So sonce the last update here on w1ggy.co.uk, I’ve been a little busy. Friday night was football as per usual, and there was only about 10 turn up and it was a laugh alright. Got home with the plan of having an early night, rwady for my early start Saturday morning, but that never materialised
3am and I was still watching some crap on telly, thinking “2 and a half hours and I’ve gotta get up and head to Middleton” Thats the last thing i remember, before Galaxy 105 started playing. Got to work, and sorted everything out I needed, and then was on my way towards Middleton up near Manchester. Gotta love driving up the motorway at that time of day. The roads are pretty much clear of any traffic so it was an easy enough drive up to the Pennines anyway! Then it was so foggy in parts you found yourself driving bout 10 mph Cos you know that there is gonna be a really tight twisty bend coming up! Managed to get roughly near by bout 8ish, which was bang on schedule, and once the bloke from the council had come and opened the barrier for us we set about setting up the marquee, and once that was up, Jonathon and his crew of fit ladies did their best.
Left there bout 9ish, and was making hast along the Pennines, when I got a phone call.
Turns out one of the tables they hired was too big to do anything, and they wondered if I could turn round and go and pick it up! Hmm dilema time. Do I say No and face the wrath of Mark and Maddsy on the monday morning, or do I try my hardest to turn round and go and pick it up
I went with the latter option, and told sat nav to take me back there. I frowned just a little when it told me to take a left, but stuck with it. The problem came when it lost signal, and I was at a junction, so I went into homing pigeon mode in the heart of lion territory (Readers from a while ago will understand
) Anyway it took me an hour and a half to get back to them, and then I stealthed the table back into the van, and set off on my way home. Got back to Mansfield for bout 12:45, just in time for the Bindippers vs Manc Scum game. Had a bite to eat, and generally freshened up, as I felt like death, and then come 2pm I was back on the road again out to go and pick the marquee back up. Silly I know. People have said I should have stayed up there, but what was I gonna do ALL DAY in Middleton, with NO MONEY! Got home bout 7ish, and then spent the night chatting away to Kirsty for a bit.

The detour I took saturday morning
Got up sunday morning, and John was playing at home for Cockle FC, so headed over to Macdonalds for some breakfast, and then over to Oak Tree to watch them play Huthwaite Old Boys. Was good to see Moloney and Massey, with whom I remember playing for Titchfield and Potters MANY MANY years ago, and Moloney now plays CB alongside Pretty Boy. Was a game they should have won really, and the ref even said that to me at half time. They should have been a few goals up, before the nippy forward lost Moloney, and despite John trying to track back, he smashed a left foot volley into the top near corner! Awesome finish tbf. Second half started, and more or less 5 minutes in it was 1-1 when Woody finished from the edge of the 6 yard box after good wing play by whoever it was
Altho straight from the kick off, the cb’s went wandering, and the bloke ran onto a through ball, and chipped it over the advancing goalkeeper. Another goal was to follow, and it just looked like being an off day for Cockle.
From football I headed over to the parents for some dinner, and yet again my mother didn’t dissapoint
Lovely sunday lunch as per usual, and I just chilled out for a bit watching the Italian Grand Prix with my father, when my mother appeared with some Sticky Toffee pudding!! Jesus that went down a treat. Poor tired and full, I headed back home for a nice relaxing bath before sitting in front of the telly, watching Sky’s triple header of NFL
Work was ok Monday, if not a little manic, with me and Maddsy sorting Fridays meeting with Eventure, and making sure we knew what we were doing and that, and I set about going through the list of free blogs that Neil at Eventure had emailed over to me to get cracking on. Straight from work to the gym, where a rather worn looking John turned up a little later than he said, and we had a good session on the shoulders, which seems to have knackered my right arm up a little, but a bit more on that later. The rest of the week at work has mainly been quite busy with the pair of us sorting loads of stuff out, whilst poor Crit has been literally to hell and back in the Renault van at work
Henley AND stevenage in the space of a few days
Nipped round to my mum and dads (if only for some food) on Tuesday night, and then went to the gym from there. Seemed odd doing a later shift, but the gym was pretty much empty, so we rattled through a quick shoulder session, which seemed to hurt my right arm a little more, to which I got shouted at by Kirsty when I spoke to her on msn,
Wednesday was back night and this is where I seem to have really damaged myself
Since Thursday morning I’ve had a really sore back down either shoulder blade, and a sore right arm! Thank god I’m not due in at the gym till Monday! Plenty of time to recover
Last night I took my PS2 round to my mum and dads for our Lewi, so he’s got something to keep him entertained when he’s sat in his house with nothing to do.
Spoke with Ally the other night for the first time in a while, and we mentioned we keep checking each othwers blogs out, and so I directed her in the path of blogexplosion to try and drum up a few more visits
We had a bit of a grumble in our short chats about this and that, and I mentioned that I seemed to get really wound up regarding the LHC Physics experiment thats currently underway deep underground on the Swiss/French border. I’ve done a bit of reading on the subject, but think all this hystria surrounding the world going to end on the day they turned the magnets on was a little far fetched. Hell the Sun were even intervieing a couple who claimed to have sex at the exact time they turned the magnets on, cos they thought the world would end. surely if anything that will be in October, when they begin to fire the particles, and begin to smash them together
I’m not a scientist, and have only read little bits, and I’m beginning to ramble on about something I know little about, so from here I’m out!
