Pesky little kids..

Yesterday I was busy as hell at work, and have been today too! Maddsy thinks he’s entitled to something called a weeks holiday, soI was trying to run 3 departments now! Luckily Wendy was in to give me a hand sorting UPS out and things, so that was appreciated. This of course has led to me running round like a mad man at work, at times not knowing which department to work from! Sort out UPS, or get some designs done, or make sure Crit has the artwork he needs  Luckily… I made it through the day!

Had a bit of a txting session with a mate who was feeling a bit down, so hopefully made them feel a bit better.. makes a change from me moaning about the world to this person hehe! Altho at times I feel somewhat invisible! And try talking to people who just dont seem to want to know! Hey-ho!
Got home, and cooked an age old favourite of mine (well I say cooked… stuck it in the oven whilst i went on Fight Night 3) of Steak Pie, Chips and Muchy Peas! mmmm Went down a treat I tell you! Maddsy sent me a picture message through later that night, of a pint of Magners, and baring in mind the huge hangover he had last week, drinking Strongbow, he asked if it was a bad move or not! Only problem being I was due to go to the gym at 8:30 and was then in need of a nice refreshing pint of Cider myself! Never been a big Cider fan, but had a magners a few days ago, and took an instant likening to it, altho i doubt i can drink much of it without being wasted

Went over to the Gym, and struggled somewhat with one or two exercises! Think the football on sunday took alot more out of me than I first thought, but soon got back into the swing of things! On the way to the Gym, driving past the shops I saw a gang of lads come flying across the road, chasing this 1 lad! This one lad was launching punches at these 3 lads who were trying to kick and hit him, and then there were 2 more waiting to cross the road! I’d have stopped, but had a car behind me, and knowing my luck i’d come out of the gym and find all my wheels gone, and the windows put through! Pesky kids!

John reluctantly parted with one of the watches he’d got from work, so gonna sort him with some money out tonight, and just had a call off our Lewi, who’s got a job to price up in Ravenshead, so gonna take him to that later tonight :D

Just for a mate of mine.. who i’ve been emailing again lately….

Willkommen zum dritten Reich  Now what does that remind you of?

Man Utd Build bigger car park..

Oh to be on premiership champions wages…

Premiership champions Manchester United are building a bigger car park – because their players’ massive motors won’t fit.

Stars have complained their cars won’t fit in the standard-sized spaces at the team’s Carrington training ground, according to today’s Sun newspaper.

Wayne Rooney has bought a huge top-of-the-range Hummer H2 costing £70,000, while pals Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs drive Range Rovers and winger Cristiano Ronaldo has a Bentley Continental GT.

“The lads keep trying to outdo one another with bigger and bigger motors. When Ronaldo car pulls up it looks as wide as a house – it’s huge” an insider told reporters.

“We never know what they are going to come to work in next.”

Top Gear Artic Special

What an episode! I thought it was great! Specially Clarkson and May going on about being over international waters, hence being able to drink and drive! It appeared that they weren’t interested in taking their Alpine training course seriously, and fucked about loads! Was one of the best episodes i’ve seen for a long time :D

First Pre-season kick-about

So friday at work was a bit random! Sent a lot of text messages to someone who was obviously bored whilst waiting for cricket to start at Trent Bridge, as they kept replying :P Also played a guessing game with Geoffrey as to wether or not there would be any play from Trent Bridge on the friday, as the outfield was piss-wet through due to rain on the previous few days! I won in the end, byt saying it’s be bout 3ish before they started haha! Altho we’ll let him off, as he went into Mansfield at dinner, and came back with 5 sausage rolls of the David Boots variety! Anyone who loves sausage rolls, must give this guy a visit! They’re amazingly filling, and 2 will last me from dinner to tea time, if not beyond  Friday night was spent with a pizza watching Transformers with a few Amaretto and Cokes  Transformers was an amazing film!
On my way to having my haircut i saw my sister who’d been on her driving test, wanting to turn into her street, and wanting to turn out was our Malc with Lewi and Owen in the car . So let our hev’s instructor into the street, then sat at the junction for a few minutes chatting to our Malc about this and that, and waving at our Owen hehehe! Got to the hairdressers, and Claire was nothing but nasty to me as usual! hehe! She claims I got up to something in Bratislava, and wouldnt tell her, but said i had a lucky escape not going through with the wedding and that… and that I had to look at her husband Jay as a perfect example!! For some reason I was knackered, so decided to have a “Power Nap” haha! Next thing i knew it was 6.30 and moments later Wayniac rang me to ask if I was in, coshe was gonna come round and sort the immersion heater, and any electric problems caused. Didnt take him too long to sort out, altho he had to nip to his house in Mansfield to get a fuse

