Caz’s Birthday Antics and much much more…

OK So not had an update for a while, apart from the shock news from Field Mill (is it soon the be the Dragons Lair?? ) about a possible take-over and name change!!

So what exactly have I been upto? Find out below haha!

So Wednesday was my first day back after an extended weekend, and it’s safe to say I didnt recharge my batteries as I’d have hoped :( Mainly due to late nights, and the fact that I just cant seem to have a lie in to save my life, and find myself awake at about 8am even when I have nothing to wake up for (most of the time, unless it’s football on sundays or work! )

Geoffrey was his irritable best for most of Wednesday. Got to one point, where I was sorting some artwork out for Crit, so he could print it that day, and he ended up moaning like a fucker to Mark, wanting to know why I couldnt do any of his work in the tray *rollseyes* So Mark came and sat with me in the other office, and asked if there was any reason why he was in a mood, so i basically turned round and said.. “Yeah I’m not doing work for him at the minute” This really annoys him. Anyone would think Geoffrey is the one running the company at times, the way he tries to force people to do things for him, so I decided to wind him up for a bit  The rest of the day was spent taking as long as possible to do anything that involved Geoffreys work, just to piss him off that little bit extra

Didnt go to the gym Wednesday night, cos John wasn’t feeling too well, so i nipped out in the car and dropped Season 4 off for Sami, so she could watch the episodes she’d missed, and then I came back home and chilled out with a nice relaxing bath. Got a text or two bout 1ish from a rather excitable person, saying she’s now seen all of season 4, and wondered when she could have season 5 to watch

Thursday I was cream-crackered at work, due to being woken up by a text message or two the previous night, but the day went fast enough, and without any major hiccup haha! No gym Thursday night either, cos John was still suffering from the plague or what ever it is he’s caught from Dan at work hahaha! Altho I nipped to see Sami again, and dropped off another disc for her. Sorted some tea out, and having spoken to John on Tuesday in the gym, when he commented on how my shoulders are getting quite big now, he suggested trying to do some press-ups to try and help develop my arms a bit more or something, so put a bit of music on, and found myself doing a few press-ups. It’s so much harder trying to exercise in your own front room  There are always so many distractions, i.e. TV, Internet, or messing about with Windows Media Player to find the bloody song that you want HAHA! Ended up receiving more texts till bout 3am, not that I minded tho, in some odd way

Felt it all day Friday, and I was knackered as hell!! But nothing was gonna stop me from being out in town that Friday night! Specially having made stupid excuses to miss Caz’s 21st birthday party last year, I wasn’t gonna bail on her this year. Even tho I knew who was going out, and that it could be awkward, I was still intent on proving I’m mature enough to go out with all them lot, and not cause a scene :) OK Maybe I still had feelings for her when it was Caz’s 21st, but oh how things have changed in the last year :)

Decided to nip round to my mums before going out, so she could iron my shirt and jeans, cos I did wanna look my best after all  As I sorted some tea out, John text me, and asked if I fancied picking him up, and maybe heading to the Badger for a drink or something before meeting everyone in 53 bout 8:30. Gave me 45 minutes to have my tea, and get ready, but that was never a problem! Meant that I wasn’t sat around waiting, cos if there is one thing I hate, its waiting for something or someone who’s getting ready

