Random Domain Renewal time

I’ve bought some random domain names in the past few years, and 2 of them have just expired, so I guess the job tonight is to renew them!  Most of the domains actually just point straight here, but I may set up one of them random Google Ad pages up.  It’s rare I get any hits through them sites, as I never advertise them anywhere.

Last night’s game was a bit more of a footballing spectacle than the bruising encounter of Tuesday night And sets it up for a decent 2nd leg down at The Emirates.  Of all the people Arsenal could leave free in the box it must have been John O’Shit, and he must have surprised even himself when he rifled his shot on target and all Almunia could do is palm it into the roof of the net.  Was defo one of his better games in an Arsenal shirt from their number 1.

Everytime I go to the gym at the moment, my weight is slowly increasing, altho I’m not sure if it’s all them pies and burgers I’ve been eating, or muscle mass  but John wasn’t too impressed that in the few weeks he’s not been able to train properly he’s lost the best part of half a stone! He’ll be stick thin before he knows it poor lad, but he’ll have Roberto Carlos style thighs and awesome abs.

I’m getting annoyed with the spam filter at work.  It decides to stop emails coming through from Maddsy and accounts when we share the same bloody domain name, but it’s beginning to let loads of spam through that have RE: at the front of the subject header! God damn it.  They ARE NOT replying to me! Problem being the more stricter I have the settings the less proper mail I get through, so it’s almost a no-win situation.

An article on the toon

Not normally one to read massive essays written by journalists, but this one took my eye, with it being about my beloved NUFC, and the more I read it the more I found myself agreeing with what he’s saying.  Martin Samuel has written a few articles that I’ve sat down and actually read.

Forget the quick fix… Shearer’s duty is to build a new Newcastle

There is only one man who can save Newcastle United now: Alan Shearer. Not this season, maybe. Indeed, it appears increasingly unlikely that Newcastle’s fortunes would have changed short term whoever was in charge.

Yet Shearer’s continuance beyond this season grows more vital as Newcastle edge nearer to the fall. No matter what happens now, it is plain that the club need to be completely rebuilt over the summer and Shearer is the only game in town.

He will inherit a ridiculously bloated squad of ineffectual players and an executive out of their depth, yet getting him on board is the closest Mike Ashley, Newcastle’s owner, has come to a credible move all season. And not because Shearer has made a success of the job, either.

Simply, Shearer affords Ashley respect because, in him, Newcastle have a popular manager with a bond to the local community (this relationship is all Newcastle have left right now) and a manner which suggests, given a chance, he has a concept of what the club should be and how they should play.

He is also right for the job because as the last local hero left standing following the departure of Kevin Keegan, if he remains, Ashley will have to leave him to get on with reconstruction unhindered. No executive director, brackets football, no bizarre foreign scouts.

READ THE REST HERE

It’s hardly gonna help the club he loves like us Geordies (Him being one of our own) if he comes in for 8 games, sorts out some of the back room staff, d then fucks off when we’re in the Championship next season, or with us having our Premier League safety.  There is only one man who can get Ashley the sort of time and respect that is gonna be needed during this next important few years.  It’s all about building the team up again from a base, and that base has GOT to be with a manager that the fans and board are gonna stick behind during these tough transitional few seasons coming up.  He’s said he’s not in it for the money, and so once the Villa game is finished it’ll be time for him to show his hand, and show that he meant it when he said he’s in it for his love of the Toon.  Lets face it IF he does leave, who’s gonna want the job (apart from joe Kinnear, who will end up falling ill again next season if things start going wrong)

Bagis Birthday weekend is sorted

So last nights Champions League game between Barcelona and Chelsea was pretty mundane given recent games between the two, and also the last 2 games Chelsea played in this competition against the Scousers.  I think Chelsea will be happy that their bullying tactics on the smaller more technically superior players like Xavi, Messi and Iniesta worked a treat and it disrupted their usual flowing football.  I still think they’ll have enough to go to the Bridge and triumph and hopefully set up a re-run of Arsenal vs Barcelona the other year.  Or maybe Man Utd vs Barcelona is the match the football purists would be purring over.  Specially given the ease on the eye during the inter-changing of positions that will be going on with the likes of Messi, Henry, Rooney and Ronaldo all gracing the same pitch in Rome.  I’m gutted that Chelsea didn’t get beat comprehensivley and that it didn’t piss it down, given two people from WORK were sat in the heavens at the Camp Nou, with one of them being given a special pass for the night

Last night Bagi phoned me and told me that his birthday weekend is now sorted.  6th June we’re heading upto Newcastle for a night out.  So far there is 5 of us, Me, Bagi, Butler, Wayniac and Jim.  We’ve been told we’re lucky to get a hotel/guesthouse given the events going on in the area that weekend.  On the Friday and Saturday night at the Newcastle Metro Radio Arena Girls Aloud are performing! GET IN.  I’m gonna try and sneak my way back stage I reckon    Should be a load of women out after that then hehehe!

