For all of you who feel the deepest love and affection for the way computers have enhanced our lives….

At a recent computer expo (COMDEX), Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated:

“If GM had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25.00 cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon”

In reponse to Bill’s comments, General Motors issued a press release stating:

If GM had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics:

  1. For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash…… Twice a day
  2. Every time they repainted the lines in the road, you would have to buy a new car
  3. Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason.  You would have to pull to the side of the road, close all windows, shut off the car, restart it, and reopen the windows before you could continue.  For some reason you would simply accept this.
  4. Occasionally, executing a maneuver such as a left turn would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to reinstall the engine.
  5. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast and twice as easy to drive - but would run on only 5% of the roads
  6. The Oil, Water Temperature and Alternator warning lights would all be replaced by a single “This Car Has Performed An Illegal Operation” warning light
  7. The Airbag system would ask “Are you sure?” before deploying
  8. Occasionally, for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in, until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key and grabbed hold of the arial.
  9. Every time a new car was introduced car buyers would have to learn how to drive all over again because none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car
  10. You’d have to press the “Start” button to turn off the engine

This may be old, but still made me chuckle :)

And the silly thing is i aint that sure why i’m all fed up and that :?

Last night i gave Crit a lift home, cos he’d walked to work cos of the snow and that, and had a look at his new HDTV, which looks pretty impressive, specially when playing the xbox on it hehehe, then went home to get something to eat! Went on the xbox, but soon got bored of that for some reason, and so just sat there watching telly! Watched CSI again on Channel 5 US, and then at 9 decided to hit the lights. For some reason i think it was the worst nights sleep i’ve had in a while! ended up waking up almost every half an hour, and then taking a while to get back to sleep! This was not helped by cars trying to get up my street from about 5 this morning, and all you can hear is engines revving as they try and get up the hill :lol:

And its that reason that i decided to walk to work! Plus the fact i really couldnt be arsed to stand and sort my car out to make the 2 minute journey to work.

Tonight i think i’m gonna head over to rainworth if my street will allow! Go see Owen and my mum and dad! Gets me out the house and that, and is free, so maybe worth doing :lol:

Just to brighten up my day, when taking photos of some marquee components for work purposes, Crit decided to pose for me :lol:

Work kinda flew by yesterday, cos i was making my own entertainment, by abusing maddsy at every available moment :lol: Which is always a good thing! Lee went to the chippy and made himself useful for once, and i had a nice curry mix avec sausage :D

I didnt go to the maxxd football for one of a few reasons last week…. because i sometimes get slightly over-zealous, and go in for stupid tackles that will one day end up injuring someone! It’s funny when you take them out, but maybe not when they’re rolling round on the floor and its your fault :|

Last night i decided to go to football, so after visiting Ollie in his gaff, and looking round his new car, i went over to football in my car, as i had to nip to asda for some essentials, and he was going straight to ED in his car. Was quite packed, and to start with there wasn’t much room, so i was drifting around from here to there, and taking any goal scoring chances that came my way in typical shearer predator fashion (thats Scott Shearer for you football people in the know! Not Alan :lol: ) Then i decided to annoy Ollie so every time he was about to shoot, i’d come flying in from some angle and take the ball! At one point he was running to retrieve the ball from the corner so i went sliding across and took the ball, then heard Phil with his heavy footsteps coming running across, so moved out the way and let phil take out ollie! Nice one mate! He’s on your team you ‘tard! Later on it was Johns turn! Altho unlike the other weeks when i’ve kicked John for fun, i flicked the ball just before he got there, and he smashed the bottom of my foot! :oops: NOT MY FAULT THIS TIME!

Near the end there was a ball NEEDED winning, so stupidly i went full-bloodied into a tackle with little matty lee! and came off worst! I smashed the bridge of my foot on his shin, and it’s now sore as hell :( Ah well! Got best part of 10 goals last night iirc hehehe

Now reading my mate Allys blog yesterday, got me thinking, and i know i shouldn’t think very often and all that :| If i’m honest i’ve not felt that well for about a week or so now! I seem to have lost part of my appetite, and i seem to have no energy most of the time! Hence me wanting to buy shares in Lucazade :lol: Also i do seem to feel ill once i’ve eaten a meal! I’ve just been putting it all down to the fact i cant seem to get any sleep at the minute, and even tho i’m physically shattered, i find myself watching telly till the stupid hours, cos i just cant sleep! :( No idea why! I know maybe i should go to the doctors! Suppose i’ll see what happens!