Got up sunday and got all my football shit together, and headed over to Homebase to meet Brad and the rest of the Rachells mob.  Turns out both Brad and Moorey had been trying to get in touch with me over the week, but with my sim card not being active, I had no idea! We ended up playing in the heart of Bellamy Road, not too far from Ollys house, and  played against Ryans old team! I knew 2 or 3 of their players from a night down mansfield with them and Ryan, and also knew Jamie Collier from our days as Titchfield/Potters! Was a great game attacking wise, but with our keeper out with a dislocated finger, Brad went in net! Otherwise we’d have won and not lost 7-5! Not impressed with one thing… Made a right mess of my right knee!! Got an astro-turf burn wednesday night, and basically went in for a tackle yesterday, and ripped the scab off, and also made the graze bigger  So now it’s stinging like a mother fucker!

Got home, and phoned o2 to see why my sim card hadn’t been activated, even tho the woman on the phone on wednesday said it’d be 24 hours! Turns out the stupid woman hadn’t lifted the call barring, so the sim card was working but i couldnt send or receive calls or texts! This was done, and an apology made by the woman I was speaking too! Also i’m gonna be re-imbursed on my next phone bill for the inconvenience!! As I made it known that people were calling me ignorant for not replying to theirt text messages, even tho I had not been receiving them  After a good 3 or 4 hours, the phone was working again, amid a mass flurry of texts!! from various people! Meatball if you’re reading this.. i only got the text you sent sunday morning about 8pm sunday night mate! Forgot to reply sorry!

Maddsy is in Skeg-Vegas this week, and phoned me to tell me comedy story number 1, cos he’d been up and taken Kieran out for a walk at 7 this morning, as Kieran was awake! They were in fantasy island or something last night, and this kid got his head stuck in one of the tall bar stools! And the kids mum was stood there crying, the dad holding his legs! So Maddsy and Scott ripped the top of the bar stool off or something, then when the woman from the bar came over, she just got a short “Could do with some wood glue on that duck”

Brad’s version of events…

What can i say? Great going forward not so great at the back.

With Bagi injured, Brad went in the nets, and to be fair was probably at fault for at least a couple of goals.
However we started the match in fine form and soon found ourselves 3-0 up after Nick,Malc and Bud all hit fine goals.
We went in at half-time 3-1 up.

The second half started badly with Green Dragon scoring inside the first 5 mins, however a good volley by Malc put us two goals clear again. Then we seemed to fade again with a 20 minute purple patch in which they took a 5-4 lead.A goal by Winty got us back on level terms.
It stayed like that until the last 10 minutes when Green Dragon scored twice more.

A cracking game with end to end football. However we looked very tired towards the end,but hopefully our fitness levels will increase after the next 2 friendlies.

A penalty shoot-out after the game ended up with us losing 4-2.Sammy and Bud missing their kicks and Malc and Nick scoring theirs.

Man of the match to Malc Birch, a good all round performance with 2 goals to show for it. Well done Malc.

(Note: this friendly match does not count towards the stats)

Dads Birthday….

Tried to have a chat with Bex on msn, but she was going out or something, so maybe that’ll happen some other time, or maybe not at all! Who knows    Altho it did appear to be a day of catching up yesterday, with me speaking to fee, and also one or two others from my msn list that i hadn’t spoken to for god knows how long popping up to say hello hehe! Did have a great chat with Lizzie about this and that, and turns out she’s spending the next two days at Trent Bridge watching the cricket! I’d love to go and watch the cricket on the first day of a test, so may have to keep her sweet till the next test at Trent Bridge hehehe!

So left work last night, and rushed home, cos I’d got the wrong sim card in my phone, and it hadn’t been fully activated, and wondered if John had txt me saying he was going to the gym or not! Luckily the only person to txt me was Wayniac, telling me he;d bought this part I need replacing for about £12 from the wholesalers, which is a bargain! Txt John to see if we were going gym, and he was unsure and said be 8ish if he goes! So told him my plan, and he agreed to go  Wiggy pressure coming to the fore there haha!

Went over to my parents house with a card and 20 quid for my fathers birthday, and as soon as my mum and dad walked through the door, my mum went off on one! About me not getting my story straight about her going to Baronjon at the weekend… If you dont like my stories mother…. then stop reading hahaha! Our lewi came up with Owen, and he was being his usual self! playing with his cars, and when you move them you get a short sharp “NO MIKEY” Was great to see him tho, cos not been round for a few weeks due to Bratislava and that. He seemed impressed with the Bob the Builder birthday cake for my dad, and my mum was telling me that last year Owen kicked off, cos they were cutting the Thomas Cake up, and Owen didnt like it or something!

