So this weekend was Jocks stag-do and it involved him out on an all-day drinking sesh with some of his close mates, before meeting a few of the football lads that had nothing better to do on a sat night, so thought what the hell and went down Mansfield. They had been out since 11am round Nottingham and then got the train into Mansfield and met us few, albeit about an HOUR AND A HALF LATE! Oh well more on that later I guess.

Well this weekends football results have certainly helped the Toon a little, and its now up to us to go out and do the business against a stingy Pompey side who under Paul Hart seem to have stopped shipping goals, and seem to be boring their way to a draw or nicking a goal for the win.  We really do need the crowd behind the lads tonight.

Friday I  dragged my aching carcass over to Manor to play footy with Teddy and them and went in net, and tried to save a shot, but my wrist seemed to give way  My body is falling to bits I tell you! There was a massive bruise on my shoulder from where I had been hoisting rolls of fabric up onto my shoulder to carry them through into the building and onto the shelves, and it hurt like hell.  After that I just messed about with a few episodes of NCIS and CSI New York on in the background.

As per usual met my mum in Tesco and we then headed into town so I could pay a cheque into the bank and have breakfast.  I’d been given the cheque Thursday afternoon, and with all the running around we were doing Friday it was the first chance I’d had to pay it in.  After breakfast we nipped into the coffee shop, and then I had a quick shower before heading for my haircut.  got abused as per usual by Claire and Laura, altho the pair of them seemed a little subdued and not their usual bubbly selves.  By the time I’d finished in there it was off home to get ready, before heading to the Staff of life for half 6 to meet Brad, Bobby and Gregg.  For some stupid reason tho I was ready with an hour to kill (I HATE waiting around for people or just waiting in general) so I decided to head to McDonalds for something to eat, as I’d been so busy getting ready and having my haircut that I’d not had chance to eat anything since Breakfast

Whilst in the staff of Life we saw on the Telly via Sky Sports News that Man Utd were losing 2-0, and that they’d been given a penalty, and Ronaldo had smashed it home.  Little did we expect when we finally got into town that with 5 minutes to go it’d be 5-2 to Man Utd! Altho it’s not the first time Spuds have been a few goals up and capitulated in such fine fashion against Man Utd.  Harry Yacks little report made me laugh.  We ended up waiting around in the Swan for about about half an hour, before Jock text saying he’d be 20 minutes.  An hour passed, and we came to the conclusion that he was asleep on his way to the Reading on the Train or something having missed the Mansfield stop.  We all went for a piss as lads do  And I said that Jock had prob got off in Sutton and he’d be tucked up in bed throwing up, then turned round to see the wee bald scotsman stood there having a piss, so my conversation with Bobby went something like this.

Me – “Jock’s prob got off the train in Sutton and gone home or something”

Bobby – “Well I’m gonna have his starting place if he don’t turn up which he aint gonna is he”

Me – “Yeah he’s prob somewhere far away from here *turns to side* OR he’s stood here having a piss right next to me”

Went from The Swan to Yates’s and Jock ended up handcuffed to a pole, of which I’m dissapointed I never got a photo, altho if Bobby is reading this… send them me :D   Then we headed into Marthas which was horrible as always, and then the dreaded 70′s and 80′s bar.  Jesus I can’t stand places like this, and was very reluctant to join the other lads on the dance floor.  specially after seeing Jock’s drunken dancing to “Kung-Fu Fighting” See Videos below (Sorry they’re on their side I’m trying to find a way to get them the other way  )

Jocks Dancing

Jocks Kung-Fu Fighting

Gregg buggered off to Flanagans,. whilst me, Bobby and Brad stumbled (Well the pair of them did) Over to Andwhynots.  Had a drink in there and got abused by one member of bar staff (The lass who serves me and my mum breakfast) and we bought a wrist band for a fiver which gets us entry into the club upstairs.  Was a decent night up there, and Gregg met up with us later moaning like fuck that he had to pay £7 to get in there  UNLUCKY MATE.  Decided to knock it on the head bout 12:45 as I was knackered, and a little fed up, (Do you know how difficult it is to dance sober! You feel like everyone is watching you) You’d think the fun would end there, but it didnt  Whilst Brad was on a mission finding out WHY Subway didn’t do chips or hotdogs, Nab walked passed quite drunk and so had a bit of a conversation with him and Mush Emma, and Amy came out, and Bobby had a grin on his face and she said something along the lines of  “I know you don’t I?” to which Bobby (still grinning may I add) Said you’re on my facebook then giggled! After about 2 minutes of that it clicked and Amy remembered that it was through Maz she knew him.  Not long after getting in the car Brad started moaning and groaning saying he was feeling sick. Bobby and Brad both told me they’d visited the R&K Fanzine and Bobby was gutted that I’d not folllowed last seasons example and changed every man of the match to me    Once I’d dropped Bobby off, he got out and stood against a fence looking VERY ill.  Jumped back in and we managed a short trip to drop Gregg off, before he jumped out again.  Two more quick stops, and then I was motoring down the A38.  Had to break suddenly, and stick the Hazards on, as Brad decided he couldn’t stomach either his sausage and chips or his beer (guessing both) and he had the car door slightly open before I’d even managed to stop.  It waas with me stranded on the A38 that he decided to throw his guts up and more, before getting back in the car 10 minutes later feeling and looking better

