Well the old adage…. “If it aint broken, don’t fix it” Is something that pops up every now and again. Seems its something me and my dad dont seem to take any notice of  We’re never happy unless we’re trying to mess about with something. This time it’s the digi-box! We’d both managed to break ours, and so my dad fixed it. Now he seems to be spending most of his time messing about with it, adding channels into his favourites! This is exactly how I managed to break mine in the first place  Every available moment he had during the Rugby World Cup final, he was channel hopping, trying to find channels he watches regular, to add to his faves. This is something that I’ve ended up doing now! So I expect to break my digi-box soon enough HAHAHA

Must be a male trait

Well aint it been a rather shite week to be a supporter of english sport!! First of all there is the continuation of the horror show that is Steve McLaren in charge of England. A national team that is meant to be the “Golden Era” of english football, is fast becoming the laughing stock of international football. Given what was considered one of the easiest groups to qualify from (specially given the group Scotland were given) and we’ve struggled along, and looks likely we’re gonna limp over the line with extended holidays for the english lads.

Then saturday night, the show piece of the Rugby calander. For 4 years since England won the World Cup against all the odds, we’ve basically been shit. Even in the first few games of this World Cup we’ve been shit. But you cant fult the commitment the lads made during the quarters, semi and final! On another day Mark Cueto’s “try” would possibly have been given, and the whole complex of the game would have changed dramatically. But once again England shot them selves in the foot, by giving away stupid penalties.

And then the small matter of Lewis Hamilton. Fair play to the lad, he’s snatched defeat from the jaws of victory like so many english sportsmen before him, but he’s come out and said He aint gonna dwell on it, and he’s gonna come back stronger for it next year. If only Mclaren had got him in the pits a few laps earlier in the last race, It would have been a different story no doubt!

I think as a nation we are too fascinated with winning. I read somewhere that “The fluke winning of the World Cup in 1966, was the worst thing that could happen to English football”. We as a nation seem to idolise all the plays, and make out they are the best in the world,. but looking at past performances in the big tournaments, we’re always lacking that ability to change tactics if need be. The press dont help, by making the nation believe that there is no one better in the world that our lads, and with regards to the football team, I think some of the players believe their own press, and that turning up should guarantee them something.

Anyway back to life as a whole….

Had a 10 minute conversation with Maddsy whilst he was sat in the airport, as he wanted to know how many fags he was allowed to bring back into the UK - Suppose as long as they all have the neccesary paper-work you can bring back a plane full mate :D This seemed to really annoy Geoffrey, who was slating him whilst I was on the phone for “wasting company resources on a stupid phone call” Decided to fuck off early, and got home about 5ish, and chilled out for a bit watching some random (but highly fascinating) program on the Knights Templar, and I was quite hooked on it, and after reading The Da Vinci Code, always found these sort of people interesting :D

Nipped to the shop, and decided to knock going to football on the head, as I still feel full of a cold, and got some beers, and set about sorting loads of crap i’d managed to accumulate! Including getting rid of some old clothes I aint gonna wear again. Half way through doing this I got a phone call off my mum saying Owen was on the phone to her, and wanted to speak to Mikey, and that he wanted me to ring him, but when I tried our Lewi’s phone rang out, and went to answer phone. Got a call off Fee not long after saying “You not coming pub then?” but as I hadn’t been to football I therefore wasn;t invited! Plus I’d have a few beers by then, so no chance of jumping in the car and driving over.

Got up saturday nice and early, so I could pick my mum up from town, and go for a coffee and some toast, and have a chat. After a few coffees, raced up to my mum and dads to get the build up of the side-show derby, before the big one kicked off at 3. Celtic were shite, and Rangers deserved to win in my eyes, even tho I was cheering Celtic on for the first time in a while  Wasn’t a dirty game, but they still ended up with 9 players booked, but both sides finished with the full quota of players, so cant gumble too much