Went to the gym last night, and got chatting to Deano about Forest staying up, and how the Kirkby lads would be loving heading upto the toon next season for the weekend to watch the game (I’m writing us off already  ) and he said he really didn’t wanna see us go down.  John showed his face and has quickly gained the nickname, “That stomach and legs man” God damn I’m aching this morning.

Going Down?

Looks that way when we blew our chance to claw some points back after last nights game.  Owen, Viduka and Martins all missing a host of decent chances, with Owen being the main culprit when a rush of blood to the head when one-on-one with David James, he shot tamely against his legs and the ball spun out for a corner, with Martins seemingly ready to pull the trigger, Micky Owen kinda snatched it off his foot :(   The thoughts of the Geordie faithful who gave a rousingatmosphere at the start of the game, grew more and more nervy, and when Pompey hit the post in the dying minutes, the look of almost resignation was etched on some of the faces in the crowd.  Is this Leeds Unitd all over again? Or once the inevitable seemingly happens, and we are relegated, unless we can win 3 of our remaining 4 games, will we be able to go straight back up at the first attempt?  It must be heartbreaking for the frail Sir Bobby Robson, who a few years ago when he was in charge, and getting us into the Champions League, he must never have thought he would see the day his beloved Newcastle are on the brink of relegation :(   Slightly better news is that Forest are now safe in the Championship alongside Derby, and with Leicester playing in the Championship IF/WHEN we go down the boys will be heading to the East Midlands for a few games that I may be able to get decent tickets for :D

I heard this news article on the radio this morning, and was a little shocked!

A 29-STONE mum has told how she gives her eight-month-old triplets McDonald’s junk food.

Leanne Salt, 24, said she is “too busy” to properly feed daughters Deanna and Daisy and son Finlee.

So she lets them eat her takeaway and gives them Wotsits snacks and microwave meals.

A 68-strong team of medics delivered Leanne’s triplets last year, costing the NHS £200,000.

She now dresses them just one day a week when she goes out to collect her dole money.

Jocks Stag Night out

So this weekend was Jocks stag-do and it involved him out on an all-day drinking sesh with some of his close mates, before meeting a few of the football lads that had nothing better to do on a sat night, so thought what the hell and went down Mansfield. They had been out since 11am round Nottingham and then got the train into Mansfield and met us few, albeit about an HOUR AND A HALF LATE! Oh well more on that later I guess.

Well this weekends football results have certainly helped the Toon a little, and its now up to us to go out and do the business against a stingy Pompey side who under Paul Hart seem to have stopped shipping goals, and seem to be boring their way to a draw or nicking a goal for the win.  We really do need the crowd behind the lads tonight.

Friday I  dragged my aching carcass over to Manor to play footy with Teddy and them and went in net, and tried to save a shot, but my wrist seemed to give way  My body is falling to bits I tell you! There was a massive bruise on my shoulder from where I had been hoisting rolls of fabric up onto my shoulder to carry them through into the building and onto the shelves, and it hurt like hell.  After that I just messed about with a few episodes of NCIS and CSI New York on in the background.

As per usual met my mum in Tesco and we then headed into town so I could pay a cheque into the bank and have breakfast.  I’d been given the cheque Thursday afternoon, and with all the running around we were doing Friday it was the first chance I’d had to pay it in.  After breakfast we nipped into the coffee shop, and then I had a quick shower before heading for my haircut.  got abused as per usual by Claire and Laura, altho the pair of them seemed a little subdued and not their usual bubbly selves.  By the time I’d finished in there it was off home to get ready, before heading to the Staff of life for half 6 to meet Brad, Bobby and Gregg.  For some stupid reason tho I was ready with an hour to kill (I HATE waiting around for people or just waiting in general) so I decided to head to McDonalds for something to eat, as I’d been so busy getting ready and having my haircut that I’d not had chance to eat anything since Breakfast

Shearer primed for ‘biggest game’

God knows tonight is prob one of the biggest games at St James’ Park for a long time.   According to the paper yesterday, Shearer has met with “Monday… Tuesday… Habib Beye”, Obafemi Martins and Mark Viduka to tell them they have a huge future in the remainder of the season, and lets hope little Micky Owen decides to put a decent shift in. I’m VERY nervous about tonight’s game

Manager Alan Shearer has conceded that Monday’s home showdown with Portsmouth is one of the biggest games of his Newcastle career.