Went to the gym and had another chest session! Turns out i’m gonna buy a new watch too haha! Got home, and chilled on msn for a bit!

Interesting result tonight…

Well I wont say I had split loyalties.. being a loyal Geordie, with an interest in the Glasgow giants, but getting back from the gym to see this result on Setanta certainly made my evening! May have to see if Andy and Joe watched it ;) Looking at the teams it was a strong Celtic team, and a bit of a make-shift toon side, which makes this result slightly more impressive! Plus the fact its Scottish “Giants” Celtic against an English side! Passion is always rife! What makes it even more amusing from a Geordie point of View… Luque scored 2 past them  Him who’s scored about 4 goals in 2 seasons hehehe!

NEWCASTLE UNITED 4
CELTIC 1
Friendly
St.James’ Park
Thursday, July 26, 2007
Kick-off 7.45pm

Craig Hope reports from St.James’ Park …

MATCH REPORT

A FIRST-half brace from Spaniard Albert Luque helped the Magpies to a 4-1 victory over Scottish champions Celtic in Sam Allardyce’s first game at St.James’ Park.

It was Nigerian hitman Oba Martins (11) who opened the scoring, finishing low past Artur Boruc with a first-time effort after Nobby Solano had picked out the Toon striker unmarked on the penalty spot.

Enter Albert Luque – making his first start in black and white since February, the former Deportivo forward volleyed home his first on the half-hour mark after James Milner crossed from the left-hand side.

And the Spanish international got his second and United’s third just before the break, this time connecting left-footed with a Solano delivery at the far post to force the ball past Boruc.

Scott Brown (72) pulled one back for the visitors with a fine header, before Milner (90) wrapped things up with a low drive from outside the area.

Steve Harper made a cameo appearance in attack for the hosts after Nicky Butt was forced to leave the field because of injury late in the second-half.

The game doesn’t restart and Mark Halsey blows for full-time with United running out deserved 4-1 winners.

91min – NEWCASTLE GOAL (4-1): It’s Steve Harper who starts the move with a neat lay-off on the right-hand side, the ball is worked to N’Zogbia on halfway and he drives the Magpies forward before feeding JAMES MILNER on the left, the winger cuts in-field and fires low past Brown from 20 yards.

88min – Taylor leaves the field with what looks like a knock to his ankle. Big Andy Carroll goes to centre-back leaving Steve Harper to plough a lone furrow up front.

84min – Donati springs Miller clear, the forward needs too many touches and has to check his run with Taylor recovering, but Brown appears on the overlap and takes the shins of Shay Given to deflect the ball up and over the bar to deny the Celtic new boy a second from 12 yards out.

80min – Steve Harper comes on up front for United with Nicky Butt having failed to return to the action. The Toon Army are on their feet to welcome the Magpies goalie.

78min – Brown almost has a second flying in at the far post trying to connect with Naylor’s cross-cum-shot, N’Zogbia does enough to distract the midfielder and the ball spins wide.

77min – Jiri Jarosik replaces Paul Caddis.

75min – There’s another scare for the Magpies as Miller flashes a low ball right across the face of Given’s goal, it’s heart in mouths time but the ball luckily for United runs free. Nicky Butt has left the field and with all of the outfield subs having been used the hosts are down to 10 men.

72min – CELTIC GOAL (3-1): Naylor’s cross lacks height but finds its way to McGeady unmarked on the edge of the area, the winger takes a touch and chips the ball onto the head of SCOTT BROWN who rises above Edgar to power his effort into the top corner and beyond a diving Shay Given.

70min – David Edgar makes his first appearance of the pre-season with David Rozehnal making way on what was his first game at Gallowgate.

67min – Scott Brown surges forward and makes inroads into United’s area before squaring for Miller poised eight yards from goal, Rozehnal anticipates the pass however and arrives on the scene to clear.

66min – Kenny Miller replaces Jan Venegoor of Hesselink for the visitors.

65min – Oba Martins leaves to a standing ovation with James Troisi coming on.

61min – Butt feeds Milner with his back to goal 30 yards from goal, Milner spins clear of Naylor who was in close attendance and cracks an effort at goal, it has the fans on their feet but bounces in front of Brown’s goal before going inches wide of the keeper’s right-hand upright.

58min – Taylor and Hesselink challenge in the air on the edge of the area, the United defender lands the wrong side of the Dutchman and the ball drops kindly for the Celtic forward, his shot spins wide however with Taylor having done well to recover and put off the striker.