Then it was time for the big derby! The MIGHTY MANSFIELD vs the not so might Notts County! A few texts were exchanged, at a stupid cost, to my bahrainian friend just before the game, about how this really is a must win game for the Stags, with County not being too far ahead, and teams like Wrexham and Lincoln starting to open a little gap. Turns out we did them 2-0! The soon-to-be immortal figure of Michael Boulding getting 2! 1 from the penalty spot and a cracking finish 4 minutes later :D As you can imagine, a few more texts followed, as I was sat watching soccer saturday waiting for the full times to come through. Decided against going to Rachells pub to watch the rugby final and the chubby brown tribute act, as it’s miles out of my way tbh, and I just wanted to chill out. Watched the Man Utd game on telly at my mum and dads, and something I wrote on my blog worked! Part way through the Man Utd game I got a call saying “So what you all been saying about me then?” denying I knew what he was on about I acted innocent and said that I didnt know what he was on about, and had he been tripping or maybe it’s just Jetlag ha ha ha.

Owen came round, and was his usual hyper self, once given a drink of Orange juice by my dad  And it was fun watching him run around for a bit. They left just before the rugby kicked off, and that left me, my dad and my mum sat nervously watching the rugby. Sent a few texts to some of my mates saying “Come on England” and I got a few replies. The lads made a great effort, and if World Cups were won on guts and determination then after the last 3 games I’m sure England would have had it handed to them on a plate! The problem being we needed a try early in the second half with the score at 9-6, and we thought we’d got it, cue loads of texts saying “Get in”… and “Just give it for gods sake” But it wasn’t to be. Got home proper gutted about the result, but like has been said, on another day that try decision could have gone our way, and we could have been back-to-back World Champions.

Got up earlier than normal sunday, as we were away in the Notts Cup, and for some reason stupid Nottingham teams kick off at 10:30 :? Suppose it means an extra half hour in the pub  got to Maddsys, and we went in the Dirty diesel that was Marks Volvo to go meet the lads. Got to the ground easy enough, and it turned out I’d played on that pitch twice during my saturday football days. I entertained some of the lads before the game, with my goalkeeping heroics ROFL! And then decided to stop, once Brad said he may put me in net 2nd half  Was a tight game, and I think we did enough to possibly win the game, but as always our shooting was a little wayward, or we’d opt to shoot when there was someone in a better position maybe. Ended up losing 1-0 to a pentaly, which was a result of a bit of a suicidal lunge from Lee Berry, but we cant complain, as he was up and down all game, and gave his all.

Match Report nicked from the website…

What a game, what a performance but unlucky with the result.

Our debut in the Notts Cup ended in defeat, but we can all hold our heads up high after this game.

We were forced into changes, Bagi’s departed meant we were without a goalkeeper, but we may have found an answer in Moorey after a very confident display in goal. Foxy’s and Daly’s absence meant a recall for Greg and Evs, the gap Moorey left in midfield was filled by Bobby who did not let anyone down. Scotty was preferred to upfront for the first time this season.

We started the game very well, we were getting the ball down on the floor, making runs and producing some really good challenges. I said before the game i wanted to see full concentration and 100% work-rate during the 90 mins, and the boys did not let me down.

We were left rueing our luck after having good efforts on goal from Berry, Malc, Nick and Scotty in the first half. Moorey made some crucial interceptions on the edge of his box to denied them a real shot on goal.

Half-time 0 - 0

We started the second half well and in times of need made important tackles on the forwards.

Maddsy came on for the injured Brad who received a bloody nose thanks to an elbow from their forward. However this did not seem to dent our confidence which was growing by every passing minute.

Disaster struck on the 75th minute after a foul by Berry resulted in Stapleford scoring a penalty. We pushed on and still created chances however it was not meant to be.

Stapleford were a very strong team with excellent passing ability however we more than matched our opponents today and deserved better. If we can play like this week in week out we will start climbing the table.

Man of the Match chosen by Stapleford Town - Malc, well played mate.

Nipped back to the pub for a quick one after the game, as it was on the way, and then headed home. Had a phone call asking if I was gonna play out, so gave my usual answer of “I’ll see how I feel” which normally means no, as this person knows, but I thought sod it, so went along with the I’ll see angle. Watched Hamilton snatch defeat in the world championship from the jaws of victory, and then went into a nice long hot bath. Then some random bloke in a MK2 Golf I think it was decided to knock on my door :? Decided that if it was someone I knew they’d get in touch by ringing me or texting me, but I didnt get any messages so carried on soaking.

