So it’s been a mixed weekend.  The highs of going out with the lads saturday night, and all the drunken antics that go with that, and then the extreme lows of this weekend i.e. Rangers winning the title, and the Toon dropping into the Championship  It does hurt deep down, but I suppose the fact I resigned myself to this for a few weeks, means I had prepared myself a little ready for it.

Anyway, Saturday was a long day, with me getting up about 8 to go and meet my mother in town for our usual Saturday morning walk around town and breakfast.  Walked into River Island, and saw a T-shirt and Jumper combination, so I ended up buying them to wear out that night.  Dropped my mother off at the coffee shop, and then nipped up to hers for a shower, as I began smelling like a yak (no offence Harry).  Got home, and got my stuff ready, as Maddsy was due anytime between 1 and 1:40 for my afternoon being a taxi driver.  Both car-parks were rammed at the Festival Hall, but Maddsy managed to find a place behind a shop, and so I headed to the gym for a good hard session, before heading back to his to get ready.  Since I last drove my car 3 weeks ago I’ve driven:

Maddsy’s L200

Stevie’s Merc

Work’s Renault Traffic

Mark’s Land Rover

Picked them up earlier than expected, and then went to pick up Stevies sister who was baby-sitting for them as we all went into town later than night.  Got to the Staff of Life and there was already a decent gathering of lads and wags, and Crewy and his brother paid us a visit too.  We all got the trophies out of the way, with Smithy taking 5 of the bloody things, and we had our R&K quiz, with questions on this season and last, and we tied with Maddsys team on 14, even tho we only answered 19 questions *Only Bobby can answer why tho hmmmm*  The team of Willa, Smithy and Nick won the quiz with 16, which makes me think that someone had inside information, and we demand an explenation Mr Bradshaw haha!  After a few more beers, we got close to our chucking out time of 10pm, as the room was booked from 6-10.  Some of us heading into town pretty much turned into about 20 of us.  We were all walking to the taxi rank, when we saw a bus in the Bus Station ready to pull off, so me and Catherine made our way onto the bus and told the driver to wait for the rest.  Me and Catherine paid, but then Brad decided he’d pay everyones bus fare! Bastard I miss out again.  Willa was smashed on the bus, and had me, Catherine and Maz laughing, whilst Smithy just sat/laid in his seat just giggling away.  He really did make the night Willa, and he tried his hardest to set me and Catherine up on the bus, but we were too busy laughing at him.  In fact it seems we have half a football team of match-makers who were all trying, but I am still that shy lad I’ve always been    We all headed into Chicagos, and we were having a ball in there.  Bumped into a lad called Colin Bramwell, who I’d not seen for the best part of 15 years or more.  I’m surprised he remembered me, cos I sure as hell didn’t recognise him, till he mentioned our Lew, and how he was alerted to his misdemeanor by Adam Kehoe.  Then it all clicked.  As per usual the testosterone was flowing once some of the lads saw the punch-ball machine.  Smithy had a few goes against Malcy Birch, and then one of the comedy moments of the night (This extract is taken from Brads un-cut version of the Presentation night over on our chat forum haha!

Smithy asking a girl to hold his pint before hitting the punch bag machine and then following through, totally knocking his own pint all all this poor girl.

Everyone left around 12ish I think, so I headed into Liquid to see Pete, and ended up hanging around with Nab.  We were having a right laugh on one of the podiums dancing like a “Roid-Freak” Basically sucking as much air as you can, pumping your chest out, and dancing with your arms out just swaying! Was funny at the time.

The R&K Convoy from the Staff to the bus station

Wish I hand’t woken up on sunday morning, as I found myself awake about 6am, then again at 9.  My god I felt rough.  Had a bit of a text chat with Bobby and a few others, and just laid on the sofa feeling very sorry for myself.  Tried to watch the Monaco Gand-Prix, but kept nodding off for about 5 laps at a time, then watching half a lap and nodding off again.  Watched the first half of the Newcastle game, and you could hear the massive roar from 3,000 Geordies at Villa Park when Man Utd took the lead.  But it wasn’t to be, and in a way its a good thing we’ve gone down, becasue it gives us a chance to re-build the club from scratch, rather than paper over the cracks like in the last few seasons.  I think Shearer was bang on with his assesment after the game, and I know he’s hurting just as basd as any of us fans who love the club.  It’s hurting a lot, given the fact that we helped keep the scum from the village of the unwashed in the Premier League, leaving them the title of “Biggest Club in the North-East” Not for too long tho, as I’m sure we’ll bounce straight back.  Even tho the championship seems to be the hardest divison to get out of, given so many teams that used to be in the Premier League seem to struggle.  Hell look at Norwich, Southampton and Charlton! All used to mid-table finishes in the Premier League, then dropped down, and have taken a further drop.  I just hope we don’t do a Leeds, and can keep some of the younger players at the club, and get rid of some of the players who just didn’t look like they gave a damn at the end.  It’s a horrible feeling that I know is not gonna go away till next season has started, but I feel the Premier League won’t be the same until the Toon are back in the big-time.  Good luck to Sheff United, who are in the Play-off final against Burnley later today.  Suppose I’ll be routing for them for Mr 6k.
