The White Lads on Tour!!

Well lets start where I left off on the last proper blog

Wednesday I picked Fee up bout 7:30ish and we went over to the new pub opposite Asda, and met up with Bruton and Vicky. We all decided to eat, but were told that there was an hour wait for a table, and it’d be another 3-0/35 minutes before we got anything to eat! So quick group discussion, and we decided to head over to the Rushley for some food instead. Ant, Ollie, Alanman and Claire met us just before we set ff, so we told them the plan, and all went our seperate ways to get there. Still didnt have an appetite in the pub, but ordered Cajun Chicken, cos i’d seen fee’s the other friday, and love chicken so thought i’d give it a try. We didnt stay in the pub too long, cos fee wanted an early night, and I wanted to drop a card off for someones birthday, and then have an early night, which was met with disapproving glances from certain people who knew where I was going

Got home around 10, and found myself shivering like hell, so went upto bed. Couldnt sleep at all Wed night, and ended up throwing up, whilst shivering under the covers, but sweating like hell :? How that works is beyond me  Decided it was for the best that I didnt go into work on the Thursday as I was still feeling like shit. Spent the day dosing up on Beechams whilst watching the Lord of the Rings films, and spamming Lee and Fee via email. Got an SOS call from Maddsy who was trying to do a Design & Quote, and JUST managed to get it done  He also pointed out that the Posi printer wasn’t printing, so I mentioned it just needed the heads cleaning, THINKING HE WOULD DO IT!! Thursday night was in bed for 8pm and slept all the way through to 7 when my alarm went off, cos I had to take our Lewi to a job in Skegby, then headed over to work.

Low-and-behold… when I got to work, I discovered that maddsy hadn’t even touched the machine! This annoyed me greatly, as If it was in his department, and he was off, no matter how busy I was i’d be expected to clean the machine, and keep the printer running, so crit could continue to print! His excuse was that he was running around all day getting things ready for his China trip and that, but according to Crit he just turned round and said “Fuck it! Wiggy can sort it out” Errr thanks mate ;) Managed to get a load done, including sending out almost 400 info packs as part of a mailer, and when 3 approached, Geoffrey said I may as well bugger off once i’d finished the job I was doing, and take the post upto the main depot at the top of the estate. Got home and ended up playing on Madden 07 on the x-box! First time i’d played anything on it for ages. Had to nip to work around 6, cos Wendy had left her key at home or something, and so I had to nip round to lock-up. Friday night was a blur, altho I think I just chilled and tried to have an early night, but in the end I got to sleep about 3am… which was not good to say I was to be up bout6ish to head over and pick my dad and brother up.

Off went the alarm, and I managed to drag my carcass out of bed, and narrowly miss falling down the stairs trying to get into the bathroom (those who have seen my house will undertstand  ) With clear roads, and green-lights all the way it took me about 4 minutes to get over to my dads house he he, where I was greeted with a coffee and bacon sarnie. Nipped into the shower so I could quickly wash my hair, so I could try and do something with it, rather than wear a cap down london. Got to my dads work bout 7ish and headed round the corner to the train station.

Our stef looking ermm retarded.. Me and our Stef on the train.. Leicester stop..

Met up with Our Malc, Jez (a.k.a. Roy) and our Lew on the platform for the train, and in typical fashion our malc had a beer in his hand  Jez tried to purchase a beer from the shop at the station, but the bloke behind the counter was not having any of it “Too early.. Too early” so Jez offered him £3 for a £2 can, but he declined  The train journey was lets say fun. The other night our Lewi rang me and said that he’d seen train tickets online for £7 each way, and they were gonna book them, so imagine my surprise when they say they aint got any train tickets!! Anyway we got on the train in first class (only the best for me), and our malc, jez and lew got on with the chickens and general riff-raff. Part way through the journey we saw the 3 of them heading up the train so we had a breif chat, and then they all went back once they saw the ticket man coming  Anyway they got caught out, and our Lew and Malc ended up paying about £50 for a return ticket, even tho the bloke wanted £112 off our malc just for a return fare. Jez came out the loo and got charged £52 for the single journey. Malc then ended up kicking off with “Dave the ticket man” and said he’d be putting a complaint in when we reached St Pancras. Seems that “Dave the ticket man” locked himself in one of the cabins, and wouldnt get off the train when we arrived.