Had a laugh in the pub with what shall now be known as “The Usual Suspects” Hopefully there will be an addition to the gang upon his arrival back on these shores :P

Now it’s back to work as normal :(

*edit*  Upon remembering, Alanman let Fee have a go on Claire’s scooter, which is gonna have “ribbins” tied to it for Phil and Helens wedding   Poor Claire didnt quite understand why a few of us were giggling everytime she said this!  Anyway Fee rather drunkedly started driving round the Rushley car-park.  I’d seen enough, and left the car park after a few minutes chuckling to myself :D

I’ve been having a debate with Mr Kirk, about which is the better one for browsing the Internet.  This is due to Internet Explorer messing up my blog when I copy something from the internet into a blog post, yet in firefox it works fine! Thus me not knowing whats gone off till I get an email from an IE user saying “You’re blog has fucked up again”

So that got me thinking.. (rather than go through my stats and try and find out) Which one do my readers use?

Since Olly showed me the light when he worked at Mini-Marquees I’ve used Firefox all the way! So what do you use/prefer? Or is there another one you tend to use?
*mac users may not apply*

Oct 19

So yesterday was pretty dull again at work! Which to be fair has happened every year for the last 10 years I’ve been here   Had my usual email chat with Fee to keep each other sane, and also the bahrainian, until he left work with emails unanswered *rollseyes*

Helen text earlier in the day, asking if I fancied the Rushley for the quiz, so thought why not, and replied that I’ll be there dependant upon what time I go to the gym.  Then Ant text me pretty much asking the same thing, and also telling me that he’d read my comment on his blog *HIGH 5 again* but couldnt reply.  Had a bit of a chat with Ant, and he’s one of them that I get on with, but hardly ever seem to speak/see much of.  Hopefully I’ll start going out at the weekends a bit more again soon, as he’s told me I’ll need my Jedi cloak, as he’ll teach me the ways of the force  (this is mansfield tho ant! Dont get too carried away) And also next time i’m out its my birthday ;) ha ha ha

Was kinda looking forward to going, but then a few people dropped out, who had their reasons, and cos it was Johns brothers birthday meal, he didnt go to the gym, so gave me a free night pretty much.  So I marched round to my mum and dads with my digi-box in hand and told him in no uncertain terms to “Fix that for us father” Turned out his was knackered as well, so he managed to sort both of them out, and they’re both working now! So I have normal telly again folks :D Next job is to get My Wayniac to nip round, and put me a cable through the wall, so I can use the digibox to get my channels in my bedroom! Cos the portable ariel in the loft is CRAP to say the least!

Nipped my mother to Tesco’s whilst my dad was working his computer geekness magic on the boxes, and she complained about the exhaust ha ha ha! Mothers hey! They really aint got a clue!

Had a bit of a play with the new camera on my phone,  Cant really tell how good the quality is on these 2 widescreen monitors I have at work  They just seem uber stretched! Tonight I think i’m gonna have a bit of a tidy up in the house, and sort somethings out on my computer at home, as it seems to have a spaz attack when I try and change from an msn window to firefox :? Stupid thing, Then maybe just chill on the settee with a few beers and watch some CSI if it’s on! Or after using the !”Addicted to Prison Break” facebook application that some one sent me an invite to, I may start watching them all from the beginning :D

This morning nipped upto asda to get myself some Kenco Fusions, cos it works out cheaper than the drinks machine, and I also wanted to get some money out, and bumped into Carol.  The women serving her thought I was weird when I walked past at 8 in the morning shouting “Oi Wilmot… what you buying me?”  Turns out she’s bought some hot dogs and finger cobs! So I’ve managed to blag myself onto the guest list for some hot dogs at dinner :D RESULT!

Woohoo!!

