Call of Duty 4…

Well it all started with a text message from Crit on friday afternoon  Telling me that he’d gone and bought Call of Duty 4. The pair of us had not shut up about it for atleast a week solid at work ha ha! Coupled with the fact almost everyone I knew with an Xbox had COD4, I was on a mission from work friday. Nip to asda and get the game, and get as far as I could before watching the England game on telly :D

Was quite successful, and I even managed to get a 3 film comedy disc set from asda for £7! This included State Troopers, Club Dread and Freddy got Fingered! Got home, and within 5 minutes of setting the xbox up to play online again, Ant had invited me to play online with him, before I’d even had time to look at the game, so told him to give me a bit of game time on a single player mission first  Carried on playing, and ordered my Pizza Hut, whilst pausing the game to chat to Zoe and Lizzie on msn :D Sometimes I get really frustrated on games when I cant get through one bit, and this prompted me to turn off the xbox, and sit and watch telly whilst waiting for my snap to arrive. The first half of the England game I thought was dire, and this made me turn it off at half-time having watched Michael Owen limp off again, and looks like spending the next month on the sidelines! Carried on trawling through my new game, and got far enough for one night, and headed to bed.

I must have been tired as I didnt rise from my pit till gone 11, and then proceeded to continue where I left off on my game for a bit. Continue to get frustrated and contemplated throwing my dummy out, and launching the controller against the wall, but then thought better of it, and realised I will not be defeated by a machine. Time passed, and I got ready to watch the Scotland game! For the day I was a Scotland fan, and thought it’d be great if they managed to qualify for the finals in Austria & Switzerland. Must be the distant Scottish roots.  For some reason there always seems to be a party atmosphere before the Scottish home games, and unlike down this side of the border, the fans seem to be in their seats more than half an hour before kick-off, and are all singing and dancing in their seats.  Worst possible start for them tho, and they were 1-0 down after about 1 minute DOH! Typical Rachells marking from a throw-in ha ha!  They managed to get a goal back, but more Rachells like marking from a free-kick (that shouldnt have been) meant they lost 2-1 having given their all, and making Italy look a very very normal side.  Part way through the second half I switched over to the Israel vs Russia game, and about 20 seconds later it was 1-0 Israel! GAME ON!!  Even tho I said I wouldn’t watch the game, I found myself watching the 2nd half whilst munching away on my chinese.  Talk about nervy! Englands qualification was at stake!! Russia went through, and their attacker slipped it past the keeper…. it hit the post… and rolled out for a goal kick! This was at 1-1 with minutes left.  Then Israel nicked the ball from the Russian defender, and went through and scored! Now all England need to do is draw against Croatia on Wednesday! COME ON ENGLAND!!! After all that excitement I chilled for the rest of the night watching Mission Impossible 3 and then Smackdown.

Got to Homebase earlier than the rest of the lads, and sat listening to the stereo.  Turned out we were playing in Bull Farm, and we only had 11 men.  I was partly expecting us to get a battering from a side who aint lost this season, and they were all tall players, but through guts and determination, and a never say die attitude from the leader of the back line… ME  (Rob helped too) we managed to go in 1-0 at half time! This with having 10 men for a while, as Malc went off with dizzyness (The fact Ste Bradshaw scored cant have helped! I think everyone was dizzy afater that)  2nd half it was manning the trenches sort of stuff (quite litterally given the potato patch for a goal area :? )! They kept throwing everything at us, and a fluke shot from one of their players who’d managed to get just enough space went over Moorey.  In the end we went down 4-2, but we kept on fighting which is something we’ve been guilty of not doing! Maybe we missed either of the tanks in the middle of midfield along side Nick (Maddsy or Bobby - Takes them about 5 minutes to turn on the ball  )

After football I headed over to my mum and dads for some dinner, and our Owen was there.  He makes me laugh, cos he was going through a catalogue looking for toys with my mum saying “Yes please” to everything he wanted, even though he had a load of the toys already.  Our stef was getting ready to go out, and Owen asked what that noise was, so me and my dad sent him upstairs to tell him to turn the music down.  It worked, until Owen got to the bottom of the stairs, when according to my mum, Owen stood there shaking his head and said “Ohh not again”, hethen came through and told my dad that Steffie was being naughty playing his music too loud  You’ve gotta love little kids.  After a few brews, I headed off for a nice long soak in the bath, and god did i need it! I was covered from head to toe in mud!! God knows how Bradshaw is gonna get a White kit clean for next week ha ha ha! Ended up spending the evening relaxing after my nice soak and watching a dvd or two before Top Gear came on.  After that I found myself in bed quite early, and had a very decent nights sleep.

Had a friend request this morning from someone I aint spoken to in ages.  Those who read this may remember I went to the Ranger for a bit with Rob aka Jeff, and thought I’d spotted my uncle Rob, and it turned out I was right.  Well our Lindsay has added me and our heather on facebook, and said she spotted me a while back, and wasnt entirely sure if it was me or not, and I was thinking the exact same thing! :D
