out attackers, at one nil up with fifteen minutes to go in an absolute must win game. Make your own conclusions.

Ironically, the change or lack of paid dividends not long after when Geremi found Owen with a great whipped free kick and which was headed home to mass and audible relief. Good finish, great cross and an almost unique situation of sitting for five minutes of a football game at SJP chilled out and happy. You have to savour these moments man! We played the game out comfortably and make no mistake, this was an absolutely huge three points. The results at our end of the table meant that anything other than victory would have left arses seriously twitching but we look a lot safer and importantly, from half time onwards at Birmingham, seem to have found some confidence from somewhere.

We still have some massive games ahead but there is at least a semblance of belief back that we can get through to summer unscathed and try to put right this absolute shambles of a season. Let’s say the same as we did this time last Saturday – four points from the next two games are all important. We’ve won the battle, but the war is not yet over.

Keep the Faith

Man of the Match – Barton – Positive publicity? Fuck me, I’ve seen it all

Ref – Wiley – 7 - Singer of an extremely catch tune ‘Next thing she’s wearing my Rolex…’ and had literally nowt to do. Good stuff

Their fans – 3 – Too easy to take the piss, so fair play to the ones that turned out!
