My mum has told me a story that has made me and my dad chuckle to ourselves.  According to the source of this story it happened about 2 weeks ago, but was only told to my mum a few days ago.  Here goes…  Our stef and Malc were out in the van on one Bin Cleaning route, and I think it was in Daybrook or something, and Our stef of all people decided that this youth looked a bit dodgy, with his hoody on and a scarf over his face.  Anyway our Stef claims that he was watching him in the wing mirror of the van, and saw him snatch some girls bag, so our stef being the hero that he is decided to give chase, along with our Malc, as this woman was quite upset due to her work takings being in the bag or something! Typically the 2 have a go heroes left the van with the keys and their own takings in. My mum was saying, “but what if there was a gang of them waiting or he had a knife” with out wanting to sound harsh… he’s been there before dont forget when he gave us all a nice scare 2 years ago!  I think the thing that made me chuckle most was the “He looked right dodgy mum, with his hoody on and that” when he dresses the same way

Anyway Thursday night was amusing.  I was sat watching the Portsmouth vs AC Milan game, and to be fair to Pompey they were playing some good football, but I always thought in the back of my mind that even at 2-0, with the players AC had the result was far from safe.  I think it was the cries of “Are you Bournemouth in desguise” that made Ancelloti decide to throw on Ronaldinho and Pato  Within a few minutes Ronaldinho had curled an awesome free-kick into the top corner, and then it was back to the walls for Pompey, and their hearts were broken by a poachers finish from one of the best goal poachers of his generation Inzaghi.

Friday at work was boring as Maddsy had the day off, and I was waiting till bout 4ish when I was gonna bugger off home and get ready for a night on the town with the footy lads. Low and behold, come 4 someone had rung up and wanted a design & quote emailing to him before close of play Friday    Got home bout 5ish and that gave me an hour before Maddsys bro-in-law Paul was to come and pick me up.  Ended up ready well before that, and so was pacing around the house waiting (And I hate waiting!!!) Once Paul was ready we met the lads in Wetherspoons in Sutton and then after a few me, Maddsy, Jock and Paul jumped into Wintys car as he had to drop it off at his Missus’ house.  Had a walk into town, and from then on I knew what sort of night we were gonna have  Maddsy began with his usual referrence to the size of Winty’s knob, which became the topic of conversation between him and Jacqui during the night! Met up with the rest of the lads in Yates’ and 3 Kangaroo’s in about half an hour were the beginning of the end.  Over the way in Romans, we all decided to have a “Who’;s got the hardest punch from R&K” competition, and I think Bagi won, with Smithy a close second! I beat Maddsy who then claimed I was on steroids  Everyone loves a sore loser Maddsy ;)   The rest of the night is a bit of a blur, and I remember chatting to John and Caz for a bit, and texting Kirsty before I decided I was a) too drunk and b) too tired so headed home!

Spent all day Saturday curled up in bed with a very very bad stomach! I tried to have a few glasses of water to help me, but that ended up coming back up not long after    Couldn’t stomach any food either until I ordered a Dominos Pizza around 5ish and I then went to bed and found myself watching a DVD before trying to fall asleep.  But the usual fact that I’d spent all day in bed, meant I was having poor luck in getting to sleep, so ended up watching Match of the Day

Got up Sunday ready for the Cup game against Fox and Crown who we were told were doing well in the league above, and after warming up, just before Kick-off, Brad gotthe defence and Jock together for some reason to tell us both their attackers were good quick players etc! Nothing like installing confidence in your defence before a game  Bobby got the game underway, and they almost scored, before the proper ref decided to turn up, and so we started all over again   The whole team played well, and we deserved our 2-0 win, limiting them to very few chances to be fair :D

Brads match report…

Our long awaited 2nd round cup match ended in victory and stretched our unbeaten run to 5 games.

With Moorey injured Sami got the nod to wear the number 8 shirt, in our only change from the previous weeks draw at Kings Arms B.

With a no show of the ref at kick-off, Bobby stepped forward to ref the game, however 5 minutes in the ref decided to turn up and the game was restarted from scratch.

Fox and Crown are a very strong team and are comfortable on the ball and it showed in the early stages, we did’nt help things by playing to direct and straight down the middle, this was not working for us today and The Fox had most of the posession. However our defence today was brilliant with nothing getting by them and when it did Rob was on hand to mop everything up. Robs only real save of the first half was to tip an header over the bar and clear a few backpasses.

We came to life with 10 minutes of the half remaining, first Scotty was put through, but found his effort go the wrong side of the post, then Scotty turned provider with a great ball to Winty who finished past the oncoming goalie.

Half-time 1-0.