Due to the evening/nights intake of caffeine I found myself watching Oceans 11 for a bit in bed till about 2am, and then managed to nod off, to find myself waking up at 7am, and feeling like I was hungover :? got ready and headed over to Maddsys for 10 minutes to pick the kit up and then met up with the lads.  the 3 of them that were out last night didn’t look all that hungover, and Jock turned up late, and it was evident that he was gonna try his hardest NOT to head a ball once the whistle had gone at the start of the match. Their linesman was the biggest cheat I’ve known.  Everytime the ball was played through between their defenders, he stuck his flag up.  In the end the ref started ignoring him and he had a smile on his face everytime he turned to see the flag waving.  Best part was when the ball had justgone out, and Sammo kicked it to their keeper, but it went behind the net, and their Linesman told the keeper not to get it, and was shouting abuse at Sammo tellinghim he should get the bloody ball! Another VERY amusing moment was in the first half, when Bud rifled a shot from an angle, and missed the net, but connected squqre on the side of this young girls head, knocking her flying.  Her feet stayed where they were, but her head must have moved about 5 yards, before her feet left the floor and followed her

Brads Match Report:

This result has secured RandK fourth place in the league with a game to spare.

Without sounding too biased…Shirebrooks linesman was a joke to himself and the team, his constant flagging ruined what was potentially a good game of football, Shirebrook C are a bunch of mainly young lads but how will they learn anything with a clown running their line?

We had 3 goals disallowed today, 1 righty so, but the other 2 should have stood.

RandK controlled this game from start to finish and at times it was like watching an exibitition match, however we got lowered to their level and did not make them pay for some of the worst defending i’ve seen from any team this season.

RandK took the lead when Nick hit home from a Bud corner then just before half-time Nick turned provider to set Winty up to score past the advancing goalie.

Half-time 0-2

At half-time it was mentioned that we needed to step it up abit, but with a few of the lads still recovering from the previous nights antics and Wiggy recovering from his overdose on Cola and J2O, we found it hard to get out of 1st gear.

The second half mainly consisted of the Clown with a flag and some petty angruments on the pitch, but nothing more than banter to a point.

Highlights of the second half included Wiggy going on a mazy run and blazing wide and Willa having a shot saved by the keeper after a good team move.

Bud received abooking for a late challenge as did Rob, and from the resulting free-kick Shirebrook came closest to scoring by skimming the post. Greg than got booked for dissent with minutes remaining.

A good result today boys under the circumstances and another clean sheet, no game next week before we travel to basement side Annesley Park in our last game of the season.

MOM – Wiggy, chosen by Col. Looks like a player reborn in the last few games.  Starting to show his silky skills more often, and is a rock in the heart of our defence alongside Smithy and Rob.  We had to take him off to stop him embarrassing their players time and time again, and also to rest him for his game up front in his quest to get his elusive first goal for the club

Goal summary:

20 min – Nick Jones (6/10)
Richard Waring supplied the corner, and Nick Jones found the net from six yards out with a clinical right footed effort.

42 min – Chris Wint (7/10)
A well delivered through-ball from Nick Jones was converted by Chris Wint. A fine finish with the right foot from 12 yards out.

Headed back to the pub with the lads for a drink before making my way over to my mum and dads.  Our Owen was there with his new glasses, and for some reason he seemed a little hyper, and he was busy playing with his new train track.  Didn’t see him for all that long as my dad went to the car wash and our Owen loves being sat in the car as they go through, and when my dad fills up with petrol and things.  Sure he’ll be a mechanic when he grows up.  Watched the back end of the Bahrain Grand Prix before heading home for a nice long soak in the bath.  Watched the rest of Oceans 11, and messed about online chatting to CarolAnne whilst waiting for Blade to come on, then headed to bed :D