Got round to Johns bout 8ish, and the weather was miserable. He was half dressed, and so I sat myself down and chuckjled away at the Simpsons whilst he was getting ready. Once he was ready we set off into town, via Day’s to pick him and Amy up, before heading down to 53. To save everyone from getting wet, I decided to stick the car bang outside 53 in the parking bay  Got into 53, and Caz was already in there with Bex, some of her workmates, Will, Pete and Dan. Wished Caz a Happy Birthday, and she told me she was dissapointed that I hadn’t sent her a text at 9 in the morning, wishing her a Happy Birthday and that  So I made an excuse and said she may get one later in the night if she was lucky haha! After sitting downstairs for a bit, we moved upstairs, which has not changed since they stopped the Lap Dancing, and we all sat in the booth where the fun would normally happen  Pete was gonna dance for John, but decided against it. HAHAHA! After a while we all decided to move onto Yates’s, so i nipped the car round to Dee’s and met everyone in there. After taking an age to get served, the girls decided to head over to Cheeky’s or something, whilst we went and chilled out in Wetherspoons. Sent Caz a text basically saying “OK I’ve succumbed. Happy Borthday Young Carolyn, Hope you’ve had a great night” To which she thought I was leaving, so said that she’d hoped I’d had a good night, and would see me soon :? We laughed about it when the girls came over to Wetherspoons to meet us, and I told her that after missing her party last year, there was not a cat in hells chance I was missing this one!! After a laugh and a joke in there for an hour or two, a few of the lads headed over to Cheekys, whilst me, Will, Dan and Day headed into the Late Lounge.

It was packed in there, and it wasn’t long before this Hen Party waltzed in, and it just so happened to be Mel who used to work at our place’s hen night!! Poor Lyndsey was wasted, as was one or two others! And I’ll admit to almost wanting to hide, when Lisa and Elaine came up to try and talk to me  I cant be associated with them in a club with my mates! I have a small thing called social status HAHAHA  Anyway Lyndsey had decided enough was enough, and she’d better drag herself home, not without bending over to say bye to me, and falling off the step and flat onto her arse  What was funnier was her attempt to blame John for it, even tho he was stood about 5 yards away from her! Bless. Left the Late Lounge just before 2 and said by to everyone, and was shocked to get a bye back from Bex, as she’d said nothing to me all night! To me it felt like she couldnt even look at me most of the night, let alone speak more than 2 words to me :? John and Day had something from the chippy, and tried their upmost to get Gravy and Beans all over my car seats, but failed miserably  By the time I’d dropped John and Day off and got myself home it was bout half 2, and I just couldnt sleep, so found myself watching 2 episodes of One Tree Hill Season 1 till about 4am

Pete and Dan… Caz always one for a Photo

John and Caz… Yours truly, looking as good as ever

Day looking scary as he always does on photos… a rather wasted Will

More Pics

Found myself woken up bout 6am, by these birds that have nested in my attic grrrrrr. I could hear them tweeting away, and one or two hit the window which startled me. Managed to grab another hour, before the alarm went off bout 8ish, and dragged my carcass ot of bed, and got ready for a few hours overtime at work. Thank God I hadn’t been drinking Friday night, or I’d never have made it to work, let alone McDonalds for my breakfast  Got to work bout half 8, and Al was already in, and Crit was in bout 9ish, followed by Dee. Managed to get quite a bit of artwork sorted out, as i’m getting busier and busier, and the more designs and quotes I end up doing, and we sell = more artwork. So as you can imagine! Mid-show season and i’m pretty bloody busy! Once I’d had enough at work, it was about half 12, so I headed over to Tesco to treat myself to a new DVD, and ended up buying 2  “American Gangster” and “I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry” Also bought one or two vitals things, like ermmm Milk and Bread, and had a bit of a chat with Sami before heading home to chill out and watch some more of the Box Set she’d lent me :D

Watched the Man United game, or should I say first half, before I nodded off for the best part of 45 minutes, to wake up and find 15 minutes left haha! Good old Ronaldo has helped my dream team, along with David James saving a penalty Whoooooo!!! Spent the rest of the night, chatting to one or two folks on msn, whilst ignoring Bagi’s texts calling me a pussy and gay for not wanting to go out Saturday night! Somehow managed to stay awake to watch Match of the Day, and then changed all my clocks, so I didn’t miss football the following day :D