54min – Naylor’s weak bacpass plays in Andy Carroll who had done well to anticipate the situation, Brown is equally as sharp however and races from his line to deny the United forward who had tried to poke the ball under the on-rushing stopper from just eight yards out.

48min – Hartley runs from halfway out to the left-wing but runs out of ideas and sends a weak shot wide of Given’s near post from 25 yards.

The Magpies get the second-half underway with Steven Taylor, Andy Carroll, Charles N’Zogbia and Matty Pattison having replaced Paul Huntington, Nobby Solano, Albert Luque and Peter Ramage.

It’s half-time at St.James’ and the opening period has been all about one man – Albert Luque – the Spanish forward grabbing two goals with United fully deserving their 3-0 lead.

42min – NEWCASTLE GOAL (3-0): We said before the game that ALBERT LUQUE was looking to make the most of his first start of the pre-season and the Spaniard is certainly doing that. Nobby Solano is the provider with a trademark right-wing delivery which finds Luque at the far post, the former Deportivo man finishingleft-footed first-time from six-yards out before spinning away to enjoy the applause of the black and white fans.

40min – Ramage is United’s saviour with a great, sliding intervention on the goal-line after Zurawski had nicked the ball clear of Shay Given, it ran kindly for Hesselink and it had looked certain the Dutchman would halve the deficit from close range until Rammy recovered to clear.

39min – McGeady has had a lively opening period and wins a corner for Celtic as his 25-yard, low shot deflects off Ramage and behind. The flag-kick is worked short and it takes a well-timed header from Huntington to take the ball clear of Hesselink from Naylor’s far post cross.

35min – A lovely first-time ball from Geremi springs Luque clear in the inside left channel, the Spaniard volleys goalwards and the Toon crowd are on their feet as the his effort dips just inches over Boruc’s crossbar.

33min – Shay Given is called into action for the first time and he needed to make the save with Aiden McGeady’s 25-yard shot heading straight for the top corner. The Irishman palms over the crossbar and from the resulting corner Carr clears first-time at the near post.

30min – NEWCASTLE GOAL (2-0): ALBERT LUQUE is making a habit of scoring against Celtic after his goal in Alan Shearer’s testimonial match last May. This time the Spaniard finishes from close range after James Milner picked him out unmarked just eight yards from Boruc’s goal, his left-foot volley finding the back of the net and United have a two-goal lead.

28min – The Magpies have another corner, this time on the right-hand side, Geremi is again the taker but McManus heads clear at the near post.

25min – Naylor sends a whipped free-kick towards the far post, Kennedy climbs highest to head back across goal for centre-back partner McManus, the Bhoys skipper does well to re-position his body and attempts the acrobatic effort but his overhead shot is sliced and goes wide.

24min – A Martins’ flick finds Geremi in space 25 yards out, the Cameroon star again has a crack but the low drive is going away from Boruc’s goal and he watches it wide.

21min – Caddis is forced to concede a corner from Carr’s deep cross when really he could have let the ball run for a goal-kick. Geremi swings over a deep delivery which is fisted clear by Boruc, Rozehnal chases after the loose ball and is scythed down by Naylor after a neat turn on the right channel. Albert Luque steps up and lashes goalwards, but it’s high, wide and not very handsome, much to the travelling support’s delight.

17min – Celtic have the first corner of the game as Naylor’s cross from the left is charged down by Solano. Hartley’s flag-kick is low but manages to find its way into the heart of the six-yard and only the bravery of Paul Huntington prevents the visitors levelling the scores as he hacks clear. The Magpies break and Geremi shoots from 25 yards after good work by Martins but his effort clears Boruc’s crossbar.

15min – A ball forward is seized upon by Hartley on the edge of the area, Zurawski is supporting to his right and Celtic’s right-winger tees it up perfectly for the Pole, unfortunately for the visitors his effort lacks direction and the ball drifts harmlessly wide.

11min – NEWCASTLE GOAL (1-0): It looks as though a promising forward is dead when McManus stops Stephen Carr in his tracks as he advanced into the penalty area, the ball runs free on the right channel and possession is quickly recycled by Solano who picks out OBA MARTINS on the penalty spot, the Nigerian does the rest with a first-time, right-footed finish which beats Borus low to his left. It’s a very similar effort to Martins’ strike against AZ Alkmaar at the same end last season.

8min – Hartley crosses from deep on the right flank and Stephen Carr manages to head clear, the ball drops kindly for Donati 30 yards from goal but his wild effort ends up high in the Gallowgate end amid cheers from the home crowd.