So work was as per usual this time of year… steady to quiet. Got a rather polite message from Mark saying “Dont think about fucking clocking off early” to which my reply was just… “We’ve brought a telly in anyway so dont worry” then Maddsy text me asking what time we kicked off! Not knowing wether he meant Chinese time or Greenwich Mean Time, so just said 4 mate, which is past your pairs bed time. Then I got a reply saying he’d seen a Crocodile having it’s head chopped off, before being eaten or sommat! ermmm SUPER! Something for the memory banks that mate ;)

Nipped home at dinner to see if DHL had tried to deliver my new phone, and sat watching “This Morning” Whilst having a few slices of wholemeal toast :D, but no sign of a delivery card! Bugger!

Later in the afternoon me and my old mucker Crit were busy trying to find a bloody radio that would work on Radio 5 Live, but to no avail, and cos Geoffrey prohibits any sort of sounds in the office (apart from the general coughing, sneezing and farting that mainly comes from his and maddsys desks) so we waited till he’d gone to the doctors bout 10 past 4, then me and Crit sat at my desk and listened to the commentary on the radio :D All seemed to be going swimmingly when Half-time came and went, and I was keeping lizzie updated with the score, as she was on some kind of cleaning frenzy throughout her house :? Reminds me of Monica from friends

Left work bout 20 past 5 and got home, and messed around trying to get 5 live on, and the commentator said “That should have been 2-2 there” Which got me a little confuzzled to say the least! Since when did we concede 2 goals.. and in the space of about 3 minutes it took me to get home and get the radio on :? Anyway… Looking like mine and my dads plan to have a summer holiday in Austria and Switzerland may not be happening ha ha!  Still thinking of becoming a club england member, so I can get tickets to away games! What better way to use my holidays from work !  From what i’ve heard it was a dismal game, typical of the way we play under McLaren.

When I walked through the door I noticed the delivery card on the doorstep, and on it it had written that it wasn’t someone from the DHL depot that had been to collect, but someone working from home in Forest Town! And if i wanted to pick it up, ring this number and organise nipping round to get it! RESULT!! So after the end of the debacle that was the England game, I quickly said cheerio to Fee and Lizzie on msn, and headed to get my phone :D I love it.  Soo many options, and the camera seems decent enough! Will have to put one or two of the photos on the net, to have a look at.

Once i’d finally left my phone to charge, and eaten the large dominos pizza id had for my tea (Wed seems to be pay-day and thus pizza night HAHAHA ) and watched the scottish bravehearts that had done so well against France and Ukraine fall to the minnows from Georgia, and it didnt seem so bad England losing then

Had a bath, and found myself in bed just after 9 again! Still feeling tired all the time, and still not got rid of this cold fully.  Had a quick chat with Mr Kirk, cos I wanna sort something as soon as possible for going out for my birthday! I know it aint till February, but the norm is that nothing ever gets sorted anyway.  I’d quite like to go out round Doncaster, Sheffield or Leeds! Will have a chat with John, as he’s been to Sheffield a few times iirc.  See if him and Caz would join us on a night out somewhere other than Mansfield or Notts! :D

For some reason now i’ve been to “Landon Town” I feel the need to try and be a cockney geezer   It was so funny the 5 of us walking round the mean streets of Camden putting on fake cockney accents, and being typically laddish in our manner.  i.e. Walking with the typical swagger, in the middle of the road, and generally being all yobish! Like I said in mondays blog, I really enjoyed it, and having spoken to Malc on saturday, we’re gonna try and do it again some time in the near future! Be mint if Stags ever made it!

Monday at work was really quiet, with us not having Mark or Maddsy who are currently looking at adopting a few Pandas and maybe as its a company trip, they may even find a supplier or something, rather than looking for random Irish Bars and places that serve English food  When in Rome hey Maddsy ROFL

Didnt go to the gym monday night, cos John had other plans, so I basically bummed around at home, and went on the Xbox! Managed to batter some poor team on Madden 07 214 - 14  The joys of “Rookie” level   Other than that I just watched telly and did a bit of searching on the net.

