Intensive 6 week course..

Or thats what me and John are trying to do in the gym.  He’s got 6 weeks till him and Caz go to Ayia Napa for their holidays, and he’s wanting to be in the best shape he can be.  Of course even tho I am not going anywhere this year rather than sit back and watch him struggle through his sets, I’m joining him in this intensive session.  The only part we can’t seem to work on properly is the top part of the chest.  Anyone with a good fitness background got any decent weight-training exercises for this part?  It’s safe to say last night I was feeling quite pumped after one of the hardest sessions we’d got through in some time.  Luckily John dosen’t seem to have lost too much power in his hand after his injury best part of 10 weeks ago!!

Got into watching the Confederations Cup which is in South Africa, and is the usual warm-up for the host nation of the World Cup a year later, and is seen as a good dress rehersal.  Poor Howard Webb it seems just can’t stay out of the headlines with his dodgy decisions.  OK it was the CORRECT decision, but how he came about it is the cause for some outrage from Egyptian quarters.  I love how the player slowly falls into the side netting, and then knowing what he’s done makes out the ball smashed him on the head, or that his head hit the post    Howard Webb is gonna be trying a new communication thing next season to stop wrong decisions being given against Man Utd.  When in charge of a Man Utd game, Howard and his team will all have headsets that work on Sir Alex’s frequency, thus ensuring no wrong doing during a game.

News a little closer to home.  Heard on the radio this morning, and read about it HERE about a man who was tasered twice by the police, in the middle of being arrested.  Having read the news story on the BBC, he is alleged to have assulted a Police Officer, which lead to said officer needing hopsital treatment.

Video footage of a man being shot twice with a Taser gun has been passed to the police complaints body.

The man was filmed struggling during the incident on Sunday night in Upper Parliament Street, Nottingham, as four officers attempted to arrest him.

A large group appeared and some people remonstrated with officers.

Nottinghamshire Police said no complaint had been made but they have referred the footage to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).

The footage shows two officers trying to arrest the man who is lying in the road outside Nottingham’s Theatre Royal.

But when they encounter difficulty, the officer with the Taser orders his colleague to let go of the man.

Wiggys latest adventure!

Been a while since I last put a meaningful blog post on here, and I do apologise.  Guess having one of the craziest sleeping patterns this last week has just sent me almost careering over the edge.  For some reason if I go to bed early, say 9pm, I’ll wake up at half 11, nod back off after 20 minutes of tossing and turning, then I’ll be awake again bout 1 / half 1ish, and the same around 3.  Once it gets to ha;f 5 in the morning, I can’t seem to get back to sleep.  Lets hope these sleeping tablets I’ve heard of via my mother work (Won’t know till I get my hands on them in about 2 weeks tho lol)

Tuesday night I was too knackered to even contemplate the gym, not that I’d have been able to lift much anyway, as both my chest and arms felt like lead, so I ended up chilling out, hoping to sleep early, but to no avail.  Wednesday seemed to drag like hell, but I got a text off John saying he was off work, and so we could fit a gym session in before the England game that night.  Was the first session we’d had on the shoulders for a while, and given that we were still aching badly from Mondays session, I’m surprised we were able to lift anything at all haha!  Every rep seemed to drain all my energy, but I still managed to complete them all.  The game was pretty much as predicted.  11 men behind the ball for Andorra as they try and keep the score as respectable as they can.  6-0 it finished in the end, but I can’t help but think it could and maybe should have been more.  Not to complain tho, as 10 goals scored in 2 internationals with non conceded, means we’re sitting pretty 10 points clear at the top of our group

2 days to go..