5min – United break and a prodded Nobby throughball almost puts Luque in but the Spaniard is unable to reach the pass and the ball runs through to Boruc.

5min – A hopeful pump forward looks like it’s set Zurawski free, but Given is quickly off his line to hack clear the danger .

4min – Albert Luque’s made a bright start and has already won warm applause from the home fans with a couple of neat touches.

Celtic get the game underway on a balmy night at St.James’ with United wearing their new sky blue change kit.

TEAM NEWS

ALBERT Luque is handed a starting place in attack as he makes his first pre-season appearance for the visit of Celtic in what is Big Sam’s first game at St.James’ Park.

The Spaniard last figured for United as a second-half substitute at Portsmouth in April and will be looking to make an impression having been given a fresh start under the new regime.

There are Gallowgate debuts for David Rozehnal and Geremi, the Cameroon international partnering Nicky Butt in the centre of midfield.

James Milner starts his first pre-season fixture and will operate on the left flank with Nobby Solano down the right.

Shay Given has shaken-off a heel injury and returns to wear the captain’s armband against his former club.

Peter Ramage will line-up alongside Rozehnal at the heart of the defence with 19-year-old Paul Huntington slotting in at left-back.

Steven Taylor returns to the Magpies bench following his ankle injury, and there’s also a first inclusion for David Edgar after his participation in the Under-20 World Cup with Canada.

Just another Wednesday..

Or so I’d have you believe!!

It was my work mum’s 50th birthday!!! As one or two people will know (mainly Olstizzle) Carol has been at the company for the best part of 15 or more years, and at times seems to have more say than Mark  And she will do anything for her work mates and things! And has lent me money when i’ve been short a few times I can tell you that much hehe!  So we all took a break bout 20 to 4ish, and had a bit of snap and a beer to celebrate Carol’s big 50, and also to present Ted with his retirement gift, as he’d decided one day to retire, and it was decided to have a bit of a double celebration  When we went to the dogs last year, her and some of the girls walked past a limo, and Carol mentioned she’d never gone out in a limo before, and got the drivers permission to sit in and see what its like! Well yesterday Mark got Wendy to book one to take her and some of her family for a drive out! So after a nice drink, Wendy walked up to Carol, and mentioned the above story about the dogs, and that she should come outside….

Once Carol had left for a drive out in the limo, it was last best wishes to Ted, then back to work. Or so I thought! As i’d spoken to Wayniac earlier in the week to come and look at some electrical stuff for me, cos the hot water timer keeps stopping, and I think it’s the fuse, and also the immersion heater element is knackered.  He phoined me bout 20 to 5, and said he’d just finished at the solicitors, and could be round straight away rather than going back to Kirkby, to come back out my way, so I buggered off from work, and gave the house a bit of a tidy (OK Major tidy  ) Once he’d look around, and saw what we needed to do, we had a quick blast round on Forza (and I won typically) and then he headed off. Got ready for Maxxd football, and had a major discussion with Lizzie, about how to get to Manor Sports Complex! ot exactly rocket science :P

Football wasn’t bad, and I just ran around like normal! Managed to meg Ollie more than once, and iirc he didnt manage to get past me ;) Meatball was his usual competitive self  as Matty Lee and Mchugh found out when they both went flying in shoulder to shoulder tackles! I was denied a stone wall penalty, as i skipped the ball over Tom, who then hauled me down W@#NKER  Coop really does need to grow! He;s a mint keeper but prone to being lobbed, as 4ft tall goalkeepers normally do HAHAHAHA

After football stood round in the car park with Lee, Meatball, Teddy and the lovely couple that is Mchugh and Mini-Bean, and got chatting bout one or two things, and then Lee and Meatball invited themselves round to my house to look for DC2′s and go on Gears of War and that! Ended up viewing a few videos of DC2′s, DC5′s and a few other cars going round the track as well as getting in some gaming! Was a good night in total! Had a semi-drunken phone call off Maddsy, who was on a mission! He was in the pub, and didnt fancy lager, so ended up on the Strongbow! His mission was to drink more than Stevie could earn that night! He failed miserably by 4 pints, managing 7!! He’s now walking round with a big carton of Orange Juice, and a sore head! So pretty much like he was yesterday

Oh the comedy of it!

Today Maddsy has had to do some work, and he’s in a bitch-ass of a mood! He’s reminding me of Mrs Crabtree from South-Park! Only difference is he aint threatened to kill a bunny yet!! He’s got similar looks too

or maybe for those who remember really old Grange-Hill ……