Tuesday was a bit busier at work, and continued to sort through some of the stuff Robert left behind, as well as trying to think up jobs to give Zoe to do when she starts on the 29th of this month.  It’s great! A few of us managed to have a right good bitch yesterday (Tuesday) about a certain member of staff :D (Awaits a phone call when he arrives and reads this hahahah)  Had a nice chat with Lizzie for the first time in a while! Stuff has been going on, that i aint gonna go into, and so she’s not been able to chat much, and i enjoyed catching up and that :D She;s sooo random at times ha ha
Rang O2 up on Sunday, as I was told I was able to upgrade any time after the 13th October.  Having spent a while on the phone to them, It came to sending the order through for the Samsung G600…. and it came up error.  Even tho I was told 13th, I wasn’t able to upgrade for atleast another 24 hours, as it’s 30 days till the end of the contract, not 31! GRRR.  Gave them a call during my lunch hour on tuesday, and managed to sort it, so I should have my new phone in the next day or two :D WOOOOOOO!! Cant wait lol! Altho i’ve gotta go and sort my contacts out (Good reason to get rid of some of the ol contacts I never speak to any more ;) ) As dickhead here seems to have saved them all to the phone not his sim card

Went to the gym last night for the first time in a week due to Johns love for going to gigs, and my illness and things, and I thought i’d struggle, but I managed to pretty much continue where I left off.  Feeling a bit sore this morning, but no more than usual, and aching is good anyway ha ha.  Got home and spoke to Troy for a bit on msn, and he mentioned Japmids to me, so signed up on there to see what it’s all about! Think i’ll give this forum a run for a bit :D  Then I felt tired, so went and watched CSI Miami on the settee. Was about then that I realised just how much I enjoyed watching it, and I was shocked with the way it ended last night

Anyway thats all for now! Expect another update when I can be bothered HAHAHA

Oct 15

Well lets start where I left off on the last proper blog

Wednesday I picked Fee up bout 7:30ish and we went over to the new pub opposite Asda, and met up with Bruton and Vicky. We all decided to eat, but were told that there was an hour wait for a table, and it’d be another 3-0/35 minutes before we got anything to eat! So quick group discussion, and we decided to head over to the Rushley for some food instead. Ant, Ollie, Alanman and Claire met us just before we set ff, so we told them the plan, and all went our seperate ways to get there. Still didnt have an appetite in the pub, but ordered Cajun Chicken, cos i’d seen fee’s the other friday, and love chicken so thought i’d give it a try. We didnt stay in the pub too long, cos fee wanted an early night, and I wanted to drop a card off for someones birthday, and then have an early night, which was met with disapproving glances from certain people who knew where I was going

Got home around 10, and found myself shivering like hell, so went upto bed. Couldnt sleep at all Wed night, and ended up throwing up, whilst shivering under the covers, but sweating like hell :? How that works is beyond me  Decided it was for the best that I didnt go into work on the Thursday as I was still feeling like shit. Spent the day dosing up on Beechams whilst watching the Lord of the Rings films, and spamming Lee and Fee via email. Got an SOS call from Maddsy who was trying to do a Design & Quote, and JUST managed to get it done  He also pointed out that the Posi printer wasn’t printing, so I mentioned it just needed the heads cleaning, THINKING HE WOULD DO IT!! Thursday night was in bed for 8pm and slept all the way through to 7 when my alarm went off, cos I had to take our Lewi to a job in Skegby, then headed over to work.

Low-and-behold… when I got to work, I discovered that maddsy hadn’t even touched the machine! This annoyed me greatly, as If it was in his department, and he was off, no matter how busy I was i’d be expected to clean the machine, and keep the printer running, so crit could continue to print! His excuse was that he was running around all day getting things ready for his China trip and that, but according to Crit he just turned round and said “Fuck it! Wiggy can sort it out” Errr thanks mate ;) Managed to get a load done, including sending out almost 400 info packs as part of a mailer, and when 3 approached, Geoffrey said I may as well bugger off once i’d finished the job I was doing, and take the post upto the main depot at the top of the estate. Got home and ended up playing on Madden 07 on the x-box! First time i’d played anything on it for ages. Had to nip to work around 6, cos Wendy had left her key at home or something, and so I had to nip round to lock-up. Friday night was a blur, altho I think I just chilled and tried to have an early night, but in the end I got to sleep about 3am… which was not good to say I was to be up bout6ish to head over and pick my dad and brother up.

