So that was a tiring weekend    Thursday and Friday at work were quite amusing, and I’ll go into that more shortly! I’m absolutely shattered and somewhat gutted bout certain parts of the weekend :(

Anyway, Thursday I think it was Maddsy was on the phone finding loads of different contact points regarding some work that was going off ON his front garden    He had a small BT point for ages, and Stevie had signed something saying she agreed that they could make it a little bigger, but by the time they’d finished it had gone from an A4 black box to a 1.5m x 0.7m box with a concrete slab slapped on the top for good measure! Of course he was getting very stressed out, and having to deal with one painful customer in particular just seemed to almost tip the poor lad over the edge! Me, Smash and a few others found it more and more funny the more he was getting stressed out :D

Friday things didn’t seem to improve for the poor lad, and having the painful customer actually come visit made me laugh to myself! It was then Smash’s turn to sit with the bloke, and we all had vision of quiet old smash picking up a gun, and going mental like Michael Douglas in Falling Down!

Managed to see the rest of the day out, and  got home and changed into my football stuff and made my way down to Manor! The plan was to play football, have a beer or two at home whilst sprting some stuff out at home, and then heading into town to meet John and his mates for his birthday! Didn’t quite work out as planned :| Went to football and had a laugh as usual, but for some reason I think I’ve done some damage to my big toe on my right foot! It seems to hurt when I kick the ball, or when I get caught on the toe.  Wasn’t helped by Graham flying in, and standing on my foot!!  Got home and started tidying the house, before checking my phone and noticing Crit had text me saying it was double xp points weekend on Call of Duty 5, so I joined him for a bit with a few Jagermeister and Red Bulls! Managed to jump up a few levels, but i found myself in bed by bout 12ish, absolutely out on my feet, rather than in town like I’d planned :(

Got up saturday with a rancid taste in my mouth :? , must have been the cheap ass red bull from the local shop, and continued tidying the house whilst on the phone for half an hour to Mr Baguley.  Spent an hour on the xbox chilling out, and then Kirsty arrived complete with her Wii late in the afternoon.  Had much fun on the Wii and the pair of us were getting annoyed at the other for winning, and I’ve realised that I’m shit at baseball    Went to bed and watched a bit of match of the day, before having a restless nights sleep :(

Was up and ready for the cup quarter-final against Team Talbot, altho I had a niggling thought in the back of my mind that if we played like the previous 2 weeks, we’d be on the wrong end of a beating! Nipped to the shop and bumped into Julie, who asked if I was heading over to see Maddsy, as she’d spoken to him, and he seemed a little close to death! I didn’t realise till I arrived with my MacDonalds breakfast just how CLOSE he was to death  He ended up throwing up in the downstairs toilet, as I was stood laughing my head off talking to Stevie, trying my hardest to make him feel worse  I asked him if he thought it was the prawns to blame (I knew it wasn’t when even Jessica turned round to me and said he dad was very very drunk  )  Ended up driving the pickup to football, as Maddsy was looking VERY pasty and on the verge! HAHAHA!

Got to football around 10ish, and Team Talbot were already there! They did look up for it! Had my number 2 shirt back that Brad had been keeping warmf or me these last 2 games ;)   Was a good game to play in, and we battled, even tho it was fucking freezing, and kept trying its hardest to snow!  Gutted to go out on penalties, and I was 6th inline to take one!!

Mr Bradshaws Match Report….

Lost 4-5 on penalties.

A great cup-tie but unfortunatly our involvement in the Mansfield Junior cup ends here.

After poor performances in the last two games everyone stood up today when it counted and gave their all.

Wiggy was drafted back into the starting eleven in place of Brad, but otherwise it was the same team that started the previous weeks game.

The game started and RandK got a foothold on the possession early on, Bud was booked as a case of mis-taken identity for dissent. We were creating chances and passing the ball around really well, the only downside were that our shots were not hitting the target with Bud the main culprit firing over from 12 yards out.

Team Talbot were trying to get into the game and Rob made some good saves to keep the scores level.

Half-time 0-0

We took our foot off the pedal in the early stages of the second half and Talbot were pushing us deep into our own half, however we defending brilliant at times and everyone was going in strong and winning the ball, with Moorey playing his best game for the club today.

Team Talbot took an unexpected lead on the 75th minute mark when poor defending for the first time in the match lead to Talbot breaking the deadlock.

We did not let the goal affect us and we were pushing Talbot for the equaliser, when good play by Jock resulted in a Talbot defender handling inside the box, Bud smashed in the rebound after his initial penalty was well saved.

Full-time 1-1

Extra-time started and to be honest was a pretty even affair with both teams having chances to win the game, firstly Talbot headed over when hitting the target seemed easier, then Bud and Winty were denied by good saves from the away Goalie before Rob had to turn a shot round the post in the dying minutes.

A.E.T 1-1

Penalties began and it was Jock taking the first one to give RandK the slight advantage, however each team dispatched their kicks until RandK’s fourth peno, where Scotty’s effort was palmed away, Rob twice got hands to the Talbots’ penalties but could not stop the ball from reaching the back of the net. Talbot went on to score all 5 of their kicks to RandK’s 4.

Penalties 4-5.

Jock Scored

Sami Scored

Winty Scored

Scotty Missed

Bud Scored

Today we showed we can mix it with the best of the teams in this competition, Team Talbot are flying high in Division Four and are a very strong team.

Our cup run has seen us beat higher league opposition in Fox and Crown (Div 5) and Ritz Rangers (Div 4) before eventually losing out on penalties against todays division four opponents.

We need to take the positives out of todays game and push on in the league to see how far we can take this club this season, we are playing the top 2 in the league in the next three weeks and nothing short of six points is needed if we are to stand a chance of finishing in the promotion places this season.

MOM – Moorey, a great all-action display today, he rolled back the years and won everything he challenged for. Well done pal

Goal summary:

89 min – Richard Waring (6/10)
Richard Waring converted the rebound after his spot-kick was well saved. Stephen Kerr was instrumental in the move leading up to the spot kick.

It’s always gutting to go out on penalties, knowing that it could quite easily have been us in the semi-final, and on another day Winty and Bud could have scored 3 goals each, and we could have won handsomely, but it wasnt to be, and we can’t be too disheartened, after last season when we lost 5-1 and 4-1 against the same team!  I was absolutely knackered at the end, and seemed to hurt the back of my knee turning during the game around the 70 minute mark, but battled on for the team  Either that or Maddsy decided it was better to keep an injured WIggy out there, than throw a fully fit (I use the term loosely) Bradshaw!! HAHA!

Got home and watched the 2nd half of the Newcastle vs Village of the Damned game, having listened to some of the first half on Radio 5 live on the way home from football, and I was pleased with the fight we showed in the 2nd half, and yeah granted it was a generous penalty, but given that Micah Richards wrestled Steven Taylor to the ground at Eastlands and we got fuck all for it (Micah admitted to Taylor afterwards that he thought it was a penalty!!) I’m happy that we’ve had a bit of luck for once!  Spent the rest of the afternoon messing about on COD 5 as well as watching Good Luck Chuck which I’d bought on DVD Saturday night, along with Drillbit Taylor.  Went to bed about half 7 after a nice long bath hoping to catch some ZZZ’s with my alarm set for 11pm with the intention of having a nice nap to feel a better enough to watch the SuperBowl, but that didn’t work, and I was STILL Awake when the program started on the BBC @ 11pm! :( Managed to stay awake for most of the first half, but then conceded defeat and had to turn the telly off! Altho I still didn’t manage to get a decent nights sleep again :( I’m feeling it now thats for sure
