And we keep plodding on…

… through the current bout of drama

I was pointed to a mates blog yesterday afternoon, being told there was alsorts of dramas kicking off in the comments section, after something he posted! So me being me, I couldnt leave it at that, so with my freshly charged spammers-hat, I trundled over to his blog, and had a real good laugh *hi5*

Work is slowing down a bit, so I am finding myself being given roles I thought were beneath me now  Since when did I go from where I am now, back into data-entry mode? It sucks tbh, but gives me something to do i suppose ha ha. Yesterday Maddsy had a brain-storm (dont get them very often) and decided to search ebay for a new car. He aint got a clue what he wants so his brain-storm was to search for “Black” That still didnt help him much lol. There must be a small glimmer of hope out there for him yet!!

Monday was pretty slow too, and i got told to “stop being stupid” for suggesting something! They wanted an advert doing, so given the VERY BASIC instructions I did what they wanted, but as per usual this wasn’t right (just like in the old days, when we’d spend a whole week trying to get a simple advert right for John), And so I suggested to Maddsy that he do it, as he was throwing ideas around and that. Turns out it wasn’t such a bad idea, as I didnt hear him properly, so shouted him over, and he ended up doing the whole thing himself, under my supervision (Bit like letting the kids play near a road or something! DO NOT TAKE YOUR EYES OFF OR THINGS WILL GET BROKEN)

Monday night, Maddsy sent me a txt asking if I could call round with his car battery charger cos his dad needed it, so got in the car and it drove fine all the way there, so I decided to nip and see my mum and dad too. Again was fine all the way there. Left there on my way home, and John asked if I was going to the gym, so said yeah just gotta nip home and get changed…. once I got near fee’s house, It wouldnt let me change gear, so i ended up driving in third through where fee lives and down past the ravensdale pub where I knew I was less likely to need to stop and that!!

Monday night I ended up watching the crap that was Derby vs Newcastle.. I mean HOW THE FUCK DID WE LOSE TO THEM!!!! :@ Also watched Celtic last night, and I’ve never seen them play so crap in the opening half, and they were 2 down after 8 minutes  Could have been 6 or 7 but for their goalkeeper
Last night was spent chilling, with a little tidying of the house and things! Had a good chat with Mohammed Bahrainy (can i use this name fee? ) on msn, along with a conversation with fee (which I started cos let it be known… Fee dont start conversations)

The more i look into facebook, the more and more I’m finding people from the past! I was being nosey, whilst spamming fee’s wall, and saw 3 or 4 people who she’d added from school, that through one way or another I knew them, Mainly cos some were from Rainworth and knew our Ryan, or I’d played football with them for the various different teams. Bit more digging, and I’ve managed to find atleast half the side that used to play for the Potters in the past, so will have to see what they’ve been upto and things :D

For some reason i’m getting more and more hits coming into the blog, which altho is nice, it’d be nicer to know who’s coming! Specially if it’d friend or foe! Had a hit from facebook last night, which was cool! First one I think so thanks ;) If anyone ever wants to comment but dont want others to see it, send me an email or something :D
The car seems to be liked by more and more people, so seems a popular choice, as you defo dont see many of them around :D

Hearing is slowly coming back, and it’s 10 times better than last monday, BUT STILL only about 50% So why people in the office think i can hear them when we’ve both got our backs to each other, or they talk as quietly as possible is beyond me! :?   Maybe Maddsy can shed some light into why?

Super long weekend!!

Hmmm where to start! Seem to have been soooo busy this weekend! Lets start at Thursday after work! Good a place as any to start I suppose :D

Well got home from work, and sorted myself a quick bite to eat (dont wanna go gym on a full stomach!!) and messed about online for a bit chatting to some of my small legion of fans!! Got to the gym a bit early, and started on a set of sit-ups, but then John turned up, so finished off, then had a good session on the chest :D Got bullied into visiting the folks at the Rushley who were partaking in the quiz! Was quite amuzing cos me and phil were having conversations with one another, and at the end, we’d turn round to each other and go… “you what?” cos we both couldnt hear each other :? Was good to see some others in the pub too, but current drama meant some people were “between groups” Was a good laugh doing the quiz, and was nice to see Phil and Helen again, and some of the others! Got home and thought… YAY! Now work tomorrow lol, so messed about online for a bit, before finally deciding upon going to sleep.