Wila who picked an injury up in the dying stages of the first half was replaced by Brad, to try and strenghten an already solid defence.

The second half was more of an even affair with end to end stuff, with The Fox coming closest in the early stages with their striker firing straight at Rob with only the goalie to beat.

Sami had a long range effort drop just wide, sparing the away goalies blushes.

Winty had a well hit shot palmed out by the goalie with Brad failing to knock in the rebound. But we did get that all crucial second goal with less than 10 minutes left, a good ball from Winty found Sami on the edge of the box, who continued his good form infront of goal with a low shot under the keeper.

Fox and Crown came at us in the last stages of the game but we defended excellently as a team today and preserved another clean sheet.

Fox and Crown are a very good team and it is credit to us that although not at our footballing best we dug deep and everyone gave 100%.

MOM – Nick – chosen by Col, a great performance again, he flew into every challenge and never backed down. A near perfect display. Well done pal.

Goal summary:

41 min – Chris Wint (8/10)
A well delivered through-ball from Scott Hart was converted by Chris Wint. A first-class finish with the right foot from 18 yards out.

82 min – Sam Whyman (7/10)
A well delivered cross from Chris Wint was converted by Sam Whyman. A fine finish with the right foot from long range.

From football I went over to my mums and had some dinner and got chatting to them about this and that, before heading home for a nice relaxing bath.

Woke up Monday morning feeling very Yukky with a sore throat and blocked nose, and it’s been the same pretty much all week.  So this week I’ve very little to report, as all I’ve done when I’ve got home from work is watch a few dvds.  Altho Tuesday night I had a One Tree Hill catch up night, in which I managed to watch 7 of the 8 episodes I was out-of-date with    Wednesday night I was gonna go and see Kirsty in her new home, but felt really terrible, and had to call it off, only to get texts from both her and Jay calling me rubbish and everything  Next time I’ll beround promise :)   Everyone that seems to have had this illness claims they’ve not been able to shake it off for 3 weeks! Jesus that runs right up till Chirstmas (which has still been cancelled in my house!)

Having not been in the mood to go on msn as much the last few weeks, It meant I hadn’t spoken to my mate Bex from Chelsea for a while.  Last time we spoke I was getting excited cos I was going to watch Newcastle down at the Bridge (with her being a Chelsea fan we’re always abusing each other about it) And these last few days we’ve been chatting again, and she was gutted about the result against the Toon :p

This weekend we’ve got Ritz Rangers in the last 16 of the Mansfield Sunday League Minor Cup! Coming up against Cookie again.  They did the double over us last season (As did everyone else apart from the Red  ) and so revenge is on the cards :P   Thats all for now, apart from this little Gem….

JOE: Okay, let me introduce everybody to everybody. But once again, at the risk of being redundant, if I even think I hear somebody telling or referring to somebody by their Christian name… you won’t want to be you. Okay, quickly. Mr. Brown, Mr. White, Mr. Blonde, Mr. Blue, Mr. Orange, and Mr. Pink.

MR. PINK: Why am I Mr. Pink?

JOE: Cause you’re a faggot.

MR. PINK: Why can’t we pick out our own colors?

JOE: I tried that once, it don’t work. You get four guys fighting over who’s gonna be Mr. Black. Since nobody knows anybody else, nobody wants to back down. So forget it, I pick. Be thankful you’re not Mr. Yellow.

MR. BROWN: Yeah, but Mr. Brown? That’s too close to Mr. Shit.

MR. PINK: Yeah, Mr. Pink sounds like Mr. Pussy. Tell you what, let me be Mr. Purple. That sounds good to me, I’m Mr. Purple.

JOE: You’re not Mr. Purple, somebody from another job’s Mr. Purple. You’re Mr. Pink.

MR. WHITE: Who cares what your name is? Who cares if you’re Mr. Pink, Mr. Purple, Mr. Pussy, Mr. Piss…

MR. PINK: Oh that’s really easy for you to say, you’re Mr. White. You gotta cool-sounding name. So tell me, Mr. White, if you think “Mr. Pink” is no big deal, you wanna trade?

JOE: Nobody’s trading with anybody! Look, this ain’t a goddamn fuckin city counsel meeting! Listen up Mr. Pink. We got two ways here, my way or the highway. And you can go down either of ‘em. So what’s it gonna be, Mr. Pink?

MR. PINK: Jesus Christ, Joe. Fuckin forget it. This is beneath me. I’m Mr. Pink, let’s move on.

so according to Mr Pink I have a cool-sounding name  That gives you a clue as to the movie I watched last night before I actually sat down and watched The Fifth Element properly for the first time :D
