Well what a weekend that was just gone (I know it’s already Wednesday before I even got anywhere close to writing anything on this) My eyes have been terrible tho! Not stopped itching and that all weekend, but that comes from Friday night I suppose! Where better a place to start my little story

It was a wet and miserable Friday night football, but sometimes they’re just the best!  Sliding around and everything always makes it fun.  Me and Troy learnt a very valuable lesson (again) this weekend.  Don’t play football in the rain with gel in your hair! IT STINGS LIKE HELL!! Not being funny but checking my eyes in the changing rooms after they were red raw! I looked like some sort of Rabid Wiggy or something! Not very pretty to say the least.  Was an early-ish night as I was to be up at 6 for work :(

I seem to look VERY rough in that photo! I put it down to playing football in the rain with gel in my eyes, and a nasty lack of sleep that’s killing me for some reason :(

As promised Al was outside my door bout 6.20am and we met up with Karl on our way to McDonald’s on the Chesterfield roundabout, as we’d managed to get him into paying for out breakfast (little consolation for my usual high quality Debenhams breakfast but I didn’t pay so mustn’t grumble) Got to our destination and very quickly set about erecting the 8 marquees that were on hire.  It took us about 2 hours or so to put them all up, and they did look great (even if I say so myself being an employee of the firm haha!) Then after dropping Al off at work and disposing of the cardboard, me and Karl headed over to Eakring for another hire, which was postponed from the day before due to the shitty weather we’ve been having this neck of the woods lately.  Was home by 12 and found myself laid in bed for a few hours trying my hardest to catch up on a bit of sleep, but it seemed to be to no avail, as I just seemed to lay there :(

Look into my eyes.. Now you feel ill!

Before long it was time to go and take down the marquees, and so I jumped into the van with my clothes for the nights drunken fun and antics round Chesterfield with Maddsy and some of his mates.  Took us just over an hour I think to take them down, and then we headed to the local shop for some beers and then round to Simon’s to get ready! I’d briefly met Darren before, and had met Simon a few times, but the other 3 or 4 of them were unknown to me.  They’re all a great bunch of lads.  Even Crit had managed to come out with us.

Beers were starting to flow easily once we got in to Wetherspoons in Sutton, and then again once we arrived at our destination.  It was rammed as per usual.  Went to many different haunts and we were all having a really good time.  By the time we got into Livingstons, which is £10 entry and drinks are free, some were more worse for wear than others, and I couldn’t seem to enjoy myself in there, so in typical loner fashion, I headed over to Escpades, and quite enjoyed it.  Randomly got chatting to some lads and lasses in the queue, and decided it was safer to drink water for the rest of the night.  Met back up with them at the same place the bus dropped us off, when some unsavory shenanigans kicked off, which kinda spoilt the night.  It’s all been forgotten about now anyway (or atleast I hope it has) altho we headed back home minus 1 person! Never a good way to end the night.  We arrive together we leave together (unless you remember me, Bagi and Wayniac leaving Tony and Ian in Chesterfield a year or so back

We seemed to have the world’s chattiest Mini-Bus driver and he was chatting away till he had dropped me off an hour later, with me being his last stop, before he headed off to Manchester for an Airport pick-up!

In typical Wiggy fashion again, I was wide awake just after 7am, and tried to nod back off, but my brain was having non of it, so I just laid on the sofa, kinda amazed that I didn’t have a hangover like I normally do! I felt tired but fine all day, apart from when I got to my mum and dads and our Owen was being his usual little bugger self.  Altho he’s more than happy to sit on my dads computer and watch Thomas The Tank Engine or Chuggington videos.  Our Stef was trying to sleep during all this, as he’d been to an all night rave/festival thing called the Tree Festival.  Wonder how much tree-hugging was going on hmmm

Monday was just a typical Monday.  Hardly anyone in the office, and a bloody delivery arrives! Fair play tho Maddsy mucked in, altho his phone still went off every 5 minutes haha!  In the end we lost about 3/4 of a day Monday through various things.  The gym hurt Monday night, having already done the warm up in the morning, and my hamstrings were killing me from the Saturdays exhertion with the hire jobs, and dancing like a buffoon, so I decided against heading to training with John.

Lets get started then!

Let's get started then!

What a Monday morning welcome! (Yeah I do stand around taking photos rather than helping)

Tuesday afternoon was lost due to me going out to pick some stuff up, then drive aimlessley around Meadowhall to find this lady who I had to drop a few marquee bits off for.  She could have chosen somewhere with a slightly smaller car-park maybe!  Then came the pain later that evening.  John’s mate Troy tends to train on his own, so he does lots of super-sets to really push himself as hard as he can, and it shows!  He really worked the pair of us until we had  that look of pain in our faces and our arms felt numb! It was a bloody good work out, and I’m really really feeling it today!  What normally takes us 45 minutes turned into a gruelling hour and a half.  We were even doing press-ups at the end, until we could take it no more and collapsed on the floor haha!

Hmmm I think the World of Football is sometimes a crazy place, and thats been further shown today, when the Ex-England Manager Sven Göran Eriksson took over as director of football at Notts County! This is defo a werid one, but the biggest chuckle must have come when he said he sees them being in the Premier League in 5 years.  Ok I know this may bite me in the ass, and they have done something similar before being relegated from the top flight just before the Premier League came to fruition, but it’s a big call.  He says he’s not following the money, but we’ll see if someone bigger comes calling!
