More on the title of the blog later, and a picture if I remember to upload it

It’s been a mixed bag since Iast updated on Wednesday/Thursday.  Including Work Christmas Meal, quite a bit of gym work, playing football and winning 11-2, and watching the whole of Season 1 of Prison Break over 2 days haha! – *Photos to follow soon honest!

So Thursday afternoon sorted some stuff out at work, whilst Maddsy was attending Jessica’s Christmas Play thingy, and then once he got back, he sent me home to get my stuff.  Got everything ready then walked to the end of my street, where he came and picked me up, so I could get ready at his house and share a taxi with them pair.  Got ready in record time, despite the fact Kieran wouldn’t leave me alone for 5 minutes! Even when I nipped in the shower he was banging on the bathroom door shouting me (And Stevie was oblivious to all this as she was getting ready, about 10 yards away in her room :?   Once I was ready I was told that Crit had changed his mind at the last moment, and decided he wanted to tag along  So I jumped into works wagon and headed off to pick him up.  By the time everyone was ready the Taxi driver had just pulled up outside Maddsys house.  It’s never ideal when you jump in a taxi and the driver asks if you know how to get there :? But he did anyway, and so we managed to blag a few left turns from Shirebrook and got there ok

Wasn’t long after we got there till we were ushered over into the back room for our meal.  I started with the soup, and it looked a little like wallpaper paste :? And didn’t have much taste to it either!!  Then out came the main course, and as per usual I plumped for the biggest steak they had with chips mmm! Was quite nice compared to the starter.  Maddsy was being rude as per usual, and I can’t say I was shocked in the slightest.  Crit ordered the fish and chips, and they came out with a baby whale on his plate!  It was fucking massive  The Sticky toffee pudding afterwards was quite nice too! Maddsy was gutted as what he ordered they’d run out of, and then his 2nd choice they’d just sold out of  He decided it was safer not to have anything in the end.  Headed for the pool table, and had a bit of a battle going on! Maddsy managed to fluke a victory against Crit, only to come up short against yours truly! Who in turn lost to Crit, and only just beat Stevie after we both ended up on the Black, and she went and potted both! Phew *wipes sweat off his brow*

Taxi picked us up bout 11:10 and the 4 of us headed into town with the remainder of the beer money fund hehe! Waited in Wetherspoons for Al and Lyndsey to catch up with us, and I ended up necking 2 Jagermeister and Red Bulls trying to calm my toothache.  It’s a pain trying to eat Steak with one side of your mouth thats for sure    From there we headed to Liquid.  Had a good dance round Liquid and saw Pete in the DJ booth again, and bumped into a few folks like Matty Lee, Widdo and also Sami, who claims she’s gonna post me my 2 dvd’s soon! She’s only had them about 6 months, but hey, if I get them before Christmas, it’ll be shorter than when my sister borrows them    Left Liquid bout 2ish, after being mentally scared by some of the antics due to the pool party! Seeing 4 men in thongs, and then having their thongs ripped off, is a painful memory!

Didnt sleep too good Thursday night, even tho I was shattered and everything, and had taken a few pain killers for my tooth.  Luckily for me I hadn’t drunk too much.  Nipped into work to pick up my stuff from Maddsy before deciding he looked rough enough to warrant a little sympathy, so I went and fetched him an all day breakfast cob from the bakers on the industrial estate.  After that I chilled out for a bit watching dvd’s until I got a text off John saying he was on his way home, and he’d meet me at the gym.  Was quite busy to say it was about 4ish on a friday afternoon, but the majority of people in there were kids for some reason, altho some more lads came in, and the woman who normally has a go at us for not putting the weights back asked if we were going out that night by any chance    She said she knows our type, who spent Friday nights in the mirror posing before getting ready to go out    Nipped home to see my mum and dad, but my mum was away on her works Christmas Meal, and so I didn’t stay too long as I was in pain with my tooth/gum anyway :(   Got home and watched a few films and that before trying to head to bed to sleep.  Didn’t really sleep well at all, and found myself jumping in the car around 5am and heading to ASDA in the hope the late night Pharmacy could help me in my quest for a few hours sleep!  Bought some gel which numbed both my tooth and tongue, and I managed to sleep through from bout half 5 till 11ish which was enough I suppose.

Saturday was Tibbzy’s birthday, but I’d dosed up on that many pain killers and everything that I rattled when I walked up the stairs, so from once I got up I felt in the mood to watch some Prison Break from the beginning! That then lead to me not moving other than to sort a little bit of food out and a drink, until I noticed it waas 10 at night! I’d watched the best part of 16 straight episodes    I had no idea of the football results from the day, so it was quite fun watching the highlights not wondering what the final score was! Made even more enjoyable by seeing Jamie Carragher score ANOTHER own goal! Anyone think him and Richard Dunne at Man City have a bet going on who can get the most OG’s in one season? Anyone who played for Rainworth Colts Under 13′s with me will know they’ve both got a long way to go before bettering my account  Baring in mind we used to concede about 15 goals a game average 10 OG’s aint a bad return    Slept better saturday night, but kept waking up with the odd bit of pain, before managing to get to sleep again.