After asking security for directions to the Midland Mainline reception, Malc and Jez put in their complaint, and were told they shouldnt have been given th tickets that they had, and Jez got his money refuned and got himself a return ticket. We headed outside and within minutes our stef had the fag in his hand, and whilst trying to light it, he ended up walking through some dog shit  HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRO ha ha! Went for a bit of a walk, and my dad decided that he wanted to go and do his own thing round London, whilst we tried to find a pub that was open (at 9 in the morning)

This led to a walk down into Camden, to find that their pubs open at 10 in the morning… we then ended up just walking round aimlessly, trying to find the tube, hoping to go to Leicester Square, hoping their pubs would be open. Got to Camdens underground station after asking a few people who just pointed in a general direction, when we realised why we’d missed it! The whole building is covered in bloody scaffolding. It was around this time our malc went into his first rant, about how London being the capital of England, but you cant get a pint for love nor money at half 9 in the morning  Managed to get on the tube, and chatting to this lad, who said Camden was the best place for a pint, but if there were no pubs open, then Leicester Square might be a good bet. Within seconds of the train pulling off, the lad realised we were ALL on the wrong train, and were heading in the opposite direction

So next stop, we jump off, and on to the correct train. By this time it’s just gone 10, so we think there’ll be a pub or two open. After a bit of a walk, we asked this guy where the nearest open boozer was, and as we were stood being told directions, this other group of lads joined us, and said they’d follow us. Well it’s safe to say I’ve never been marched as quickly trying to keep up with someone as I was trying to follow Malc and Roy  They were almost possessed. Ended up finding a Yates’s right in the middle of Leicester Square in the middle of all the cinemas and that, and opposite what looked like quite an exclusive hotel

The posh Hotel.. Nelsons Column.. “No Shit Sherlock!”

Once we’d finished our pint in there we went walk-abouts again, and found ourselves walking through Trafalgar square, past Nelsons Column, and past some rather nice looking houses, when we stumbled upon the Sherlock Holmes pub. So being typical lads, we decided to have a pint in there, and as soon as we walked in our Malc turned round to Roy, myself and Lew and said “No Shit Sherlock! We’re in the Sherlock Holmes” I think everyone could have guessed one of us would have said that *rollseyes* He then proceeded to ring numerous people from Rainworth to tell them where we were and that  From the Sherlock we went for another wander, and found ourselves at the Milennium bridge with a great view of the London Eye.  Made me laugh when I heard our Malc on the phone saying “I’m down London way with the White brothers” The way he said it made us sound like gangsters   Then our Stef added… “err it’s the White brothers on Tour malc”

Eye Spy.. Millennium Bridge.. Big Ben in the background

From the bridge, we decided to nip into one of the boat bars for a drink. Stef got asked for ID but as he didnt have any we dedided to get our drinks and head up top where he was allowed. Felt really let down, as Big Ben reached 1pm, and it DIDNT CHIME! GOD DAMN IT! After finishing up in there we headed down towards Big Ben and around Westminster for a gander and that. Nipped into the toilet to find them charging 50 BLOODY PENCE TO USE THE PISSER! Well i thought fuck it, so as I had a spare 50p in my pocket I paid it anway. Heard a commotion outside, and when I got out, Malc had got this busker to play some Oasis, whilst him, Roy, Lewi and Stef were all singing the wrong words to “Dotn look back i anger” This got quite a few funny glances from tourists to say the least! With a few focusing their cameras, on the quartet  It was around this time that my dad started putting the heat on us to start making our way to Wembley  He’s one of them that hates being late for things! We wandered round Westminster, and Malc decided to have a rant at these Anti-War protesters, and another one at a statue of Nelson Mandela :?

Big Ben.. Statue of Nelson Mandela

We wandered around Westminster then looking for the tube station, and then headed on our way to Wembley. We ended up changing trains, and JUST managed to all squeeze on. It was sooo hot on the underground, that I began to feel a little faint, and am sure had the train journey to Wembley Park station been any longer than bout 10 minutes, and I’d have probably passed out  Got to Wembley station, and the train quickly emptied, and Our Malc began chanting and trying to get everyone up for the game with his rendition of “God Save The Queen” And also “Put St George on my Flag” which a few other piped up to :D We decided to split from the other 3, and Me and Stef made our way upto my dad, so he would stop having a Panic Attack about not getting in before the kick-off etc etc

Thousands of fans emptying the Tube Station.. Wembley from a way.. Coming upto Wembley Way