Off went the alarm, and I managed to drag my carcass out of bed, and narrowly miss falling down the stairs trying to get into the bathroom (those who have seen my house will undertstand  ) With clear roads, and green-lights all the way it took me about 4 minutes to get over to my dads house he he, where I was greeted with a coffee and bacon sarnie. Nipped into the shower so I could quickly wash my hair, so I could try and do something with it, rather than wear a cap down london. Got to my dads work bout 7ish and headed round the corner to the train station.

Our stef looking ermm retarded.. Me and our Stef on the train.. Leicester stop..

Met up with Our Malc, Jez (a.k.a. Roy) and our Lew on the platform for the train, and in typical fashion our malc had a beer in his hand  Jez tried to purchase a beer from the shop at the station, but the bloke behind the counter was not having any of it “Too early.. Too early” so Jez offered him £3 for a £2 can, but he declined  The train journey was lets say fun. The other night our Lewi rang me and said that he’d seen train tickets online for £7 each way, and they were gonna book them, so imagine my surprise when they say they aint got any train tickets!! Anyway we got on the train in first class (only the best for me), and our malc, jez and lew got on with the chickens and general riff-raff. Part way through the journey we saw the 3 of them heading up the train so we had a breif chat, and then they all went back once they saw the ticket man coming  Anyway they got caught out, and our Lew and Malc ended up paying about £50 for a return ticket, even tho the bloke wanted £112 off our malc just for a return fare. Jez came out the loo and got charged £52 for the single journey. Malc then ended up kicking off with “Dave the ticket man” and said he’d be putting a complaint in when we reached St Pancras. Seems that “Dave the ticket man” locked himself in one of the cabins, and wouldnt get off the train when we arrived.

After asking security for directions to the Midland Mainline reception, Malc and Jez put in their complaint, and were told they shouldnt have been given th tickets that they had, and Jez got his money refuned and got himself a return ticket. We headed outside and within minutes our stef had the fag in his hand, and whilst trying to light it, he ended up walking through some dog shit  HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRO ha ha! Went for a bit of a walk, and my dad decided that he wanted to go and do his own thing round London, whilst we tried to find a pub that was open (at 9 in the morning)

This led to a walk down into Camden, to find that their pubs open at 10 in the morning… we then ended up just walking round aimlessly, trying to find the tube, hoping to go to Leicester Square, hoping their pubs would be open. Got to Camdens underground station after asking a few people who just pointed in a general direction, when we realised why we’d missed it! The whole building is covered in bloody scaffolding. It was around this time our malc went into his first rant, about how London being the capital of England, but you cant get a pint for love nor money at half 9 in the morning  Managed to get on the tube, and chatting to this lad, who said Camden was the best place for a pint, but if there were no pubs open, then Leicester Square might be a good bet. Within seconds of the train pulling off, the lad realised we were ALL on the wrong train, and were heading in the opposite direction

So next stop, we jump off, and on to the correct train. By this time it’s just gone 10, so we think there’ll be a pub or two open. After a bit of a walk, we asked this guy where the nearest open boozer was, and as we were stood being told directions, this other group of lads joined us, and said they’d follow us. Well it’s safe to say I’ve never been marched as quickly trying to keep up with someone as I was trying to follow Malc and Roy  They were almost possessed. Ended up finding a Yates’s right in the middle of Leicester Square in the middle of all the cinemas and that, and opposite what looked like quite an exclusive hotel

The posh Hotel.. Nelsons Column.. “No Shit Sherlock!”