Woke up, to find a missed call from Maddsy, as far as I know, trying to wake me up and make sure I was at football on time, even tho Bobby had sent me a rather kind text message earlier Saturday evening reminding me  So got my shit together, and rolled on to the Staff of Life to meet the lads :D There was a nice relaxed atmosphere before the game, even tho no-one really knew where they were playing, and everyone just grabbed a random shirt, which shows when you’re number 11 shirt is at right-back (me) and your number 9 is at left-back (maddsy) hahaha! Before the game was the usual antics! Me rolling about in the net getting my shirt filthy, made more determined by finding out that Stevie was washing the kit  For some reason the lads really clicked yesterday, and we all seemed to enjoy it, and played with a laugh and smile on our face, which is something that has been missing for a while. Moorey seemed to do a good enough job in the absense of Bagi, who was being a big gay bear, claiming he couldn’t see due to him being a little hungover haha! We did really well as a team, and ended up winning 4-1. Lets hope we can keep pretty much the same team for the next friendly against “Annesley Park Athletic” And hopefully we can keep pretty much the same squad together for next season, and see what happens (maybe Brad can spend a prolonged spell on the bench *fingers crossed anyway*  Anyway… I felt me, Bobby and Scotty kept the team flowing

Match Report..

Our first friendly of 3 ended with a very confident and comfortable display.I arranged these friendlies to give players that are not in the team a chance to shine and also try a few new guys for next season. However on Sunday morning we only had 11 players anyway.Moorey was chosen in nets,Greg was on the left wing,Nick dropped into defence for the injured Rob and newboy Jock got a surprise start on his debut.

We started the first half abit shaky, i think alot of the players’ heads just were’nt on it, being that it was a friendly and i’d only just named the team 5 mins before kick-off. Our shaky start was short lived and we soon began to control the game.

We were passing the ball around superbly, with neat one and two touch passes and also we were’nt afraid to have a run at them aswell.

Our first goal was a product of our sharp passing with about 5 or 6 players touching the ball before Jock fed Winty for his first of the game. We got another goal just before half-time thanks to the alert Malc who pounced on a short backpass to put us 2-0 up.

Half-time 2-0.

We started the second half as we left the first half with some cracking passing moves, at one point we must of put together about 15-20 passes without The Red touching the ball.

Malc added his second early into the 2nd half after good work from Jock once more and a bursting Nick run and through pass lead to Winty getting his second goal.

The Red were restricted to long range shots as our defence stood their ground, they did get a consolation goal late on when although their player looked offside, the ref kept his whistle down and The Red player finished cooly under the impressive Moorey.

After the game we had a penalty shootout and Moorey was our hero with a save and Jock scored the winning penalty. 5-4 in the shootout, scorers as follows:

Maddsy

Brad

Malc

Moorey

Jock

Man of the Match - Jock, an impressive debut to say he has’nt even kicked a ball since pre-season which was rewarded with 2 assists. Well done pal.

Decided that as we were playing on the Acre, that I may as well make the most of the opportunity, and get myself into the gym for a good session on the chest, specially as John still aint feeling too good, so I’ll struggle to find the motivation to go in the week  Had a decent enough session, altho I didnt wanna over-do it. After doing the usual circuit, I decided enough was enough and exited lol. Tried to ring my mum upon leaving the gym, to see if they were home, cos I knew they’d been to a family members Silver Wedding Anniversary down in Stoke or something, but she never replied, so I headed over there anyway, as I was gonna have a shower and chill out. Got there, and it turned out they didnt stay down in Stoke like I thought, and my dad had driven back the same night. Seems our Owen really enjoyed himself, once he’d woken up, after a sleep in the car = him being a bit ratty when he woke up. He even got up and started dancing to the Macarena and the Cha Cha Slide  Would loved to have got some videos of that or something, but never mind :D Had some dinner, and watched some of the Chelsea game whilst doing Jigsaws with our Owen, then decided I needed to chill out in a nice hot bath, so headed home in time for the Merseyside Derby, and opened the Spurs vs Newcastle live commentary page on the Sky Sports Website, and chilled out. By the time i’d got home it was 1-0 to Spurs, but my afternoon just got better and better as the boys ran out 4-1 winners :D Have things started to turn the corner? 2 wins on the bounce is not much to get excited about, but according to those at the game, we’re playing the sort of football that the Geordie fans wanna see! Flowing attacking football, and it appears Michael Owen is revelling in his new role, just behind Viduka and Martins :D

True Faiths Match Report

Warning! If you are one of the knockers who don’t want to read good reports about Geremi, Barton and Owen then switch to another site now. They were terrific along with everyone else in a black and white shirt.

