Friday was a long day if i’m honest. I was already really tired, and the lack of sleep lately meant that Friday afternoon dragged like hell, as Maddsy decided to put half a day in, so there was only 3 or 4 of us left in the building by 5 when I decided I’d had enough, and buggered off home, quickly followed by Crit. Got home and got ready to head over to Manor to play football with some of the lads. I think I’m gonna give it a break for a week or two, as I seem to be carrying an injury, and one or two players seem to take it a bit too seriously, and I’m so tempted to go flying in for a few tackles, which will only end up hurting other players. From football I went over to my mothers for a bit, as I normally head over on a Saturday or meet her in town for breakfast, and I also wanted to ask her bout the possibility of an early Christmas present
got home and chilled out for an hour or two before heading to bed.
Another restless nights sleep
and then my alarm went off so I got ready to head over to Marks for 10, so we can head off to London. The engine management message started flashing up on the screen of the Land Rover so we went from Junction 27 up to Junction 28 to meet Maddsy with the Warrior, and then made our way down. Was a decent enough drive down, and we were only 15 minutes later than Mark had envisaged us being there. Parked up, and Mark headed into the pub, whilst I was in charge of filling the parking meter up. Little did I know that it was £2.40 an hour, so once i’d deposited £4 something we only had enough time to take us till kick-off
Stayed and had another Corona or two, and decided against having any food, and we’d wait to have a pie at the ground.
Had to call into the box office, as Mark tried to pick up his Bordeaux tickets for the Champions League, and came away rather pissed off, as they wanted all his traveling arrangements, which he didn’t have, so no tickets. Was a mass queue to get into the ground, due to the card scanning system which has become more popular at Stadiums around the country, as opposed to the traditional tickets at the turnstile for Season Ticket Holders and also fans with regular match tickets.
The game was pretty much 90% Chelsea possession, but with very few chances being created, and the Toon fans celebrated the 0-0 as if we’d won the game. The Chelsea fans in the end we were sat in, kept singing songs in honour of Dennis Wise *spits on the ground* And also they were loving it singing “Gianfranco Zola is taking West Ham down” It was mind numbing tho once the game got to about the 60th something minute when they started the most boring chant ever! “Chelsea.. Chelsea.. Chelsea.. Chelsea…” (Think you get the picture) This lasted pretty much 20 minutes, and I was just sat/stood as and when with a big smirk on my face listening to the Chelsea fans going on about such and such being a “facking cant” Gotta love the cockney geezers
When we first got into toe ground, I walked past someone to get into the row where Mark sat, and on the end was the one and only Phil Daniels, of Quadrophenia fame, and, as Mark referred to him as, the dead Eastender
For the half the game I kept singing “Parklife” by Blur in my head HAHA! Bet he gets that everywhere he goes. At half time Mark threw me a fiver and told me I was in charge of fetching the Pies. Got back just as the teams were ready to kick off the second half, and the bloke next to Mark asked if I’d made the bloody things! Cheeky sod.
The infamous Shed End… View from the seats… End of the game.
Left the ground and headed for the Warrior, and fuck me it was freezing. All the way home we were listening to the Aston Villa vs Man Utd game, and both praying for a Villa win, mainly cos I’d love to see them break into the Top 4, but Marks was purely for a hatred of Man Utd and being a Chelsea Boy
Got back about 8pm, and headed over to my mums. Had a massive headache from being tired, and that, and so took some Paracetemol, and had a bite to eat, whilst picking up my early christmas present. Had a quick blast on the Solo campaign on COD World at war, and then headed to bed. Even tho I was shattered, I ended up not sleeping till gone 1, and watched Match of the Day and then some of Rush Hour 3 on dvd.
I was wide awake at 8 Sunday morning, and no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn’t get back to sleep
Opened the curtains to find that there was a splattering of snow, If you can call it that, as I think you can tell from the photo below that I took. Decided as I was awake I may as well make the most of it, and went on the XBOX for an hour or so. Set up the pimpest little bloke on my XBOX live thing, will try and get a pic of him looking all dapper, and managed to get a bit further into the game. Loving it already, and can see me getting more and more into it the longer I get into the game
Nipped to MacDonalds for some breakfast and then headed over to Oak Tree. Had a chat with one or two of the Cockle lads, who were at home on the other pitch. The pitch was a mess, and had tractor lines through the middle of it, which had frozen and been covered in a thin layer of snow. The ref agreed the pitch was playable, but the more the game went on the worse it got. There were massive puddles, and running with the ball was a nightmare. We tried to play football, as did Kings Arms B to their credit, and it ended up with a 2-2 draw.
Brads match report
We lost our winning streak but continued with our unbeaten run.
The conditions was’nt the best for a game of footie, but the game was quite rightly allowed to begin.
In our only change from the previous week, Willa came in for the AWOL Sami, who stayed up up watch the Hatton fight and forgot to set his alarm for footie.
The first half was not good for RandK with the Kings Arms bossing most if not all of the first half. We fell behind by a counter-attack that caught us napping and the oppositions stiker finish a one-one. This seemed to spark us into life for a brief 10 minutes and Winty finish well to equalise.
However right on the stroke of half-time Kings Arms got their noses in front again, a corner was not clear properly and the ball went past everyone before a Kings arms player was allowed time to turn and finish from 8 yards.
Half-time 1-2
I told the boys at half-time they were letting themselves down with their performance and all the previous weeks hard work was being undone.
This seemed to get the players’ head on the game and shortly after the restart a cracking effort by Nick flew straight into the top corner. 2-2.
We were now bossing the game but the ball would not go in the back of the net, Bud had a penalty shout brushed away and a goal disallowed, Winty hit the bar with a great headed effort, Fisher had a shot that seemed destined to nestle in the top corner brilliantly turned away and we also had a shot cleared off the line.
But it was not meant to be and the game ended all square.
Kings Arms B are a very good side and will turn a few heads this season, we should take credit from our attacking display in the second half and on another day we may have found the net a further 2 or 3 times. But our unbeaten run continues.
No league game now for at least 3 weeks, so lets have a break from the league and try and progress in the Mansfield Cup, starting with Fox and Crown next week.
MOM – Greg, as chosen by Brad. A great display when called upon to defend today with his no-nonesense defending. Well played mate.
Goal summary:
20 min – Chris Wint (8/10)
A well delivered through-ball from Ian Moore was converted by Chris Wint. A first-class finish with the right foot from long range.52 min – Nick Jones (9/10)
Stephen Kerr supplied the through-ball, and Nick Jones found the net from outside the area with a spectacular right footed effort.
The slight splattering of snow we had Sat night.
A close up of poor old Smithy… Smithy Looking a little worse for wear Sunday Morning…
Went round to my mum and dads for my dinner, and we had some Sticky Toffee pudding for dessert. For some reason my mum told me not to mention it to my sister, who was hoping to have some, which then lead me to taking a photo of it and sending it her
Watched the Spurs vs Blackburn game, before heading home to chill out with the Sunderland vs West Ham game. Could have done with both games finishing as a draw to help the Toon after the point we’d gained this weekend after writing it off as a comprehensive Chelsea victory beforehand. Spent the rest of my sunday chilling out on COD World at War and on facebook. Didn’t even bother signing into msn.
Just for my sister mmmm was lovely

I’m so jealous. We don’t get decent live football on our doorsteps here. Although that will all change in 2010, obviously.
Actually, I lie. When I play, it’s decent live football.
Yeah when you have the world best players pretty much on your doorstep down there in Africa mate. I really wanna head upto St James’ Park again sometime soon