Till the Championship fixtures for the 2009/2010 season are published, and then I can start planning the Newcastle vs Forest game with some Forest fan HAHA! And maybe going to Bramall Lane to see the United boys crying into their Bovril (is that still the drink of choice up there do you know Mr 6k?) haha!  A nice article from Paul Fletchers Blog on the BBC Website about how the fixtures list is determined HERE

Los Galácticos II

Finally, after about 2 seasons of openly courting the player, it seems Real Madrid are on the verge of a Record breaking transfer of £80million for the fake Ronaldo. I for one will be glad to see the back of his dispicable diving antics on the pitch, BUT I have to admit that his skills and noteably free-kicks (When they come off) will be missed in the Premier League.  One Man Utd fan close to me has suddenly changed his whole opinion of the bloke like a light switch.  From being the best player in the world lalala to a foul mouthed tirade against a “diving-scum, who rolls around on the floor whilst the opponents attack” – that was a clean part of the tirade haha!  He may be costing Madrid a hell of a lot of money like Kaka, BUT i am guessing they are gonna make a bucket load back through shirt sales around the world etc.  The need a defender or two I feel tho, and reckon Vidic would be a perfect signing ;)

Manchester United have accepted a world record offer of £80m from Real Madrid for Cristiano Ronaldo.

“United have agreed to give Real Madrid permission to talk to the player,” said a statement from the English club.

It added that the decision came at Ronaldo’s request after he “again expressed his desire to leave”

From the BBC Sport Website.

Me and Mark had a bit of a chat stating we’d LOVE to go and watch one of the El Classico derbies next season, altho tickets are going for stupid money.  Seems that it’s gonna be Man City and Real MAdrid topping the summer spending charts, and Man City have a long way to go to beat Madrid (Plus how many “Superstars” wanna go there?)

Weird News from around the world.

Doing my random news catch-up this evening, and I came across one or two stories that are a little weird.

I know the banking crisis has left everyone a little aprehensive about putting their money into a bank account, This woman had other ideas…

A woman mistakenly threw away a mattress containing her live savings worth almost $1million.

Her awful moment of realisation set off a frantic search through Israeli landfill sites – with no joy so far.

The woman in Tel Aviv said she bought her elderly mother a new mattress as a surprise present and threw out the old one.

Mental note… DO NOT put on twitter or facebook when I’m gonna be out of my house for a fair amount of time..

A Twitter addict will be poring through his 2,000 online “followers”, after suspecting one of them might have burgled his home.

Israel Hyman blames his online “tweets” for the break-in that deprived him of thousands of pounds’ worth of electrical equipment.

He believes he may have tempted intruders to his empty house after revealing on Twitter that he and his wife were “preparing to head out of town”, had “another ten hours of driving ahead”, and had finally “made it to Kansas City”.

This brings a whole new meaning to the term “Pins and Needles”

It’s a rather extreme case of pins and needles – doctors in China found more than 100 needles in a patient’s body.

Needless needles: the x-ray showing the patient's needle-filled body

Needless needles: the x-ray showing the patient’s needle-filled body

Liu Lijian, 46, came to casualty complaining of shooting pains. To the astonishment of doctors, when they examined him, they found needles in every part of his body apart from his head.

Scans and X-rays showed that, in his stomach alone, he had 38 needles under his skin.

Talk of the Toon!

Well what a weekend that was! More about that in a moment tho.  Friday was the begining of my random weekend.  We got a call mid-morning that something needed picking up from Market Harborough, and as there was only me, Maddsy and Smash (who only rides on 2 wheels) it was down to me to head off to go and pick it up! Chuckled to myself as I was getting closer to my destination, when Wigston started appearing on the Sat-Nav.  People who know me will know how easily pleased I am, so I took a bit of a detour through Wigston on the way home.  All in all I was out the office for a few hours.  The only downside was the piping hot Roast Pork, Apple Sauce and Stuffing cob that was placed on my desk at 12pm, only for me to return closer to 2pm :( Nothing worse than eating what was once a nice hot filled cob, that has gone cold! I vented my disgust but to no avail haha! Football was a bit crap this week, as only 11 turned up again.  It’s better when you get about 14 and its nice and even then.