The Magpies are 19th in the Premier League – four points from safety but with a game in hand on most rivals.

“It’s my biggest game for a long, long time. We all know the stakes, so we need three points. It sounds easy but it won’t be,” said the former striker.

“We all know the importance of it. Now we just need to go out and do it.”

In a 10-year playing career with hometown club Newcastle stretching from 1996 to 2006, Shearer played in two FA Cup finals, a Uefa Cup semi-final and numerous Champions League ties against the likes of Inter Milan and Barcelona.

His fourth game as manager is against a Portsmouth side who sit five places and seven points above them in 14th place and the 38-year-old has targeted the match as the first of three wins he believes the Magpies need to secure their safety.

“I think nine points could just be enough, looking at other teams’ fixtures,” he stated.

“I might be wrong but I’m asking the players to win their three home games, starting with Monday against Portsmouth.”

So far so good this weekend..

Well the football results are starting to roll in at the moment, and after one or two weeks where the results have NOT gone to plan for Newcastle, we’re kind of at the stage where we could do with other teams doing us a favour.

West Brom 3 – 0 Scumderland – Get the hell in!

Hull 1-3 Scousers

Hopefully tomorrow Blackburn will lose to Wigan and Arsenal will steam-roller the Smoggies which means we can close the gap IF we can beat Pompey on Monday night.  It’s no good getting excited and thinking what if, if we can’t even go out and win our own games.  TOON TOON – BLACK AND WHITE ARMY

Small Friday evening update..

Well what a fricking day! Non-stop pretty much all day.  Cloth delivery arriving bout half 9….

By 10 Smash had dropped one of the cartons of cloth on my foot leading to the air turning blue momentarily grrrrrr.  All off the lorry by hand by half 10ish, then up till dinner there was 4 of us moving each roll onto the respective shelf.  Luckily for me I had a shit load of designs and quotes to do, which has taken me the rest of the afternoon.  Everyone has been running round like mad making sure other stuff is done on time, so basically as per usual the cloth delivery or any delivery tends to mean all lads down tools and dig in.  My arms are black from the dust from the lorry and inside the cartons, and my arms are aching and slightly swollen from where I was hoisting a roll of fabric into the air to put it on my shoulder, and it would land on my forearm.  As Mark kindly mentioned… “You wont need to be going to the gym tonight” No shit… the way I’m aching I won’t be needing to go for a week atleast haha!  Best get ready for Friday Football soon.  Jesus I need my head checking

The weekend is almost here!

So last night in between waiting for one of my new fave programs to come on the telly (The Mentalist) I sat online watching the Red Dwarf clips I’d posted yesterday, and then really got the urge to watch some more, so I tooted off to Youtube and watched an episode or two, and it’s still as funny and stupid to me now as it was all them years ago when I used to watch it religiously :D   The Mentalist was another great episode which CarolAnne agreed with :P

Got a text message earlier this morning, telling me not to go to work in my best clothes, as we;ve got a delivery of cloth from China (Think it’s China anyway) And I’m unsure wether Wendy mentioned yesterday that there was 90 ROLLS or 90 CARTONS! with each CARTON normally containing 3 or 4 rolls of material.  Safe to say we’re all gonna be aching like fuck later this afternoon or whenever he decides to pull up (Normally when we get deliveries on Friday’s they tend to be in the afternoon, and on more than one occassion a lorry has rolled up at 5pm with a shit load of Aluminium (We finish at 5:30pm)

Wiggy Taxis it seems may be a hit on saturday night at Jocks Stag-Do.  Already I’ve had Brad offer me a tenner for a lift home, and when I drive into town I’m normally bored by half 1 / 2ish so can give a few people a lift back :D   Lets see if I can’t make a bit of money out of them HAHA!

Somehow I seemed to get stuck in an Alpheinventions traffic cycle yesterday, and I was getting hundreds of hits and I got the best part of about 2000 page views from the traffic site yesterday    Lets see what today brings tho haha!

I’m gonna be hating it this weekend, with the fact that Newcastle dont play till the Pompey home game on MONDAY night, when all the other teams around us will have played again, so we could be god knows how many points behind Scumderland et al :(