Two magpies on York station, as I waited for the train, had to be a good sign and so it turned out as Newcastle put on their best display of the season and almost banish talk of relegation. Despite engineering works causing a late arrival into the capital we still managed to achieve a first by emptying the Irish Centre of both Guinness and bitter. We must have known that extra lubrication was going to be needed to shout the team on!

With the same eleven starting for the third successive game it was inevitable that the Toon would attack from the start, and so it turned although I have to admit being surprised when fullback Beye became the first to come close to a goal when he hit the bar in the 5th minute.

Barton forced Robinson into a good save after 9 minutes as we put the hosts under constant pressure for the first quarter of an hour. Spurs did come more into the game after that but it was still against the run of play when they took the lead through an excellent header from Bent after 25 minutes. He connected with a cross from the left, beat Faye to the ball and gave Harper no chance from about 10 yards out.

Not to worry, this United team is made of stronger stuff than that of a few months ago and they continued to press for the equaliser which duly arrived on the stroke of half-time. Spurs were unable to clear the ball properly as and were in a state of chaos when the ball was played by Geremi to Nicky Butt who shot calmly into the corner of the net from about 20 yards. Maybe Robinson was unsighted or maybe he is just crap? Who cares? Justice wasn’t done as we deserved to be winning but at least there were smiles on our faces at half time.

When the second half started it was a case of more of the same, Barton narrowly missing from 22 yards after 48 minutes and then after 52 minutes we really started to enjoy ourselves. We were awarded a free kick about 25 yards from goal in a central position and discussion took place between Butt and Geremi as to who should take it. Luckily they heard my shouts and the latter calmly curled the ball into the net giving England’s former number 1 no chance. Cue mayhem in the Geordie end as the fans celebrated as only we can.

The team continued to spray the ball about and press for a third goal which everyone felt we needed, although on this occasion it was difficult to recall Harper having much to do. 63 minutes and Robinson made a great save from The Duke but 2 minutes later he had no chance when Owen scored for the third game in a row. I never thought I would write this but great credit must go to referee Steve Bennett who waved play on and allowed advantage when it would have been easy to have blown for a free kick.

By now the Geordies were in full voice, the best support for months, returning the Spurs first half chant of “Are you Derby in disguise?” and taunting Woodgate with “You should have signed for a big club”

After that Newcastle kept the ball with ease and could have had another couple before Martins was put through on the break, rounded his man and put the ball into the net and make it 4 - 1 with 7 minutes left. Half the crowd wanted to join him in his cartwheel celebration!

That was the signal for a mass exodus on a scale not often seen at The Lane. Hopefully the picture gives an indication of what it was like.

A very good performance from everyone on the field backed by magnificent support from The Toon Army. Finally a word of praise for Kevin Keegan, moving Owen back into a deeper role, almost an attacking midfielder, has transformed him and the team. Genius!

Dave Greaves

Had a nice long soak in the bath during the 2nd half of the Merseyside Derby, and then made my way over to my Grandma and Grandads to give them a dig out with moving some furniture, so they were able to get some new carpet put down in their house :D Was nice to see them, and our Lewi and Tyrone came along with my dad. From there I nipped to Burger King for some tea, and then spent the rest of the night/evening chatting to a few people on msn. Wasn’t really up for doing much tbh. Watched Behind Enemy Lines, until Match of the Day 2 came on, and sat through the boring Chelsea highlights till my boys came on :D Today I’m bloody aching like hell, really tired, and to top it all off…. it’s getting warmer in the office! Hell we’ve been allowed the air-con unit on today HAHAHA