Had hoped for a lie in Saturday morning, but with me being the lazy sod I was, I hadn’t got anything together for the weekend away with Bagi and the lads, so I was up early.  Then I ended up sat around for what seemed like an eternity waiting for them to come and pick me up.  Bagi’s earlier estimation of being at mine bout half 10 turned into 1pm! Almost 3 hours of sat watching the telly bored out of my tree.   The mood was nice and jovial on the way up, listening to Michael Jackson among other random music on Wayniacs Ipod.  Got to the hotel after only a minor detour, with Butler taking a left instead of a right haha

My Adgitize Earnings

So just over a month ago I took the plunge and paid $14 out of my Paypal account to become an Adgitize advertiser, as well as a publisher.  The result of this is a $21 payment from Ken.  I earnt $3.04 in the final few days of April, but it was the start of May once I became an advertiser too, that my daily earnings (when a blog was posted) were reaching $0.6-0.7  It’s also great to see the whole site expanding.  When I first joined there was a total of about 51 advertisers and now in the space of a month it’s grown to 110.

Paid Out $1200 to Publishers for May

We paid out over $1200 including over $30 to 6 publisher / affiliates. The top 3 payouts were $57.61, $39.74 and $38.49. Congratulations to the high performers. Now, to earn this much you had to write everyday. You had to be an advertiser and you had to have sponsored affiliates that became an advertiser.

Sixty eight publishers received income over $10 in May. Exactly half of those were paid more than $14. This pretty much paid for an ad for June. (Or some yummy ice cream during the hot summer months.)

Our publisher network is now showing over 25 million ad views a month. That is over 800,000 ads shown per day or nearly 35,000 ads per hour. Do you want to get some exposure to your blog? Try to advertise on the Adgitize Ad Network and see what happens.

From the latest Adgitize blog.  Think I need to get myself recruiting some new blogs who take out adverts on there haha!

So thats paid for my June advertising with a few $$’s to spare, so lets see what June brings us.  Onwards and Upwards

Adgitize Payment for May

Just click on the blue Adgitize button on my side bar and sign up,  Then follow Kens easy guide to earning points, cos we all know what points = haha!

The boy with super strength!

Busy channel hopping last night and I was lucky enough to catch the beginning of this program that had me intrigued all the way through.  It was about a 3 year old lad from near Lake Michigan, who has a disease that has lead him to being stronger than his fellow 3 year olds.  His muscles were a whopping 40% larger than his peers.  Also he seemed to have boundless amounts of energy, and was up before your normal 3 year old, and he was not sleeping till 10pm! Very little body fat if any at all, and also quite a well-defined body

TODDLER Liam Hoekstra is at the centre of a media and medical frenzy.

He’s been dubbed a mini-Superman and the teeny Incredible Hulk. But behind the headlines he’s simply a little boy with super strength.

Liam, now aged three, was born with a rare condition which has allowed his muscle mass to grow much larger than average.

Tests show that he is stronger than 85 per cent of six-year-olds – children twice his age. He could be a future Olympic gold winner, and may also help unlock a cure for lethal muscle wasting diseases.

Taken from HERE

Me and Smash then got talking bout this at work, as he;d seen a program about “Double-Muscled” Dogs and Cows, and the cows had been mentioned on the program last night (The Belgian Blue breed of cow).  These looked like animals on Steroids, and if I was on Roids I’d wajnt a dog or Cow like these!!

Thats one mean looking cow!

But not as mean looking as that Whippet.  It’s meant to be something to do with Myostatin.  The only worries in the program seemed to be that the lad may be excluded from certain things, for fear of him having an unfair advantage over his peers.  Put it this way, seeing him do 17 sit-ups in a minute has made me “Sit-up” and take note! See how many I can pull off

Right looking forward to watching The Mentalist once again, as it looks from the adverts like it’s gonna be a good one.  Busy laughing at Paul Merton in India at the moment, trying to play “Blind-Cricket”.