Took us best part of 10 minutes to make our way from the tube to the turnstiles, and once we were inside I was quite impressed with the place. We found our seats easily enough and sat down, and started taking videos and photos of the ground to try and send to a few people who were watching the game, and wanted to know where we were sat! It tried to send these messages for the best part of 45 minutes, but kept saying “Server busy”

Our View.. The Start of the National Anthems.. England Celebrates Rooneys Goal

The first half was good, and I got a few texts off folks asking if i could streak to entertain them, and that those on Phils stag do they were having shots everytime England scored, and it was starting to get a bit messy  By 70 minutes a lot of people decided that they’d seen enough, and made their way out of the ground, including the 3 stooges (Malc, Roy and Lew). We stayed untill the end tho, cos I’ve been to games before where things go off before the final whistle! Including a game at Newcastle with Bex when we decided to leave early, and missed a sending off and a penalty grrrr.

The players go off at full-time.. The ground emptying.. Best part of 80,000 fans walking down Wembley way.

Took about an hour to get from our seats to the tube station. This is due to the fact that they are trying to get the best part of 80,000 fans into one small tube station. Finally made it back to Baker Street where we had to change over. Got back to St Pancras station, and wondered what to do next. Stef wanted to go and meet Lewi and them in the pub, but i was knackered, and just wanted to chill for a bit. Me and my dad decided to go into Starbucks, where I bought myself a massive mug, as well as a coffee and muffin, and our Stef went to Macdonalds! Once we’d finished that we gave Lewi a quick ring to find they were in Leicester Square, so we jumped onto the underground, surfaced, rang him again, and found they’d gone on somewhere else! So the 3 of us jumped onto the tube, and went across 1 stop to Picadilly.

The bright lights of Picadilly.. Lillywhites

Decided whilst I was stood outside Lillywhites, to go and purchase the England Rugby shirt, as it was on sale. From there we decided to head back to St Pancras, and basically chill waiting for the train. Got back to the train station bout 8ish, and sat about chilling waiting for the 8:55 train back to Nottingham. Met up with the 3 stooges, and made our way to the train. The ride home was comfy enough, altho my phone died, whilst I was frantically checking Wap for the England rugby score! Only to be told by a bloke a few seats behind that they’d only gone and done it! Good Old Jonny with his magic left foot helping England into their 2nd consecutive Rugby World Cup Final!

New Rugby shirt.. New England mug from Starbucks

Was gonna go out down Mansfield and meet the stag-do lads before they headed to a club, but by the time I got home I was shattered, and once i’d sat down to check my emails, there was no getting back up! I retired to bed, and waited for the news to come on and show me the highlights of the England Rugby game.

Woke up sunday, aching like hell, but got ready for football, and met the lads. We ended up losing 2-0 to the team next bottom, so we’re 4 points behind them or something. Individually we all seemed to play quite well, with Bagi having a particually great game, despite playing most of the second half injured! (That man is man of glass i’m sure  ) But as a team we dont talk enough, and that cost us two goals via Brad! Grrrr. I played for best part of 55 minutes, but towards half time, i found it really hard to catch my breath, so thought it best not to kill myself for the team  Went back to the pub for a quick pint after the game, as they’ve been moaning at the lack of numbers showing their face and that, so thought best show my face every now and again.

Nipped round to my mum and dads and nicked one of their spare sunday dinners, then came home and basically chilled out for the rest of the day with a nice long bath, and then watching Outlaw and Beerfest on DVD, till it was time for Top Gear. Yet another great show (One that a certain Mr Kirk wont be able to watch till its on the internet or something  ) and then went to bed and watched the 2nd Rugby World Cup Semi-Final. Was invited early in the day to attend the Rushley with some of the folks, but felt quite crappy, so wanted to stay in and do my own thing! i.e. SLEEP
That is pretty much my weekend folks :D Really enjoyed it, and was great to spend some time with my brothers and cousin, and on the way back me and my old man were chatting about becoming members of team england, and maybe catching one or two away games too :D

Leave comments below :D

*edit* Ohhhhhh just remembered… I need to sort a lads weekend out round Leicester Square one weekend… some of the girls down there were drop dead gorgeous! If only i wasn’t with my 2 ugly brothers, father and cousin ROFL!! It’s defo on my list of nights out now! Baring in mind I’ve kinda been invited to Bradshaws Stag-Do up in Newcastle, so I can cross that from my list