I’ll be keeping my eye out for more random pictures, so stay tuned :lol:

Had a few random chats with Dave for a few weeks again now, and he’s been filling me in on all the random stuff they’ve been getting upto over there in Paphos i think it is:

Dave: Well i came out the closet last night ROFL

Me: Ha Ha Ha we knew that already dave mate

Dave: But it wasn’t my closet… I was hiding from an egyptian

Dave: Exactly what i did after i’d stopped shitting myself! Honestly the funniest thing thats happened in the last few weeks mate. I cant stop laughing. I know its worthless without pics, but i woke up this morning… being pushed out of bed and being told i had to hide in the cupboard.. then i heard a knock at the door!!

Basically he goes on about how he’d found this picture of said egyptian, and to be fair he looks pretty mean! And would maybe only have chopped one of djb’s bollocks off i he’d have humoured him by dancing or something stupid like that :lol:

So yesterday was a quite one at work! I spent half the day re-drawing a Midland Scoobies logo!

Not my best work by any stretch of the imagination, but i was happy enough with it :D

Nipped round to Ollies after work, but he wasn’t in, so left him a present at the side of his wheeliebin, and then txt to him make him aware there was something there for him :lol: then proceeded home to watch the next installment of Prison Break :D. What can i say other than it was another excellent episode, but i really cant see how much further they can take the storyline :lol: I’d got some more paperwork through from Northern Rocks Solicitors, so phoned Geoff when i got in, and he came round at 7, so we could sign them in the right place, and get them sent off today! Rather than me keep them on the coffee table, and keep forgetting about them! I’m sure he said all i need to do now is wait for the Transfer of the Deeds to come through, get Bex to sign them, with Geoff as a witness or something, and then wait for further contact from Northern Rock! Atleast things are moving in the right direction :D

Sat and watched Over the Hedge after that! I forgot how much i enjoyed watching this film 1st time round hehehe! I really am a big kid at heart, and love watching CGI / animated films like this!

Then it was time for CSI which was a bit of a weird episode this week! As they were going through 5 different cases they’d solved in the past via different methods and things! Decided to stay up an extra hour, and watch CSI Miami too hehehe. Was an episode where this notorious gang decide to put a stop to Horatio’s meddling, and basically put a “green light ” on him!

Tonight i’m in 2 minds as to wether or not i go to maxxd 5-a-side or go watch england round at my mums house and abuse my brother who i imagine will be there to watch the game too *sits thinking… but stops thinking soon after as it hurts too much*

Yesterday was a normal day at work like any other really! nothing to shout to the roof top about :lol: Had a good chat with Fi during the day, and Jackman apologised for being a Burk, altho it turns out it wasn’t his fault! O2 were being gay, and his phone was buggered or something, so he couldn’t ring me to tell me they weren’t playing on Coppice Road! But he apologised for his “Gay Slur” in a post on maxxd :lol:
Called into the Chippy on the way home, and treated myself to a take-away for the first time in a while hehehe! I’m a bugger i know! Geoff came round to sort out the paperwork i’d been sent by the solicitors acting on behalf of Northern Rock, and he said he’s gonna get them to send the Deed Transfer papers ASAP, so we can get Bex to sign it, Geoff will witness it, and then thats the next stage done!!! Hopefully not many more stages after this :|

After that i sat on msn for a while, whilst watching the latest Royal Rumble on Youtube! Was shit quality, and i know it’s all fake, but i still watch it, and still find it entertaining to say the least! Ally came online not long after, so me and her had a proper random and in-depth chat about this and that, and basically put the world to rights :D I do enjoy chatting to Ally! She seems a really nice lass, and we seem to talk about anything, even tho we’ve only spoken in person about twice! And even then it was really briefly! :lol:

Tonight i’ve gotta go take my bro over to Shirebrook to price up a decorating job for a woman at work, and then i’ll prob call in on my mother after that! See if i cant wind her up :lol: Specially if our lewi comes round too! As he does tend to rip on my dad quite a lot! And I think now we aint living at home, my dad seems to take the ribbing on the chin alot easier than when we were living at home! Cos as soon as we’ve gone it’s forgotten about! Which i suppose is good!

After that i’ll be watching the new episode of CSI! YAY!!! That seems to be all i’ve watched on telly lately! Oh yeah i should be able to watch Prison Break too tonight! So two of my favourite shows back to back hehehe