Woke up about half 9 sunday morning, and got ready for football.  Maddsy had text me saying he had man flu, and wasn’t gonna be able to go and watch us play.  As we were on Manor I had a quick wander around ASDA picking up one or two bits, before heading off to meet the football lads.  We didn’t kick off till bout 20 past 11, as the ref was taking part in his first mens game or something, and he didn’t think the pitch was playable.  We went 1-0 down in the first few minutes, but seemed to get our heads on the game quick enough, and we were 6-1 up at half time.  Their player gave away a penalty, which Jock missed, and I feel the ref thought about sending their player off, but Jock and Winty told him that we were 4 or 5 up at the time, and there was no need to send him off for the tackle, so it stayed 11 vs 11 which is always good.  Their heads seemed to drop once we’d got 2 or 3 goals clear, and there was only ever gonna be one winner.

Brads match report…

Our biggest win of the season stretched our unbeaten run to 6 games.

We had an early scare that the game would not go ahead but we changed pitches on the Manor Complex and it was eventually allowed to play.

Changes needed to be made this week as Nick and Scotty were both away. Bud moved upfront with Brad starting in centre midfield and Craig on the right hand-side.

We started shakely and Jewels 08 took an early lead as Craig allowed his man to get by him an head home from close range. This seemed to buck our ideas up and Jock assisted out first 2 goals to put our noses infront. Bud then added a third before we were awarded a penalty, dispite Bud wanting to seal his hat-trick early on, Jock stepped up, but was denied by a great save.

This did not affect us and Winty scored a quick-fire double to claim his first hat-trick for the club. Just before half-time Bud got his trick thanks to a fine pass from Sami.

Half-time 6-1.

It was mentioned at half-time that we do not take our foot of the gas and that the subs will be coming on early.

However Jewels 08 seemed to have started the second half the stronger with Rob making some crucial interceptions and saves.

We again woke up and 3 players scored their first goals for the club, firstly Smithy headed a corner in the back of the net, something he has been promising to do since pre-season, Craig got in on the act and Bobby scored his first goal in 6 years. Yes it was’nt a mis-print Bobby did actually score!! Although the ball went in off his back, he won’t mind that at all.

In between all of this Sami continued his excellent spell infront of goal with another brace to add to his growing tally from midfield. Fisher also hit the bar with a good header. We also had 2 goals disallowed in our attacking display today.

Rob made the save of the match towards the end tipping a shot destined for the top corner round the post, but he was beaten again with one of the last touches of the game.

Today showed that we are a team and have good squad depth, if you think of the players set to return, Moorey, Nick and Scotty it is frightening as too what we can achieve this season as long as we keep our feet on the ground.

Jewels 08 showed good spells today and hopefully they can start to grind some results out as they are a good bunch of lads.

MOM – Wiggy, chosen by Col. Although we had several players getting on the scoresheet today, Wiggy did not put a foot wrong all game and made some great passes. Well done pal.

87 min – Own Goal (4/10)
A scrappy finish with the Back, a corner was floated in and headed back across goal by Matt Smith, a defender then kicked the ball into the back of his own net in disgust! Hitting Bobby who was stood over the line, but is claiming it anyway! The cheek of some people!!

After the game I headed over to my mum and dads for dinner, and found a text message when I checked my phone, saying The Cockles game had been cancelled, and did I fancy heading over to the gym with John for a steady session on the weights or something, so once I’d had my dinner and a shower I told him I’d be there about half 3 and met him there.  Had a nice easy session on the chest, and John laughed at my scar :( We went on this machine, where you key in D.O.B. Height, build, gender and then stand on the 4 metal contacts, and it works out your BFI! Last time I checked on a machine at McArthur Glen early last year mine was about 18%, and John said last time he checked his was 15% I’m thinking the machine must be broken then, cos John came in at about 12.8% Body Fat, and I came in at a whopping 8.8% Which as a shocked John said… “You must be ripped to fuck then Wiggy” He was visibly wounded    Watched the rest of Season 1 of Prison Break once I got in, and then watched the highlights of the Newcastle match on MOTD2! Good 3-0 win away from home at Pompey, which I’ve always thought of as a bit of a bogey ground for us! Slept pretty well, altho woke up Monday morning with the beginning of an abcess, and so I’ve managed to book myself in at the Dentist for 3pm on Tuesday :)