Woke up Friday morning feeling a little tired, but GREAT! Somehow I was awake at 6, but managed to get back to sleep for an hour or two, until I got a text message, saying “It’s Helen’s birthday today, so lets all spam her with birthday messages :D So I sent her some birthday greetings via text message, and decided to get up and get ready for my nice drive! Left my house bout 10, and went over to Sutton, to get my car cleaned by the Immigrants! They do a great job for a fiver, so may defo go back :D Had a nice steady drive over to York, and rang Ian, the bloke at Samurai Performance, to tell him I was nearly there, as he’d tried to ring me twice that morning whilst I was on my way up, and he directed me in! It was great coming round the corner, and seeing my new motor sat there :D

Took it out for a quick spin, and it was a dream to drive! I was really impressed with it, apart from the fact the pedals appear twice the size of them in the 106, so i found that a little odd! We ended up on this straight stretch of road, so the bloke told me to give it some stick. Now i’ve been in John’s Del Sol and Lee’s car when they’ve hit VTEC, but there is something that puts a big smile on your face when you’re actually driving, and it kicks in :D Sorted the formalities out, and then went on my merry way home, with a massive smile on my face! No sooner had I set off, John rang me, to ask if i’d picked it up yet, and what I thought to it! So told him he can have a look in about 2 hours or so hehe. Filled it up at a cost of £1.08 a litre  and set off on my way home! Was a really nice drive, with the air-con blasting away, and some tunes on! When i had stopped, asked Maddsy how fast 40mph was in kph and all I got back was “LOL” IDIOT!! I need to know was my reply, to which I think he realised… so he told me!

Had a great drive back, and I made it back to Mansfield in a decent time, without really pushing the car too much hehehe! First stop was McArthur Glen to see John, and he took it out for a quick spin, and seemed quite impressed with it  And as I was there I thought it would be rude not to buy 2 more shirts hahaha! Maddsy was being mardy, cos he wanted to see the car, so the next stop was to call into work! Everyone seemed impressed with it, and Crit felt wounded, cos he’d just bought a sick green VW Polo or sommat, and it paled in comparison to my new beast! Even Mark came out, and said it looked “alright” still dont think he was impressed that it took me a whole day to go to York to fetch a car  But never mind! Let Maddsy take it for a spin too, and then headed off home. Meatball was online, and was due to go with me in the morning to get the car, but he was a little hungover or something, so stayed in bed! He was on msn when I got home, so said you gonna be in in 10? And so headed over to his house. Got chatting and Denise from work popped her head out of the door and came to chat.

On the way back from Meatballs, arranged to pick Lizzie up later that night, cos i promised her a drive out in the car, and was spotted by Phil driving through Spion Kop! I was busy in posing mode, with the shades on, and the music playing, to realise! Picked Lizzie up, and went for a quick spin in the car! Not sure who was most impressed with it, me or her hehe. Then we decided to go for a drink to the Rushley! Was quite comedy, because for some reason neither of us could hear each other, so most of the conversation was repeated two or three times. After a few drinks, we went back to mine, and chatted and joked about whilst playing on Forza 2, then cricket! Before I dropped her off home, but not before she’d raided my DVD collection, which appears to be the trend for people visiting me at my house :? Hadn’t been in long before there was a gentle tap at the door, and I saw a familiar shaped car through the glass in the door. Didnt realise that Lee had Nic in the car! She did a good job of hiding in the shadows. Had a chat with the pair of them before they headed off.

Saturday got up, and spoke to Maddsy on the phone, and found our Man United were on the telly, and did I fancy going over to watch it and that. Nipped into Halfords first and purchased myself a sat-nav unit, and then headed over to meet Maddsy and the kids! Wasn’t the best match but was still nice to be out and about, and as per usual got to play with my mate Kieran, who keeps deciding that i’m a climbing frame, and everytime he thinks i’m gonna give him to someone he digs his claw-like-fingers into anything he can be it my ear, lip, face or shirt, and wraps his other arm round me, as if to say.. “No chance Wiggy”

Few pics below from the club saturday dinnertime…

Dylan with his dads Ray-bans on

“I may have just woken up Wiggy.. but be afraid”

“Check me out!”