Once we’d finished our pint in there we went walk-abouts again, and found ourselves walking through Trafalgar square, past Nelsons Column, and past some rather nice looking houses, when we stumbled upon the Sherlock Holmes pub. So being typical lads, we decided to have a pint in there, and as soon as we walked in our Malc turned round to Roy, myself and Lew and said “No Shit Sherlock! We’re in the Sherlock Holmes” I think everyone could have guessed one of us would have said that *rollseyes* He then proceeded to ring numerous people from Rainworth to tell them where we were and that  From the Sherlock we went for another wander, and found ourselves at the Milennium bridge with a great view of the London Eye.  Made me laugh when I heard our Malc on the phone saying “I’m down London way with the White brothers” The way he said it made us sound like gangsters   Then our Stef added… “err it’s the White brothers on Tour malc”

Eye Spy.. Millennium Bridge.. Big Ben in the background

From the bridge, we decided to nip into one of the boat bars for a drink. Stef got asked for ID but as he didnt have any we dedided to get our drinks and head up top where he was allowed. Felt really let down, as Big Ben reached 1pm, and it DIDNT CHIME! GOD DAMN IT! After finishing up in there we headed down towards Big Ben and around Westminster for a gander and that. Nipped into the toilet to find them charging 50 BLOODY PENCE TO USE THE PISSER! Well i thought fuck it, so as I had a spare 50p in my pocket I paid it anway. Heard a commotion outside, and when I got out, Malc had got this busker to play some Oasis, whilst him, Roy, Lewi and Stef were all singing the wrong words to “Dotn look back i anger” This got quite a few funny glances from tourists to say the least! With a few focusing their cameras, on the quartet  It was around this time that my dad started putting the heat on us to start making our way to Wembley  He’s one of them that hates being late for things! We wandered round Westminster, and Malc decided to have a rant at these Anti-War protesters, and another one at a statue of Nelson Mandela :?

Big Ben.. Statue of Nelson Mandela

We wandered around Westminster then looking for the tube station, and then headed on our way to Wembley. We ended up changing trains, and JUST managed to all squeeze on. It was sooo hot on the underground, that I began to feel a little faint, and am sure had the train journey to Wembley Park station been any longer than bout 10 minutes, and I’d have probably passed out  Got to Wembley station, and the train quickly emptied, and Our Malc began chanting and trying to get everyone up for the game with his rendition of “God Save The Queen” And also “Put St George on my Flag” which a few other piped up to :D We decided to split from the other 3, and Me and Stef made our way upto my dad, so he would stop having a Panic Attack about not getting in before the kick-off etc etc

Thousands of fans emptying the Tube Station.. Wembley from a way.. Coming upto Wembley Way

Took us best part of 10 minutes to make our way from the tube to the turnstiles, and once we were inside I was quite impressed with the place. We found our seats easily enough and sat down, and started taking videos and photos of the ground to try and send to a few people who were watching the game, and wanted to know where we were sat! It tried to send these messages for the best part of 45 minutes, but kept saying “Server busy”

Our View.. The Start of the National Anthems.. England Celebrates Rooneys Goal

The first half was good, and I got a few texts off folks asking if i could streak to entertain them, and that those on Phils stag do they were having shots everytime England scored, and it was starting to get a bit messy  By 70 minutes a lot of people decided that they’d seen enough, and made their way out of the ground, including the 3 stooges (Malc, Roy and Lew). We stayed untill the end tho, cos I’ve been to games before where things go off before the final whistle! Including a game at Newcastle with Bex when we decided to leave early, and missed a sending off and a penalty grrrr.

The players go off at full-time.. The ground emptying.. Best part of 80,000 fans walking down Wembley way.

Took about an hour to get from our seats to the tube station. This is due to the fact that they are trying to get the best part of 80,000 fans into one small tube station. Finally made it back to Baker Street where we had to change over. Got back to St Pancras station, and wondered what to do next. Stef wanted to go and meet Lewi and them in the pub, but i was knackered, and just wanted to chill for a bit. Me and my dad decided to go into Starbucks, where I bought myself a massive mug, as well as a coffee and muffin, and our Stef went to Macdonalds! Once we’d finished that we gave Lewi a quick ring to find they were in Leicester Square, so we jumped onto the underground, surfaced, rang him again, and found they’d gone on somewhere else! So the 3 of us jumped onto the tube, and went across 1 stop to Picadilly.