Got home and messed about a bit, and got a phone call later that afternoon from Maddsy saying that security guard from the industrial estate has left him an answer phone message and one of the toilet windows was open, and would someone go down and have a look! Baring in mind Maddsy and Stevie had been drinking, it was down to yours truly to save the day

Whilst I was parked up, I thought about getting a few photos of the new car as below….

Was due to go out sat night, but once I’d had a bath I found myself with a massive headache from being really tired, so ended up chilling on msn, talking to a few homies, watching a film or two with some Jagermeister and Red Bull! This turned out to be a mistake, as the Red Bull kept me awake past 4 in the morning, even tho I went to bed tired about 12

Got up for football, and went to meet the lads on Queensway in Forest Town. Was a crap match tbh, and the wind played a massive part, but we just dont seem to be playing like a team for some reason! And we ended up losing 2-0! Scottie walked off the pitch, which was the wrong thing to do in my opinion, and I told him that! Once again Bagi kept us in the game from what I saw, and that was about the only decent thing to say with regards our team! I cant believe my prescence was missed so much  Wiggy will have to return next week, to help the moral more than anything! Even if I cant hear the lads! hahaha, Because Brad said they were the best team we’ve played this season, well I dont agree! I thought Local Inn were a better side than them, and yesterday we should have beaten them. Enough about that, cos I was wounded I didnt play, but hey-ho! Roll with the punches! Instead I got to play with Kieran, Jessica and Dylan again!

Was due to go to Mcarthur Glen with Fee in the afternoon, but had to cancel, cos the car’s a little dodgy, and asked if she could arrange me being picked up due to us going to matlock in the evening. Weather meant that a few of us went to Burntstump instead for a drink, then we met back up with Fee, Helen and Phil. Was another good night, but for some reason after 3 pints, i felt quite merry  Thanks to Bruton and Vicky for coming to pick me up! And sorry to Lizzie for waiting i the car-park to say bye, and then for me to rush off, cos Bruton wanted to get going hahaha!

I think Phil looks quite intellectual with Helens glasses on there

That’ll do for now :D

*edit* Maddsy cant stand it now…. so he’s looking for a car that’ll be faster than mine *rollseyes*

Sporting Shocks…

So judging by the title you may wanna skim-read to the 2 paragraphs Fee :P

Yesterday seemed to turn up some proper sporting shocks! First of all Zimbabze beat the might Aussies at cricket in the 20/20 World Cup, Wales were awesome in their 5-2 demolition of a Slovakian team that did well to draw 2-2 with Ireland at the weekend, and top of the list of shocks… Scotland beat France 1-0 in their own back yard! The so called group of death has been turned on its head somewhat, with the Scots now leading the group having beaten the French TWICE

England game was good to watch, and I think thats something like 4 qualification games we’ve won on the trot 3-0! Good first half performance! I must admit I was shocked by a text message I got when Owen scored after only 7 minutes! It seems Maddsy has decided to come out from behind the Iron Curtain, no Englands qualification is back on track! Having supported Brazil and Germany in their games against England!

Yesterday at work, had a few more chats via email with one or two people, and then got a surprise text from someone i’ve not spoken to since I was looking forward to going to Bratislava with the lads. The text read something like “Im watching Sky Sports News and Bratislava is on! Haha! It’s real!” Which made me chuckle! So i replied and got into a brief conversation with Michelle about how she’s going and how everything it turning out and that! Always nice to hear from people in the past.

Got home and uploaded the video (blog below) to the site, and sat and watched it again. Chatted to Ruby again on msn, and then went in the bath to try and relax, as my body was stiff as hell! This worked a bit, but once i’d got downstairs I felt weak, and had a headache! So a few paracetemols, and a mug of tea were called into action and I chilled and watched the football!

Seems someone else I know had a slightly more action/packed/comedy night, as this extract from an email I got this morning shows…

I had quite a busy night last night. A mate of mine has got a bar in his apartment (The Cleansing Ale public house) and he needed some stools to sort it out. A trip to Home Centre later and we’d got 5 of the finest flat-packed barstool. Once we’d unloaded the 7 crates of Tuborg he’d purchased just before the offy shut for a month, I set to work and assembled these barstools. After the 2nd stool the instructions went out of the window and I was knocking ‘em out like a Taiwanese sweat shop mate ha ha!

After that was sorted I went back home for a quick change and then it was off to the last remaining establishment that was left open. It was pretty good though, because it’s the Irish bar and it’s mostly Brits in there. We had a few sherbets and watched the games before getting our pint pots snatched off us and booted out at the stroke of midnight when Ramadan kicked off officially! We didn’t really feel like going home and were all a bit puckish so we piled in the chippy! There’s an actual “English fish & chip” shop next door and they do a gorgeous bit off cod! After abusing the Philipino bloke behind the bar we got stuck in to our snap before all being stopped in out tracks!! A few others walked in and amongst them was a broad Scottish gentleman of the Asian persuasion! As soon as he opened his mouth it was an instant head-fuck LOL! One of my mates, who’s a real broad Geordie just dropped his fork and announced “I’m confused! This fella goes against everything I’ve ever known….that’s it, I’m phonin’ me mam”!! ROFL!! He then gets his phone out and rings his Mum back home and tells her that there’s a Scottish Paki in the chippy and he doesn’t know what to do ha ha!! Needless to say she soon hung up, so we ate up, dished out a tad more abuse to the guy behind the counter and headed off home.

How random!

Plunged into a world of Silence!

And it aint all good! Silence maybe golden… but its also a pain in the arse too

Anyhow.. The hearing is slowly coming back! I can hear better than I could on Monday morning thats for sure! It really aint funny and has made me feel quite down and alone at times! Cos I feel so ignorant and that (nothing changed there then :P )

Work aint been too bad, apart from the little rant yesterday dinner, but some people still find it amusing!

Monday night saw a return to the Gym after a well earned week off rest  Caz came along with John and the first thing I said was “Dont expect much conversation” Caz was quite polite and made sure she spoke so I could understand / lip-read, but last night she thought it’d be funny to hide her mouth and mumble! Evil girl HAHA, and I think John just shouted a bit louder. It felt great to get back into the swing of things, and kick-start the week with a nice work out on the chest :D And i felt better for it on the way home!

Tuesday was pretty much the same as Monday, apart from being on phone duty, whilst everyone in the building buggered off for dinner! how very responsible  Had a good email correspondence with 2 of my mates, one of them being local the other just some weird stalker from the middle-east, who’s VERY excited about visiting these shores later this month! I do enjoy these email conversations, cos they help break up the day, and give my mind something else to think about other than “It’s boring… there is nothing for me to do yet”

Last night got home, and had a brief chat with Lizzie *sorry RUBY* on msn and then sorted some food out, and chilled for an hour, before heading over to meet John. For some reason I can always tell when Caz is coming to the Gym with John… cos normally he’s pretty much on time! When Caz comes along he’s about 10/15 minutes late! So I started my shoulders session and waited for him. Got a video message from Maddsy that made me go “awwwww bless his little cotton socks” so whilst I was waiting for John to do his set, I nipped and showed Caz, cos I knew she;d appreciate seeing something like that! It was my mate Kieran, taking what looked like some of his first steps! YAY for him! Now he’s gonna really cause some chaos in the Maddox household! I must admit I was shocked and appauled by Johns behaviour once Caz joined us in the main part of the Gym! He was acting like a hormone crazy teenager ROFL! And thats the last time i try and impress anyone in the gym! I’ve killed my stomach and other parts of my body

So far this morning had two of the rudest people ever come in! Them who we did a food of italy banner for not that long ago! Real nuisances, and thank god I couldn’t really hear them

Office Politics at work…

At times I really do despair working here! Fair play Maddsy has ALWAYS gone for his lunch at 12 till 12:30! I am not having a mini-whinge about that! Its the fact the Robert went for his dinner at just gone 12, and Geoffrey decided to follow him out the door 10 minutes later! Thus leaving Me (stone-deaf) and Wendy to listen out for any phone calls! Just so happens that Wendy was busy on a call, and I had to answer one that was bouncing round the office! No idea what the bloke thought, but I had to interrupt him mid-sentence, and say “I’m really sorry sir, but do you mind calling back within an hour or so? I have pretty much damaged my hearing, and can’t really hear anything you are saying, and I’ve pretty much been left alone in the office” Of course this aint gone down too well with Wendy! Wether Mark finds out is a different matter, because I’m sure a while back he had a go at them, saying if one goes out the other should stay! But it all boils down to office politics! I shall say no more, cos i’ll prob get shouted at for it! Just thought i’d stick this up to help calm my frustration