The bright lights of Picadilly.. Lillywhites

Decided whilst I was stood outside Lillywhites, to go and purchase the England Rugby shirt, as it was on sale. From there we decided to head back to St Pancras, and basically chill waiting for the train. Got back to the train station bout 8ish, and sat about chilling waiting for the 8:55 train back to Nottingham. Met up with the 3 stooges, and made our way to the train. The ride home was comfy enough, altho my phone died, whilst I was frantically checking Wap for the England rugby score! Only to be told by a bloke a few seats behind that they’d only gone and done it! Good Old Jonny with his magic left foot helping England into their 2nd consecutive Rugby World Cup Final!

New Rugby shirt.. New England mug from Starbucks

Was gonna go out down Mansfield and meet the stag-do lads before they headed to a club, but by the time I got home I was shattered, and once i’d sat down to check my emails, there was no getting back up! I retired to bed, and waited for the news to come on and show me the highlights of the England Rugby game.

Woke up sunday, aching like hell, but got ready for football, and met the lads. We ended up losing 2-0 to the team next bottom, so we’re 4 points behind them or something. Individually we all seemed to play quite well, with Bagi having a particually great game, despite playing most of the second half injured! (That man is man of glass i’m sure  ) But as a team we dont talk enough, and that cost us two goals via Brad! Grrrr. I played for best part of 55 minutes, but towards half time, i found it really hard to catch my breath, so thought it best not to kill myself for the team  Went back to the pub for a quick pint after the game, as they’ve been moaning at the lack of numbers showing their face and that, so thought best show my face every now and again.

Nipped round to my mum and dads and nicked one of their spare sunday dinners, then came home and basically chilled out for the rest of the day with a nice long bath, and then watching Outlaw and Beerfest on DVD, till it was time for Top Gear. Yet another great show (One that a certain Mr Kirk wont be able to watch till its on the internet or something  ) and then went to bed and watched the 2nd Rugby World Cup Semi-Final. Was invited early in the day to attend the Rushley with some of the folks, but felt quite crappy, so wanted to stay in and do my own thing! i.e. SLEEP
That is pretty much my weekend folks :D Really enjoyed it, and was great to spend some time with my brothers and cousin, and on the way back me and my old man were chatting about becoming members of team england, and maybe catching one or two away games too :D

Leave comments below :D

*edit* Ohhhhhh just remembered… I need to sort a lads weekend out round Leicester Square one weekend… some of the girls down there were drop dead gorgeous! If only i wasn’t with my 2 ugly brothers, father and cousin ROFL!! It’s defo on my list of nights out now! Baring in mind I’ve kinda been invited to Bradshaws Stag-Do up in Newcastle, so I can cross that from my list

Very random news story here!!

SYDNEY (AFP) - Australian doctors revealed Wednesday that they drip-fed an Italian tourist a steady dose of vodka over three days to save his life after he poisoned himself.

The 24-year-old man was taken to a north Queensland hospital two months ago after he swallowed a large amount of a potentially-fatal substance found in antifreeze in an apparent suicide attempt.

Doctors at Mackay Base Hospital decided the best method of saving the unconscious man’s life was to reverse the effect of the poison, ethylene glycol, by giving him pharmaceutical-grade alcohol.

Dr Pascal Gelperowicz said that once the hospital’s alcohol supplies ran out doctors sent out for a case of vodka and the unusual drip was set up.

“We quickly used all the available vials of 100 percent alcohol and decided the next best way to get alcohol into the man’s system was by feeding him spirits through a nasal-gastric tube,” Gelperowicz said.

His colleague Dr Todd Fraser said the patient was given about three standard drinks an hour for three days in the intensive care unit.

“Fortunately for him, he was in a medically induced coma for a good portion of that,” he told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

“By the time he woke up, I think his hangover would have well and truly gone.”

Although unusual, the treatment was approved by hospital officials.

“The hospital’s administrators were also very understanding when we explained our reasons for buying a case of vodka,” Fraser said.

The patient regained full health and was discharged from hospital after 20 days.
